Hi there,
I have the following problem:
My cousin bought a brand new Magic 32B Vodafone.
I flashed it to latest CyanogenMod 6 for Magic.
The phone still has the Factory SPL + Radio on it,
i just put a custom recovery on it and flashed CM6.
I did the same with my Magic 32B, works fine since a year now.
It worked fine for about 2 weeks, with CM6 running stable and everything.
then suddenly after a reboot of the phone just went to black screen,
no vodafone splashscreen shows up or anything. It vibrates and then does nothing.
It doesn't show up at "fastboot devices" and "adb devices" shows no deveice either.
When i boot it up with volume down + power pressed (to get in fastboot) it doesnt vibrate (like when it works normally), but screen stays black.
I cant get in recovery either.
anyone ever had this problem? of course i googled for this problem but none of the "black screen" search results described my problem ..
is there a way to autoapply defaultrom (SAPPIMG.nhb) put on sd card (may have read something about that some time) or any other solution to this problem?
is this due to flashing the custom rom or maybe a broken device?
what are the chances to get it back from warranty?
i very much appreciate any help!
thanks
Sounds like the screen broke. If you install ANDROIDSDK you can probably grab screenshots to see what the phone is doing. That will allow you to flash the stock sappimg to get back stock and send in under warranty for repair.

Does not work, phone doesn't respond to anything
ok, I'll just have to sent it to warranty then, and hope for the best
thanks anyway
did you ever fix this?

I just flashed a ROM and it looked like it worked pretty well but when I restarted my phone it didn't boot correctly. It freezes at the htc screen.
What do I do?
What did you flash and what model do you have (TMOUS or Euro)?
Can you get back to the bootloader? If so, hope is not lost.
Reset with the volume down button held down. Let us know.
I have the Euro model.
I flashed this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=6636451#post6636451
When I reset with volume button down a weird screen appears with 4 colours and some weird numbers etc.
At the bottom it says "USB".
Yepp, that's the bootloader, and showing you're connected to your PC
So, you're good to flash it again with whatever is appropriate
EDIT: Did you read the important bit about the Radio ?
have you used task 29??
hence why it froze at the white HTC screen because it has no ROM on the phone, you enter boot-loader now and flash your rom, make sure you have an appropriate radio also
hi there, im new here and ive been searching on the forum for a long time, but i didnt see any solution for my problem... (or maybe i was blind) so when i was trying to flash back original ROM from bootloader screen through USB, it didnt show my current image version info on the screen, but it did show the image version that im going to upgrade... however, i still let it updated and it said its succeed. but when my phone going to reboot, it stuck on the "stick together" screen... btw, my phone is PB81120 SS-B3 SPL-2.08. HSPL 8G XE. hope someone can help me solve my problem... thanks first :]
Go into bootloader again and connect the device to your PC via usb (should show USB at the the bottom in bootloader) and run the Rom Update Utility again. But first make sure the ROM is compatible with TmoUS Hd2.
I would recommend flashing stock from the bootloader just to be safe.
but i was trying to install T-Mobile_HD2_MR_Software_2.13.531.1 under bootloader, and it still the same... :[
Was that what you origonally tried updating to? Or was it a custom rom you had tried?
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
that was the latest i tried to updating to, or any different kinds of version of original ROMs... before, i tried to update a custom ROM on it first, but it failed :[ actually, when i first got my phone it was unlocked, so while i was waiting to get the unlock code for it, i decided to install android on it... later on i had successfuly putting android on it, and by that time i got my unlock code too. then i typed it in and my phone just reboot and stuck on the "stick together" screen till now... so i started to look through the forum and found out that most ppl said is to reflash the ROM back to the original one first, and then everything would be alright... but i guess it didnt work on my phone D:
Have you tried a hard reset? (Hold both volume buttons while booting)

yeah... i tried everything :[
hi,
don't worry, your problem is resolvable. (as long as you see something on screen, you are lucky.)
1) When the stick together screen comes, do you see any numbers on left bottom after waiting for some time say 1 min.
if yes, then your problem is missing OS image only.
in this case, take out the battery. after that, keep volume down pressed all the time and insert battery again. press power button, if mobile does not start immediately. please keep volume down button pressed till the time tricolor screen does not come on. after that connect cable to computer and update normally.
2) If you don't see any number, it may mean multiple things, which all are resolvable. (most likely bootloader stuck in another mode.)
in any case, try steps in given in 1 and report back. before reporting back please install mtty on your computer as it is needed to send commands to mobile to get out of this mode.

Good morning.
im a newbie at updating the HTC HD 2 Leo i have for T-Mobile (which is probably WHY i shouldnt have messed with it in the 1st place...).
i tried downloading the android gingerbread rom onto my phone last night and while downloading the software their was a partition error and my phone was stuck afterwards rebooting on the failed software dowload (would get stuck on a black screen only showing the HTC letters in green.)
i FURTHER screwed it up by trying to put it in bootloader mode and trying to install the Original software i found which i downloaded off a website for the factory version of my HTC HD 2 Leo.
NOW it only shows a black screen.. the computer cant sync my phone, the battery light is not showing and no signs of life...it wont even let me go into bootboader mode...all it says when i plug it in to my USB port on the computer is under hardware found " Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM"...
someone PLEASE help this lost noob... much appreciated
wow! erm.... have you tried a hard reset? recovery software might still be on there, with any hope.....
i tried , but the hd2 doesnt show ANYTHING on the screen, i tried holding both buttons and pushing the power on button but the factory screen wont pop up because the screen stays permenantly black
Sounds as though you flashed a T-MObile USA with a ROM with a .51 RADIO; if that is the case then the phone is bricked.
You could always telephone HTC and say you charged your phone overnight and it didn't respond the next day - with no mention of flashing the phone.
As you have found out flashing before reading can be fatal (for the phone) and expensive. I have flashed quite a few HTC WinMo phones, but for every different phone I read then reread the instructions.
thanx i appreciate it , it sux that i cant get it fixed.
Hi
A friend of mine has a HD2, never HSPL or anything and still running on 1.42 rom.... Now everytime it boots it goes straight into the bootloader. Since its never been messed around with I find it odd, seen it before with people with other phones. Would this just be a corrupted ROM and therefore it goes there, would if poss a stock rom flash be able to restore the phone, if that is not the case then a warranty return is still valid, but obv not wanted.
What do you think, will this work? I did search but everyone's posts come up with I task 29 and now stuck... etc and not from a stock bootloader as well!
Cheers any help will be appreciated, my first thing I will get him to try is a rom reflash but that will be tonight, I'll update on the progress then!
First thing I would check is if his volume button is stuck for some reason. Second would be to see if it detects a USB connection, then hard spl and new rom from that point. Keep us posted.

The post above me is correct check and make sure the volume down button is not stuck/Hung in the down position. If it is stuck in the down position like it is being held down at boot then this is the cause of it going straight to bootloader at boot up. If there is no problem with the volume down button then try a hard reset of the HD2. Warning this will reset your friends HD2 tolike it was fresh out the box so any photos, videos, documents, and etc that is not on the SD card they will lose. Also any contacts that are not backed up withan app like Microsoft My Phone will be lost. To do the reset while the HD2 is off bold the volume up and the volume down buttons down and press and bold the power button down. When you see the tri color screen come up release the volume and power buttons and follow the instructions on the screen (hint: you will want to press the vume up button). Now if after the Hard reset your friends HD2 still goes to bootloader at boot up then download and flash the stock ROM for their HD2 you can find it on HTC.com but make sure you varifiy that it is for their HD2 by entering the serial number of their HD2 you can find the serial number look under the battery. To flash the ROM let the HD2 boot up to the bootloader and then connect it to the computer via USB cable and wait for the Serial in the white bar of the boooader screen to change to USB and for your computer to show it recognize the pbone and then run the .exe or RUU wich everone the ROM has.
Never thought of the key being held done will try that first.
Also I won't HSPL'ing as its in warranty and a half HSPL'ed phone is well useless
OK so i feel like a bit of an idiot for this one. Turns out what I call a bootloader and he does is totally different. For me Its the tri-colour screen, for him its the red/orange windows boot screen. So it was all solved by a HR. Great..
Sorry for those who offered the advice but it really was not needed. but solid advice it was, you always can rely on help in here
First of all my software facts so we know what we're talking about:
ACE PVT ENG S-OFF
HBOOT-0.85.2007 (PD9810000)
MICROP-0438
RADIO-26.04.02.17_M2

im using the latest nandroid. can't find the information for that.
I've looked in a couple places for similar problems but i couldn't find something useful for my problem.
I was at a party last night and had my phone in my jeans pocket. I think its obvious that it was pretty hot and I sweat...
After the party I checked my phone and the style and wallpaper were changed. I also found that the power button didn't work anymore. Before everything had worked just perfectly.
Since I could still use my phone I tried to backup as much as possible. I also made a backup of the current rom.
Unfortunately I restored that rom, and I think that's what causes me problems now. Please don't ask me why I did it, I just wasn't thinking a whole lot.
After reboot the phone stuck in the white screen with green htc logo.
I tried to take out the battery a couple times and rebooted it, but it didn't work. The phone always starts automatically when I put the battery in. Sometimes the colors of the screen were messed up, meaning that it was all pink or some kinda "pixel curtain" was above the image.
I also started the phone in recovery (holding just vol down and inserting the battery) In recovery the phone checks the usual things but I can’t see the results of those checks. I’m pretty sure though, that they all say “No” (no clue if that’s good or not). After that I’m stuck in recovery. The vol buttons don’t work or at least I can’t move my selection and the power button, no surprise, doesn’t work either.
So that is pretty much my problem. I hope you can help me with that.
i ran the latest ruu and it succesfully got my phone back. the power button, however, still doesn't work. anybody an idea how i could fix that? or what could cause the problem?
Update:
when i connect the phone the my pc it shows: hboot usb plug.
i'm not familiar with hboot. could someone tell me what i can do to repair my phone, i guess i have to flash a new rom, using hboot?
moreover, after some time the phone changes into fastboot usb
now i can use the vol+/- buttons again but i cant select anything since the power button doesnt work. but that probably means that i can use fastboot to flash a rom right?
could somebody please explain how i can do that?
i'm also trying to use the test ruu and change the room.zip to the latest one. i founde a thread where that worked: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=835595&page=3
i hope i can fix it because i doubt htc will replace my phone because of the void warranty...
Seems that this is a hardware issue.
You said you ran a RUU, right?
What does your bootloader show now? The first line is important. It should say something like ACE PVT SHIP S-ON
If this is the case, you should get it replaced by htc because they can't figure out anymore if you had a custom rom or not
Btw: which RUU did you install?
