I just flashed a ROM and it looked like it worked pretty well but when I restarted my phone it didn't boot correctly. It freezes at the htc screen.
What do I do?
What did you flash and what model do you have (TMOUS or Euro)?
Can you get back to the bootloader? If so, hope is not lost.
Reset with the volume down button held down. Let us know.
I have the Euro model.
I flashed this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=6636451#post6636451
When I reset with volume button down a weird screen appears with 4 colours and some weird numbers etc.
At the bottom it says "USB".
Yepp, that's the bootloader, and showing you're connected to your PC
So, you're good to flash it again with whatever is appropriate
EDIT: Did you read the important bit about the Radio ?
have you used task 29??
hence why it froze at the white HTC screen because it has no ROM on the phone, you enter boot-loader now and flash your rom, make sure you have an appropriate radio also

Ok Here is how to fix the problem with a p4000 on telus when it dies and goes no radio on the htc load screen. I know the phone looks like a brick at this point but all you have todo is:
1. Kick the phone into bootloader mode. (Hold ok + Power + Camera and do a soft reset)
2. download the new wm6 Firmware (http://www.htcamerica.net/support/p4000/software-downloads.html)
3. now with the phone in bootloader mode connect the usb cable and run the firmware upgrade. (the upgrade will not see the curent software version on the phone, just click upgrade anyway)
Hope this helps
Htc p400 no radion ( in red)
I have tried what you said and it did not work
I am able to flash a new room which completely load with the usb cable
and after the same message happen again which is no radio
I also tried to install a new radio that i took from this website and the phone stays on focus form a long time with the screen beeing gray or white and It stays on Loading ... For a long time and then close but do not power back on i have to remove the batteries
so could anyone help me plz
the only thing i see in bootloader mode is
TITA100
SPl:-2.07.0000
cpld-9
its the htc p4000 with telus
First did you flash the stock telus rom.
Next did you name the radio file separately on the sd. It should be TITAIMG.nbh. The sd method will work.
No radio Fix
Where do i find the telus stock rom
i took the rom from the htc.com/ca website and am not sure if its what you are referring too

I have the exact same setup with the 2.07.0000 bootloader as well as "no radio" power cycle. I have been reasearching for two days now and I think I might know what the problem is, however I need some help fixing it.
The bootloader, radio and rom all have to work together. If the rom gets updated and you still have an older radio or bootloader then power cycling can occur.
Could someone please help us? I have tried flashing several radios, bootloaders and roms via sd to fix this problem but nothing is working and most the time the phone just hangs in the "loading..." screen.
Many thanks in advance!

alright.. i made a similar post to this before and i came across the wiki...
well i can't view what my SPL or my IPL because as soon as i turn the device on, all that shows is the boot loader screen and displays serial on the top with 0.16-0.90 in red characters on the bottom (I'm not sure what those are)...
here are the only details that i know about my phone:
I DON'T have hard SPL
My Original ROM i was using before was an htc windows mobile 5 rom
The reason that my phone is bricked right now is because the usb cable disconnected in the middle of the flash
I'm using Windows Vista for flashing
Computer won't recognize the phone when on usb
My phone (qtek 9600) can't load the operating system
*EDIT*
THE PHONE IS STUCK ON BOOTLOADER WHEN I TURN IT ON, NOTHING ELSE, BUT THE BOOTLOADER SCRREN DOESN'T SHOW MY SPL AT ALL.
ALSO, MY COMPUTER DOESN'T RECOGNIZE THE PHONE....... MY PHONE HAS A TYPE 2A BRICK
Helping me will be greatly appreciated
come on.. I'm without a phone
Do you have a 2GB or smaller SD card? Copy a rom image to it and rename it HERMIMG.NBH
Turn it on and you might get lucky!
Just make sure its stock rom that was supplied, or the updated WM06 version as the CID should check out then...
vwkess forgot to mention, reset into bootloader, hold power, ok button and reset with stylus. Hold all buttons in until you get to the tri-colour screen. If it works, follow the prompts....
Cheers...
hi,
i think i can hlep.
i had recently bricked my phone with a custom wm6 image, it worked fine for two days and then i reboot, and all i see was the welcome image, nothing else.
so what i did is -
i pressed the hard reset buttons - power + OK + SOFT RESET (Stylus), kept it pressed for 3-4 seconds, the fone rebooted, the screen was full with some colored bricks i connected my fone in USB and on screen i saw USB.
I then again flashed my fone with the working update, it worked perfectly for me, try may be you can get some luck
ps - before doing all these, i turned my fone off by removing the battery, i removed sim card and mmc card as well.
regards
That may work too, but again, try to flash with a stock rom, untick "connect with USB" in activesync and then try.
Make sure you go to boootloader screen, instruction in rajivlodha's post, before you connect to the pc.
Goodluck...
I need some help as well.
I think I may have bricked my phone. It's a rooted htc hero cdma. I'm running cyogenmod on it and it was working fine, until using metamorph to apply some changes to the theme.
I went to reboot, and it now it won't load past the htc screen. Even when i try the key combination to put it into recover mode. I didn't install a nandroid backup, and i'd be fine with just completely wiping my phone. help is appreciated.
Hi
I am sure you will all tell me there are a million threads like this out there and to follow the steps previously posted but I think I have tried everything.
So I have a touch HD.
If I hold the volume + and - and press the power button I sometimes get it to enter the menu where it will go to the hard reset menu. If I then press the + volume button as requested this does nothing and then it returns to the red, green, blue and white screen looping round.
If I plug the phone into the power or my PC I get the red, green, blue and white screen looping continuously. I cannot get the phone just to charge.
I have been to the HTC site to get a ROM using my serial number but it tells me that it is invalid for my type of phone??!!
I have downloaded numerous ROMS from this site and they just wont install. In the installation procedure it doesn't recognise that I have a ROM there so it is obviously corrupted. At the end of this installation not working I have tried the recovery option which it says completes but then it wont installation the ROM after this and so continues to loop in the red, green, blue and white screen.
My SPL version is 1.14.0000
A step by step solution would be massively appreciated.
Thanks for reading!!
Just for further info. When I plug the phone into the PC I can't get it to connect via active sync as it just keeps reloading the Blue, Red, Green and White screen.
I have tried the mtty.exe fix running relevant tasks but the connection isn't there for long enough without it reloading the 4 coloured screen
help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally managed to 'update' the ROM using RUU_BlackStone_Orange_UK_1.14.405.3 how my phone still stays on the red, green, blue and white screen argh!!!
I really thought that once it had installed that would be it fixed!!
Any suggestions?
Someone please help!!
Can anyone help as I really dont know what I can do!
The only thing that I can get to communicate with the phone is the standard orange ROM. Even though this has supposedly installed correctly I am still stuck on the Tri-Colour screen!!
I advice you to do the Task29..
This completely erases your system partition and you can flash a new fresh ROM...and a new radio of course since the Task29 removes everything...
I will give you just a little guide - there are millions of guides how to flash.
1. Download: Radio 1.17 (!!!FOR BLACKSTONE!!!), USPL 2.5, ROM you wish to flash, Task29
2. In the bootloader (RGB screen) connect your USB cable and wait until "serial" changes to "USB", then run USPL and wait...phone reboots and you will see it say USPL at the top...
3. Run task29 with radio 1.17 (*.nbh file) in the same folder - google "how to task 29 xda" or something like that and you should find a guide (I think I read a decent one in Leo forum)
4. After you have Task29ed and flashed radio 1.17 enter bootloader again, run USPL and flash the ROM you want...I recommend Topix 3.6 for example - I use that one and it is pretty good.
You should be OK after doing this...google a lot while going through this guide because you will probably get stuck at some points...this is not detailed guide...just a simple one...
I hope it helps you.
Sopis is a HTC God!!!
Sopis!!!
Thankyou so very very very very very very very very very much!!!
Absolutely brilliant!!! I really didnt think I was going to rescue my phone!!
If your ever in Leeds I owe you a pint!!!
Thanks again
hi there, im new here and ive been searching on the forum for a long time, but i didnt see any solution for my problem... (or maybe i was blind) so when i was trying to flash back original ROM from bootloader screen through USB, it didnt show my current image version info on the screen, but it did show the image version that im going to upgrade... however, i still let it updated and it said its succeed. but when my phone going to reboot, it stuck on the "stick together" screen... btw, my phone is PB81120 SS-B3 SPL-2.08. HSPL 8G XE. hope someone can help me solve my problem... thanks first :]
Go into bootloader again and connect the device to your PC via usb (should show USB at the the bottom in bootloader) and run the Rom Update Utility again. But first make sure the ROM is compatible with TmoUS Hd2.
I would recommend flashing stock from the bootloader just to be safe.
but i was trying to install T-Mobile_HD2_MR_Software_2.13.531.1 under bootloader, and it still the same... :[
Was that what you origonally tried updating to? Or was it a custom rom you had tried?
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
that was the latest i tried to updating to, or any different kinds of version of original ROMs... before, i tried to update a custom ROM on it first, but it failed :[ actually, when i first got my phone it was unlocked, so while i was waiting to get the unlock code for it, i decided to install android on it... later on i had successfuly putting android on it, and by that time i got my unlock code too. then i typed it in and my phone just reboot and stuck on the "stick together" screen till now... so i started to look through the forum and found out that most ppl said is to reflash the ROM back to the original one first, and then everything would be alright... but i guess it didnt work on my phone D:
Have you tried a hard reset? (Hold both volume buttons while booting)
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
yeah... i tried everything :[
hi,
don't worry, your problem is resolvable. (as long as you see something on screen, you are lucky.)
1) When the stick together screen comes, do you see any numbers on left bottom after waiting for some time say 1 min.
if yes, then your problem is missing OS image only.
in this case, take out the battery. after that, keep volume down pressed all the time and insert battery again. press power button, if mobile does not start immediately. please keep volume down button pressed till the time tricolor screen does not come on. after that connect cable to computer and update normally.
2) If you don't see any number, it may mean multiple things, which all are resolvable. (most likely bootloader stuck in another mode.)
in any case, try steps in given in 1 and report back. before reporting back please install mtty on your computer as it is needed to send commands to mobile to get out of this mode.

Hi
A friend of mine has a HD2, never HSPL or anything and still running on 1.42 rom.... Now everytime it boots it goes straight into the bootloader. Since its never been messed around with I find it odd, seen it before with people with other phones. Would this just be a corrupted ROM and therefore it goes there, would if poss a stock rom flash be able to restore the phone, if that is not the case then a warranty return is still valid, but obv not wanted.
What do you think, will this work? I did search but everyone's posts come up with I task 29 and now stuck... etc and not from a stock bootloader as well!
Cheers any help will be appreciated, my first thing I will get him to try is a rom reflash but that will be tonight, I'll update on the progress then!
First thing I would check is if his volume button is stuck for some reason. Second would be to see if it detects a USB connection, then hard spl and new rom from that point. Keep us posted.

The post above me is correct check and make sure the volume down button is not stuck/Hung in the down position. If it is stuck in the down position like it is being held down at boot then this is the cause of it going straight to bootloader at boot up. If there is no problem with the volume down button then try a hard reset of the HD2. Warning this will reset your friends HD2 tolike it was fresh out the box so any photos, videos, documents, and etc that is not on the SD card they will lose. Also any contacts that are not backed up withan app like Microsoft My Phone will be lost. To do the reset while the HD2 is off bold the volume up and the volume down buttons down and press and bold the power button down. When you see the tri color screen come up release the volume and power buttons and follow the instructions on the screen (hint: you will want to press the vume up button). Now if after the Hard reset your friends HD2 still goes to bootloader at boot up then download and flash the stock ROM for their HD2 you can find it on HTC.com but make sure you varifiy that it is for their HD2 by entering the serial number of their HD2 you can find the serial number look under the battery. To flash the ROM let the HD2 boot up to the bootloader and then connect it to the computer via USB cable and wait for the Serial in the white bar of the boooader screen to change to USB and for your computer to show it recognize the pbone and then run the .exe or RUU wich everone the ROM has.
Never thought of the key being held done will try that first.
Also I won't HSPL'ing as its in warranty and a half HSPL'ed phone is well useless
OK so i feel like a bit of an idiot for this one. Turns out what I call a bootloader and he does is totally different. For me Its the tri-colour screen, for him its the red/orange windows boot screen. So it was all solved by a HR. Great..
Sorry for those who offered the advice but it really was not needed. but solid advice it was, you always can rely on help in here
