This problem has been posted before but I haven't been able to find any solution yet.
I have a UK T-mobile G1.
I started getting the error "Unable to start Wi-Fi", tried updating to JF v1.51 and the latest radio rom installed as well. Don't have any apps as I've tried wiping the handset as well.
Any help would be appreciated
Absolutely sure you have the latest radio? Try wiping and loading a different ROM, as well. If a 2nd ROM still has that issue, it sounds like hardware failure - exchange it.
after reboot and sending the new rom i got this error, the device restart and the update is not applied
any hint?
error 155 during install update HTC Hero
I got the same message 155 during the ROM update for my HTC Hero. It should be a flash issue. The space for install the Image on the flage should be too low. I don't understand this, because the space on my flash (after a hard reset) is 155Mb. The downloaded file is 103Mb. Enough I think.
I have 489 MB free on the card, if a minimum space is needed htc should write it on the read me...I don't think this is the problem (but I'll try with another card tonight)
from HTC support only say to re download and reinstall, I've done this many time on my pc (XP sp3) and a couple of time at work (on Vista)
I'm happy I'm not the only one with this issue , so keep in touch!
confirmed: with empty 8GB sd card, same results
nobody else with this error?
same problem here... but this this worked for me (got it from another thread):
-------------------------------
Install HTC-sync
Connect the phone with the cable with the pc
Select on the dropdown-screen : sync --- THIS IS THE IMPORTANT STEP
Install the firmware update
---------------------------------
Also, note that I formatted the micro sd card before starting the installation.
After I got a successful installation message on the PC, my phone didn't restart. I got out the battery, reinstalled and everything is fine.... installed with the new version.
still doesn't work for me. But i also noticed i've got a problem the syncing my phone with HTC sync. I use HTC sync 2.0.4 and before i tried to update i,ve never used HTC sync before on my android
I mailed HTC and the told me the would have a look at this problem.
i've solved too, is not a problem of htc update software
the first owner of my hero negate that the phone is rooted, but i've found installed an SPL, so I think this cause the problem
i could restore the orginal one, but meantime i'm playing with the last modaco
hope can help
I know for sure my phone isn't rooted. And i have the same problem. I even called the htc helpdesk and the also could not help me. Htc offert me to colect the phone and install the update themselve

Click to collapse
how did you restore the hero to the original one? I've been trying to do that for months and I'm getting frustated, would you please help me...
i've never did it (modaco custom rom worked fine form me), I think you can try restoring the original recovery:
download from here and put it in the tools folder of sdk
then launch:
Code:
fastboot boot cm-hero-recovery.img
hope this solve the problem, good luck

So I have a new problem. I have updated the v1 rom to 7712. And ran the 1OEM_8X50_NK_SD_REMOVE.cab fix, but could not find the coutulla fix.
Now I cannot update to 7720 with the low space error, I cannot sync any files with zune, I cannot flash v2 with MAGLDR (give usb init error while running as admin), and I cannot even flash to stock with HardSPL.
I have also tried a hard reset several times
Is there anything I can do?
i always get usb init error when i first run rom update or MAGLDR but i close it and try again and then works, try to run it several times until it works
does't work. tried 10 times. I cannot even flash through HardSPL
Here they are. Hope this helps you.View attachment 2OEM_8x50_NK_SD_710_COTULLA_FIX.cab

Hi Guys,
A few days ago, I upgraded to Mango via the shortcut method, you know where you pull out the usb pin right after zune searches for phone update... Well Mango was successfully installed but I am facing an issue with zune now. My Zune installation does not recognize the phone. Also, whenever I connect the phone to the PC, it searches for the drivers and asks me to reinstall Zune again. I have reinstalled it a couple of times thinking there might be a updated Zune or something, but am still facing the issue. Can anyone please let me know :
1) How to get rid of this issue?
2) Is there a way that I can reinstall Mango?
I have searched many forums regarding this and a common solution that I found was installing "MangoB2-DevRetailUpdate.exe" file...
Can anyone guide me on this
Thanks in advance !!!
Try to download and install the latest version of zune,

this might fix the problem for you
Try different USB ports, cables, another PC. Last resort a hard reset on the phone.
