Same on most tabs. I think thats to prevent the battery from overcharging.

I believe the charging circuit shuts down when the battery level reaches 99%. It's a safety feature to protect against overcharging.

thank you for explanation, I thought it was my Tab problem... Now I'm calmed

It is able to charge to 100%, just that it needs sometime. Mine took about 1 to 2 hours to reach from 99% to 100%. After reaching 100%, you will see the indication with battery icon (full bar) on the notification bar (on top of the screen).
Battery life will be optimized and you won't see drastic charge from 99 to 90% within mins.

Double entry.

That is true. To increase lifetime u should always charge it to 100%, for me it takes 1hour from 99% to 100%,

1-2% discharge of X1 battery after removing it from charger?

Ever since I have had my X1 then I charge my X1 eventough it says 100% in the display, then I remove it from the charger it suddenly says 98%.
Whats up with that??
The modded battery driver is not accurate at high percentages. Your Battery isnt discharging. The displayed percentage is not 100% true .
Just plug your phone again for several minutes and it should display 100%

Evo Battery with 1.47 OTA Massive FAIL!

Since applying the 1.47... OTA, I can literally watch the battery drop minute by minute while the phoe is active.
Within the first 1 minute of removing the phone from the charger the Battery Status Pro reports the charge droping from 100% to 97%. That's a 3% drop in 60 seconds.
Within the first 3 minutes of active use BSP reports the battery drops to 93% charge. That's 7% loss in less than 200 seconds of use.
Now I'm not saying BSP is 100% accuerate but I expect it's not too far off.
Battery life with the Evo has never been phenominal but this seems rather extreem. The drop seems far faster now than when running the 1.32 release. And... while I am in a 4G enabled market, this is with 4G disabled and the phone running purely on 3G with no flickr, twiter, facebook or other feed widgets running and autosync disabled for all of them.
When I look at Battery Use under settings / About Phone / Battery the Android System is by far the largest user of battery, nearly twice the next closest user which is Cell standby.
Am I the only person experiencing this?
The phone was doing this before the 1.47 OTA, it's a problem with charging the battery in the phone. It does not charge properly for some reason and it will drop all the way down into the 80's within an hour of unplugging it. If you get an external battery charger and use it to charge the battery the phone will stay on 100% for an hour or more...
Have you removed the HTC people widget from home screen? The day I removed that was the beginning of decent battery life. Also try turning off the phone when charging - seems to work better that way.
I would try charging to 100%, unplug, wipe the battery, plug it back in again until the light turns green and try again and report back.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I wondered if it was the powered off portion of that battery trick that was doing it. Hmmm. I'll have to watch. Is there any link/source on the idea that the phone itself is not working so well at charging?
Out of that voodoo on the getting better battery life the only thing I could come up with was...-charges better when off, - you need to charge for a bit while on to reset the battery indicator, - and charge a bit while off to top it up.
So I was leaning toward it being a charging thing and not a battery thing...would like to see any technicals though and not just my guessing.
People widget has been long gone.
I gave the charge it with the phone powered off thing a try. The device was down around 80% charged when I powered it off and plugged it in. In about 5 minutes the charge indicator turned from amber to green as if it were fully charged.
I can't believe that the battery charged 20% in 5 minutes.
This leads me to believe that the first response is correct. The battery simply isn't charging fully in the phone. I believe I'll look for an external battery charger and give it a try. See if it makes a difference.

Seriously, try full-charge, wiping your battery data and then shutting it off and 'topping it off' and reevaluate the situation.
EDIT: The "topping it off" thing is all voo-doo as far as I'm concerned. I just do it to be safe, though I'm pretty sure it's ineffective.
I screw with my phone so much, so much flashing/restoring back and forth while on charge, between
charge, car charger, USB charge at work, wall charge, flashing again, kernel swap, restore back again...etc etc etc...that if I don't wipe my battery once I hit a full charge there is no way I can trust that meter to do anything more than change colors. I do it every few days when I notice the meter isn't being trustworthy.
If this doesn't work for you I'd say you probably have a bunk cell in your battery, and failing that your phone just might not be charging well.
Also, charge with the wall and not USB. USB takes forever. And 20% in 5 minutes isn't TOO far off if you are plugged into the wall and getting full-power charge. Maybe 10-12ish minutes, unless you were timing it very specifically....
I just got my bricked replacement. Here is the data from a 100% charged battery usage up time 18:13 .. Awake time 15:27 the battery is at 87%
funny im getting 20 + hours a charge after the OTA
with heavy usage

Battery level: 99% after full charge!

Every time when I plug my A500 for recharging, after the power button turned to white (or a kind of light blue...) indicating the device is fully charged, when I take a look at the battery stat, it shows "99%".
So, I noticed I only got "100%" when I boot the device while charging...
Is that common? The boot time drains 1% of battery till start the system???
It's really just an estimate of charge and you can't really take the number at face value.
I don't recall if the stock battery information shows you the actual voltage RIGHT NOW, but that's a more relevant number than the percentage shown.
An example is on my phone where it will show a fully charged battery to be at 4.210V which usually corresponds to 100%. When it says 4.210V, I know it's completely topped off regardless of what the percentage says. So there's some correlation between the voltage and what it regards that as a percentage of possible charge.
So it's not really using 1% at boot up. That's just a margin of error you can ignore.

Well... Ok, as long as it`s not an issue...
Sometimes mine says 100% at full charge, sometimes it says %99.
I wouldn't sweat it.

If you charged it for 6 hours and it said 60%, you'd have a real issue. But 1% is really within the realm of tolerance, margin of error, etc. Definitely ignore it.

Battery indicator questions

I just put wp7 mango 7740 on last night. I charged my phone overnight, when I woke up it was only at 60%, I rebooted the phone and then it said 100%. I assume its showing the correct percentage now, but if I were to start charging the phone, the percentage would be incorrect unless I reboot it after charging?
should I use this guide to fix the battery status?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933751
if I dont fix it, how am I suppose to know when to charge the phone and adjust my usage so I get through the day?
Was the led indicator green when you wake up,and battery shows only 60%?

yes. then I rebooted the phone and it showed 100%. I'm getting the percentage from the battery saver in the settings menu.
That happens to me,only i got like 80,85%.I unplug phone and plug it in again on charger, and it gets 100%.Try that, maybe it helps I got 1 day max battery life...

does it go to 100% instantly? or do you have to wait like 30 minutes or something?
I let mine run down to 93%, and plugged it in for about 30 minutes, and its at 100% now and green light is on. maybe I don't have any issue with the battery then, maybe the reboot fixed it? I thought I read that all the hd2 with mango read the battery percentage incorrectly though?
It doesnt go to 100% instantly,it takes some time.Yes Mango have some issues with battery, but i dont know exactly which. As i understand,it don't let battery to fully charge, but not sure...Maybe someone will be able to explain that
One I wish for battery fix. Its the biggest wp7 problem

Battery Problem !

Hi guys, got a little problem with my battery..
Sometimes if i check my battery stats in settings i see that my battery go's up for a while (like recharge his self) and its not even on a charger
And when i charge my battery on charger .. like 32% it jumps to 45% ..
don't know what's wrong with that battery
*when i pull the charger out of the phone.. it go's down from 100 to 99 in 30 sec
I try to reset the stats with *#0228# ,hit quick start, reboot and charge till 100% but without results. .
Try draining and charging while phone is off... That used to help me with random battery issues
