[Q] Is my phone compatible with WP7? - HD2 Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting an

I want to install Windows Phone 7 successfully on my HD2. I have been reading through these forums for about an hour now, and I cannot seem to find a consistent answer if my phone is compatible or not.
I have:
HTC HD2 by T-Mobile with 1024 Flash Memory. Model #: T-Mobile_LEO
Some threads are saying that I need HSPL2, some are saying HSPL3 works also. And one of them is saying that the models with 1024 Flash memory isn't compatible at all.
So can someone direct me to the right thread that can let me install Windows Phone 7.
I have not done any flashing, or modding to my device yet.

As you can read here the WP7 rom is compatible with all HD2 devices (512 and 1024mb): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=953078
You need to flash Hard SPL 2.08 with HSPL4 and then install MAGLDR 1.13 and after that you can flash the WP7 rom.
Its important that you use a 2.15 radio rom so you have to flash it before.
So:
1. HSPL4
2. Radio Rom 2.15
3. MAGLDR 1.13
4. WP7 rom
Just read the threads here for more information.

Sorry that I am new to all this, but I did a HardSPL 2.08 through HSPL4, and I updated the Radio ROM to 2.15, and installed MAGLDR 1.13. Now when I start my phone I get to a black screen with 12 options. Is this normal? I did read that MAGLDR has these options, but how do I boot onto my WP6.5, or is that OS now gone? And how do I proceed to installing WP7 on my HD2?
EDIT: I figured it out. Thanks for all the help! Working Windows Phone 7 finally .

[Q] How to install MAGLDR for installing Android 2.2 or 2.3 on HD2?

I read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893620
about how to install android 2.2 on HD2, but I can not get MAGLDR 1.13 installed first. I downloaded the package and ran ROMUpdateUtility.exe, it says updating ROM verion 3.14.831.3 to 2.00.000.0, I proceed with next, then the phone went to 4-colour screen mode, shows SPL version is 3.03. Later on, it goes to black screen with only HTC logo the 0% progress bar on. Few minutes later, the installation on my computer said error[262], update error.
I wasn't sure if I need to downgrade the SPL to 2.08, as people said in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=829954 it does not matter.
My HD2 has the lastest rom listed on HTC - HongKong English support site.
Please advise what I need to do to get MAGLDR installed?
Thank you.
That thread is from before MAGLDR even existed. You need 2.08.HSPL to flash MAGLDR.
You can get all the info you need here .

Thanks for your reply.
I just got the HSPL4 and installed the 2.08.000, not 2.08 SPL on my HD2.
But when I tried to install the MAGLDR 1.13 again, it did the same thing again, it goes to black screen with only HTC logo the 0% progress bar on. Few minutes later, the installation on my computer said error[262], update error.
Any idea?
It seems I need to install 2.08 SPL, not 2.08.000 in HSPL4.
It works fine now.
u need 2.08HSPL and a 576mb ram radio..

[Q] how do you activate the htc hd2 ram

I have 448mb ram on my htc hd2 and I heard that it actually has 576mb of ram but it is not activated. I need 576mb of ram in order to install MAGLDR.
so can someone please help and tell me how to activate the 576MB of RAM
thanks in advance
Installed software on phone:
ROM: 3.14.405.2 (04666) WWE
RADIO: 2.15.50.14
HSPL: 3.03.0000
I need 576mb of ram in order to install MAGLDR

Not correct.
Magldr will activate the ram for you, you don't need to activate it in advance, and indeed if you did activate it (tmous based rom plus 2.08.50 radio or higher) then flashing magldr will remove the rom that activated it in the first place.
So long as you have a correct radio (2.08.50.x or higher) then magldr will work and the ram unlocked. Without the correct radio magldr wont start till you have flashed correct radio.
I have 3.14 rom and radio 2.15.50 would that work???
Where can I download tmous based rom plus 2.08.50 radio or higher???

The radio you have will work, just flash MAGLDR and then flash CWM (look in the ROM thread foe CWM portition size) and then flash your ROM. Click the guide linked in my sig for more assistance, look for the two complete how to install Android guides I have linked at the top of my guide.

please help,thnx
HSPL???
Sent From My Fingers To Your Face.....
i think it is normal for the device to get stuck on the htc splash screen after installing magldr...
this is because magldr is just a LOADER...your device still needs a ROM (which was removed when you install magldr)...after flashing magldr, you need to boot into magldr (turn on device and keep holding down the power on button until magldr appears). then, you need to go to the section in magldr for flashing a magldr compatible ROM. just read the stickies, you will find a guide in there that describes ALL of these steps in much more detail.

No MAGLDR is the ROM on the HD2 until it has a Android or WP7 ROM to boot. So until you give MAGLDR a ROM to flash your HD2 will boot straight into the MAGLDR menu and that is it. The OP is saying that MAGLDR is not even booting up.
At the OP if you have a 2.15.50.xx radio and HSPL 2.08 on your HD2 you should not be having a problem. But like Canontroutman said if you do not have HSPL 2.08 then this is probably your problem. I was under the impression though that if you did not have HSPL 2.08 that MAGLDR would not flash. Which now that I think about it sounds like what is happening to the OP. I just thought you would get a error message from the RUU.

Is this HD2 screwed?

Okay guys, am I screwed?
I tried putting android on this HD2.
I successfully installed HSPL 2.08 HSPL (So NO 2.08.0000)
Then I tried installing MAGLDR 1.13, just by executing the ROMUtilityUpdater.exe.
Clicked the first checkbox, then the 2nd, and then that 'Update' thingy.
It was going to updating from 1.72.XXXXX to 2.00.0.000 (or something)
I had it connected through Activesync (WinXP).
It was ready in 30seconds, instead of the normal 10 minutes.
Now it just hangs on the White HTC bootscreen.
I tried doing a Task29, but in the RGB Bootloader (USB connected) screen it won't connect to ActiveSync. I Ran it anyway, but still no Windows or MAGLDR.
Do I need to install a different Radio? If so how do I do that and where can I find it?
I am downloading a stock WinMo 6.5 Rom (vodafone branded, from HTC.com)
Thanks for all the help in advance!
had simillar problem. I would just install the latest Windows ROM 3.03 but thru SD card (Download official 3.03 ROM for Your phone, extract it, change the nbh file name to LEOIMG, put it on Your SD card, Switch the phone on holding volume button down, and then go with the instructions on the screen) cuz it changes Your SPL, then install HSPL 4. After that install CLK and CLOCKWORK and then NAND Your device with clk version android.
Look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1021837 if You dont know how to install clK. It is a bit complicated but if You are a bit computer literate You should be ok.
Okay, thanks!
I installed a stock vodafone rom, it is booting now!
so where do i find 2.15 pesky radio 2.15 rom?
I installed HSPL using HSPL in the first place

[Q] HTC HD 2 Boot hangs at HTC Logo after installing MAGLDR

Hello,
I followed this guide : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7909725&postcount=2 With extreme caution, and after I installed HSPL I went installing MAGLDR it all installed fine. And it booted again, but ik kept hanging at the HTC Logo.
Please help me. I seriously do not know what I need to do now !
Thanks in advance
edit: was waiting for your response, but now m sleeeeeepy. so at this moment all i can say is revert to your windows mobile OS or try a smaller android rom like tytung rom which doesnt need so much flashing instruction..
yawwwwwwn, , , magldr wont start unless spl is ONLY 2.08.hspl, no other will do. 3.03.hspl is wrong, anything except 2.08.hspl is wrong.
AND AND AND AND AND AND AND
radio MUST be a x.xx.50.x tmous radio (2.15.50 for example)
if either is wrong, magldr wont appear.
Enter bootloader
if spl doesnt = 2.08.hspl then change it to 2.08.hspl
if spl IS 2.08.hspl then get radio 2.15.50 and flash it.
Reboot, magldr will start.
( I yawwwwned because this gets asked and answered EVERY DAY, and it tells you about teh spl AND radio in magldr thread post 1, , ,you DID read teh magldr opening posts, right? you didnt just flash some unknown software because some video said to?? hehehe)

MAGLDR 1.13
After long (about 4 months) under awful developing, DFT proudly presents MAGLDR bootloader - The first bootloader with built-in Tetris!
LEO512 and LEO1024 are supported both.
MAGLDR doesn't replace OSPL/HSPL. It runs in the chain after. So it's safe to install and remove it.
You need HardSPL 2.08 before installation!
History:
V1.11 fixed "GO GO GO stuck issue".
V1.12 added WPH support.
V1.13 added AD Recovery support, fixed few bugs.
Installation:
You need radio which support 576 RAM.
Run ROMUpdateUtility.exe and install it.

Thanks samsamuel, your accurate description showed up nicely in search and solved my problem. Man I just love this forum!

[Q] Problem staying connected NAND while magldr downgrading to 2.0

hi all,
we are trying to put android on a HD2 but i work work because we get disconnected from the moment i start downgrading the phone to 2.0.
anyone got a clue to fix this lil problem ?
regards Remon and Teymur
i THINK what you mean is downgrading to spl 2.0??? if i'm correct what you want to downgrade to is actually Hspl 2.08 (if on a USA branded HD2 with 1024 nand and red/green call/end buttons) CHANGING TO HSPL MUST BE DONE FIRST (only the radio can be flashed before)
i can't remember what Hspl is for the EU Leo ... Hspl 3.x ... i believe.
hope i helped. cheers

we are running spl 3.03.0000 now and we need to get it to hspl 2.08 i believe in order to do magldr so we can actually install android on it.
but the usb disconnects we we try magldr to get it to hspl 2.08,
so we probably need an alternative way.
got any clues ?
you need to flash hspl before magldr via bootloader (tri-color screen) then flash mad, etc
Phone off
Into bootloader
Connect USB
run Hspl4 ... make sure you choose 2.08.hspl only
When it reboots go straight back into bootloader
USB
Run magldr installer (no need to change radio if you were running 3.14 rom cos radio will already be fine (((previous post that said radio can be flashed without hspl is wrong)))
When it reboots it will start magldr menu
Choose USB flasher
Use nand toolkit to apply partitioning your target rom requires-this step will also apply cwm (clockwork)
Restart into magldr, option 8 ad recovery
In cwm recovery choose advanced partition SD card (assuming you want an ext partition to increase internal storage,)
Back into cwm mounts and storage, mount SD card, copy across the new rom.zip
In cwm choose flash zip from SD
That's it.
oh, thanks sam. i wasnt sure if anything could be flashed before or not. i knew radio had something special about when it can be flashed, like it needed to be flashed first (if need be) right?

if you were starting from stock, the radio would either be the second or third thing you flashed, , HSPL first, then magldr and radio in either order.
magldr simply wont start 'till the radio (and hspl) are correct.
