Hi at all,
I am thinking about changing my current Android OS (Android 2.2 Stone Sense), which I use via a Dual Boot from my SD card with the SuperRam Froyo v1 by darkstone. (Hope it will run faster)
Now my question is how do i keep my apps which I purchased from the android market and make sure no apps get lost?
thanks in advance.

the app that you brought will stay with your google account...after installation, just sign in your google acount and the app you brought will just start download if you have internet.
Ah! Ok, that's how it works.
Thanks!

hay guys sorry id some of you get mad for me posting this here but this is the only place i know my qustion will get answered. OK im new to the windows phone deal. i have a mytouch slide and a g1 rooted so i under that hole part here is my ?.
From what i have read on the forums only build roms work with the hd2. well i would like to put android on it but after looking around most the roms on here and the links on here for putting android on the phone all lead to the LEO forum is the correct or no if not can someone tell me were to get the most resent android rom for the hd2 usa, now there seems to be two ways of installing it one is from sd card and 2 is from boot i would like to do it from boot any help would be grate thanks all and happy modding
Someone correct me if I am wrong...
There are not TWO ways of doing android.
Android is ALWAYS installed on the SD card. The only way to "boot" to it is to have your WM configured to boot the two files from your SD card required to run it, in essence there are a few apps that can do this at WM startup.
You will still need an Android friendly Windows Mobile ROM, so the stock from will not work. You also need a compatible radio.
I would check out the HD2 Android Dev forum for more info though.

The Android port cannot replace the WinMo OS just yet. The only way is to install it to your SD Card and it will run off of that. There are apps that allow you to choose between WinMo and Android on bootup. The LEO Android forum is correct since Android builds do not matter which device it is booted on.
Android is able to run on the Stock ROM, but people have said it runs better with a different ROM/Radio.
The build I recommend is Energy ROM / Radio 2.12.50.02_2 and an Android Build of your choice, but you can always run it on the Stock if you feel like it.

Hi guys, I am new to this and I have been reading around, right now I am using -=MDJ FroYo HD v.4.6=-[FRG83D][kernel:MDJ S8.0] from SD but last days it has been so unstable , just today I rebooted like 8 times and my phone is still crashing after a couple of mins when android is loaded. So I am planning to format my sd and reinstall again.
Right now I have all backed up with Titanium app, so here is my question:
Since I am no expert (and non english speaker btw) do you recommend me to install again the same android build? or maybe install another one?
Thing is I have been reading that NAND builds (Android/WP7) are kinda unstable right now, so I am kinda afraid to move from SD to NAND, I am not really interested in WM 6.5 but I don't wanna harm my device.
So, any tips out there? Please include links, I appreciate it. Thanks

"Tytung's" builds, in my opinion, are the best; whether its and SD/NAND/GINGERBREAD Build. Check my thread link in my signature for info on all three.
i can recommend the new hyperdroid nand.
Another vote for tytung's build. I have nand nexus froyo 1.9b installed on my phone, only had once the phone didn't respond after stand-by. Also the charging bug because of magldr (but that's with every nand rom). It's my daily build and I love it.
Ok I think I will give the NexusHD2 build a try...
It is so confusing because I am a starter... but I will keep reading.
Thanks
hi guys,
i appologise in advance is this thread is in the wrong place.
i am currently using darkstone superRAM froYo v1.5 and cant seem to copy my sim contacts to the phone, also i wanted to try gingerbread.....which is the current best gingerbread rom using the SD method? also are you able to copy simcard contacts?
thanks in advance for all your help
Go to your contacts, hit the menu/options button, import/export, then import from Sim.
That is for my Typhoon Gingerbread rom (NAND)
sorry, whats the difference between the NAND version and the SD card version
NAND Version runs from internal Phone Memory and SD Version runs from SD card.
Check out this thread for more information about flashing a NAND ROM.
i currently use darkstone superRam froyo v1.5.......can anyone recommend a good SD card Gingerbread rom?
thanks

depends highly on your preferences ... do you 1. like having winmo 6.x (and warranty if applicable) 2. want only android as main OS
both have pros and cons. personally i like having android on NAND because its more native (turn the phone on and it boots right into android as if it came factory installed) and windows mobile 6.x is a dead (officially no longer supported by MS)
one might prefer SD to have more freedom and ease switching between rom builds.
the decision (and intensive research on how to accomplish either SD or NAND) is ultimately up to you.
GOOD LUCK :-D
Definitly NAND as long as you dont have an app running under WinMob only.
Sent from my HTC Pyramid (HD2 Leo)
Of Course Nand, work a lot of smoother and who needs WM 6.5
Maybe if you need WP7 you can make Android on SD
I prefer sd
Since WinMo 6.5 is rubbish and you can do everything with Android in a faster and smarter way of course NAND is your choice.
I had this same question - I have an application that only works on WM6.5 - So I guess I will need SD?
Now I have to choose a ROM - Can anyone point me in the right direction - I want something stable, fast and not too much updating.

If you want try SD with Sense, look at this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1171237
Fast, stable, all work well. But not last version of Android...
If you don't plan on using both WinMo AND Android, I would definitely recommend NAND.
I tried both approaches and NAND ROMs are simply faster and more responsive (NAND memory is usually faster than SD).
If you are an HD2 Android beginner, you might first try to use an SD version to try things out and get the feel of the Andorid OS (SD builds are easier to install).
Then, if you decide that pure Android is the way to go, you can switch to a NAND build.
There are ROMs that are maintained in both SD and NAND versions - for example the AmeriCan Android, which I use and am totally satisfied with (SD: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1209474; and if I remember correctly, there should even be an Ice Cream Sandwitch version in the works).

RE: Shifting to Android
Hey,
I am finally thinking to move to android. Need help.
Have decided to get an dual boot option by installing android on SD Card.
Was thinking about AmeriCanAndroid AOSP HD2 GB2.3.7 CM7.2.
BTW need to know which is the best SD card Android Rom.
And are theses Prerequisites good enough to get android..??
SPL 3.03
Radio 2.15
Official HTC HD2 ROM v3.14
Any other suggestion in this regard will be great.
Looking for some quick reply.
Hi Adiyant, I have quite similar specification in my EU Leo: stock vodafone rom 3.14; spl3.03; radio 2.15.50.14; and running 3 android rom from SD:
Android ICS 4.0.4 Tosti Droid: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1492488 (trying the newest)
Android CM7 HyperDroid: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1585420 (stable & fast)
Android 2.3.5 + Sense 3.5 de MCCM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1289477 (trying Sense3.5)
Every ROMs are good, depending your needs. And it is very easy to change it. Search, read & enjoy the trip!
Thanks for the info.
But the links given are not working.

1. Strange problem. Are you sure you entered correct username & password? I am using AmericananDroid and never had such a problem.
2. You may transfer contacts from WM to Android, using Spb Migration Tool or any other migration tool. Also you may use MobilEdit or MyPhoneExplorer and copy your Outlook contacts to your phone.
moving now to android general section.

Thanks for the info.
Mentioned issues solved. Now I am on to fB, it says that a newer version is available, but as i go to the market it says your device is not compatible.
Please advise which fB application should i use or which one is the best one for HD2 android.
If you can provide me with link it will be really great.
Dual Boot
Just out of curiosity, why dual boot versus and fresh NAND install of Android?

Its simple, I can not leave WinMo. Its what makes this device wonderful.
Plus there are less complications and more options. Eg : I can install 3 SD Android ROM simultaneously with WinMO keeping all my things safe.
