I have dowloaded several apps claiming to be multi-touch and have only managed to use 2 fingers at once. So i thought i would download a test app designed to recognise more than 2 fingers. In the market it shows it recognising 5. so is the HD2 not cabable of recognising more than 2 fingers or is it a software limitation?
I have made a video of my HD2 (EU AUO Panel).
YouTube Link Click Here
correct it isnt capable of using more than 2 finger points
Why would you need more then two fingers?

Hey everyone.
Just wanted to show off DroidAtScreen -- an Android screen display program:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XiYWNnkZPL8
I've got it set to 30 frames per second for that video though it seems like less to me.
The UI exhibits some buggyness while asking for the 'adb' executable on Ubuntu (which I solved by adding vertical desktops through the virtual desktop preferences of the Ubuntu desktop).
Works well and supports landscape/portrait mode.

Presentation, and maybe in newer revisions projection (with a speed up in FPS).
It would be nice if there were an easy way to project an Android screen to different displays (like through mini USB).
I would love to watch some videos on my 32" LCD TV, or just show people some apps/games.
I'm running StreakDroid and haven't replaced any kernels and just tested how many multi touch points this mini tablet supports.
Sad to say, it only supports 2 multi touch points, pretty sorry for a device with such a nice big 5 inch LCD display!
Anyone getting anything different?
Is this being limited by the hardware or software?
I have yet to encounter a time when I have needed more than two... So pretty sorry for a 5" screen? Can you instead tell me when you would need more than two?

Using a piano or guitar app? I also just downloaded 4 player reactor which is perfect for a phone this size.
I think its a software limitation. I've never thought I needed more but I do play 2 player reactor and was thinking of getting 4 as both games are truly great on the 5" screen. But guess that's out or the question now.

Also, playing some games ... would be nice to have a third:
Joystick input, accelerator input, fire gun input = need 3 inputs
Movement, Look, Fire = 3 inputs
So, I could see a few places where having more than 2 inputs is nice.
Hi I'm wondering whether the Vega has multitouch problems like the desire and nexus one, also has anyone played games like Nova and how does it run and is it playable with the multitouch.

What multitouch problems are there on the Nexus 1 and Desire phones?
Can't speak for the Vega exactly but the Mobii is limited to 2 fingers, a 3rd one will stop all touch processing.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkGuMUjWt1c&feature=youtube_gdata_player in that video if you look at the nexus one when the points cross it snaps in to place but on the wildfire it doesn't

Can't reproduce this behavior on a PoV Mobii 10" with Corvus5 (with Multitouch Test).
Do you think you could make a video of it
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA Premium App
Strange, while making the video it went wrong just like the N1. In the middle of the screen it's very hard to reproduce the problem. At the edges of the screen the chances of crazy stuff happening increases.
Sorry if I got your hopes up

are you using modaco r8?? I have the same problem with that rom. Try corvus5 or cyanogenmod 7, multitouch works like a charm in this roms.

The EXACT same thing that happens on the Nexus One happens in the VEGA, when the two circles align in the same axis, they "boder" each other. To play games, like Brother in Arms i use the left-up corner for movement, and to right-down corner for camera. If you look for a TOTALLY game experience dont go ahead.

I read that well, we are limited to 2 fingers because of kernel headers, so nothing to be done there.
But I wanted to state that the controller in the Atrix is capable of "ture 12-bit multiple touch with independent XY tracking for up to 10 concurrent touches in real time with touch size reporting". source
That does not only mean we got up to 10 touches capacity, but that features that involve touch size are available. That means that when-if the bootloader gets cracked-sidestepped we could enable function to lock the screen like the Zune, where putting a big touch size locks the screen. A very useful thing especially if you put it in your pocket (facing your leg)
..................
Forgive my ignorance, but what's the use of more than 2 fingers touching the screen?
I've bought my Atrix but haven't started using it yet , wanna root, install custom and invisible shield b4

I heard this from another forum member and haven't tried it, but I believe Cut the Rope can use more than two touches. Is it even on the Market though...?
I haven't seen any apps/games that use more than 2 touches, but I'm sure there is good potential for some.
Basically it would be like a Apple touch pad for using swipe, double swipe or triple swipe.
I do, was trying to play xenogears on FPse earlier on, then I realise I'm stuck at the bloody forest part when u need to simultaneously press O and triangle as well as the directional pad to jump onto the huge tree trunk in order to move on to the next area.
SNES, PSX, GENESIS and other emulators may require 3+ touch.

Update: When you enter the game you need to wait for a few minutes and it will start recognizing your touch and you can play the game!!
And once you part there's no lag inside of the game!!

Thanks for the information. It is an awesome game and I thought I would need to put a GB rom to play it.
I got the no-touch problem on angry birds but not bad piggies . Rovio seriously needs to work on an update, both these two apps.
