Has anyone else noticed that scrolling left and right on the home panels gets stuttery when the Xoom is upside down (landscape orientation) so that the logos are on the bottom?
does it in portrait too
I've noticed
On my Xoom, scrolling the pages in the orientation you mentioned did shutter the scrolling effect slightly, not so much that one might notice off the bat, but it can be noticed after the initial realization. It's not something I find too troublesome, however with you making me realize this, I will do some testing with some apps and see if it shutters other effects upside down.
I did not notice any shuttering in portrait mode.

Has anyone thought about trying to make another animation when you go into landscape mode? Maybe something a little smoother? I'm not sure if it could be done but with UltimateLaunch and other cube programs out there, I thought it would be an improvement over the default.
I'm not sure what you're talking about, but of the box, our devices have NO rotate screen animation at all... just a lag as it tries to redraw the screen at a 90 degree angle.
If the device were fast enough, it would be instantaneous. There is NO "animation" there to smooth out.
Unless you added a third party app which animates (which would just further slow the process down), there isn't much you can do but load a firmware that makes the screen respond as fast as possible (if you haven't already).
do some of the custom roms increase the speed of the screen redrawing itself?
Some custom roms are faster than others, but almost all of them are faster than the stock rom with screen redraws.
does anyone else experience a frame rate drop when they switch thier phone into landscape mode?
i am using the TOPIX 2.92 rom (most stable in my opinion) and when i switch it into land scape mode the scrolling speed takes a hit in performance. this is also true when playing some games that can switch into land scape mode. i also see vertical lines into the icons/photos when scrolling photos in land scape/. when its in portrait it is smooth as butter in scrolling. any others see this?
I started to get very annoyed with this problem.
When I use opera, and enter a web page with lots of images (eg. lifehacker.com), I can't seem to zoom in enough to have clear, NON-choppy, images. It seems like the more I zoom pass the double-tap, images just gets worse and more pixellated.
Is there something I am doing wrong? Is there a fix to this?
I've applied the tweak where I can see whole webpages instead of "zoomed-in" versions that came stock.
Don't know if this is the problem causer.
AFAIK, double-tap sets "zoom level" to 100% (1 image pixel= 1 screen pixel), any more is enlarging and inevitably leading to choppy images.
EDIT: Actually, double-tap seems to already be more than 100%, a 200pix wide image on my gallery is rendered as 350 pixels on screen after a double-tap.
What are your opinions on running fullscreen apps? If I run a fullscreen app there is a little trigger at the bottom / right side of the screen, depending on the orientation. I think it is a little annoying, because sometimes I have to touch the far right side of the screen inside the app, and I accidently open to button bar instead.
How are videos handled? If you watch a video in fullscreen, do you still get the little trigger icon at the right side of the screen?
I've noticed with certain apps the screen is a little jumpy/odd.
At times it's just buttery smooth, but with others......
I'm wondering if it's a setting thing.
Teamviewer is a bit jumpy when scrolling around.
Run catlog and try scrolling the log up and down. It gets very 'smeary' and the refresh goes nuts.
inheritage:Boe was also choppy at times
I've noticed that too. Particularly when using sliders. You know, to increase brightness, saturation & so on.
