Fullscreen Apps - 7" Kindle Fire HD General

What are your opinions on running fullscreen apps? If I run a fullscreen app there is a little trigger at the bottom / right side of the screen, depending on the orientation. I think it is a little annoying, because sometimes I have to touch the far right side of the screen inside the app, and I accidently open to button bar instead.
How are videos handled? If you watch a video in fullscreen, do you still get the little trigger icon at the right side of the screen?

[Q] scrolling problems with rooted Nook ST

After some hassles, finally I have a rooted NST, and figured out how to add apps using adb wireless. All works well, but I have two minor problems:
The first is I have much difficulty scrolling through my apps. When I try to scroll, usually the screen blurs and stays with showing the same apps. Sometimes when this happens, a duplicate image of an app on the app page appears on the you tube page.
Why is scrolling through apps so difficult - sometimes it's ok but usually it is not? What is the best method for scrolling right or left on the app page?
The second problem is that of duplicates of apps on my you tube screen after trying to scroll - I'd like to delete them from this screen and leave a pristine you tube page, or at least replace a few with selected apps - right now I have several duplicates of the market app on this page. How to do this?
You have to flick faster to change launcher screens. Flicking slightly only scrolls the screen to the right or the left.
Hold down the app icon and then select remove, or drag to move it to other launcher screens.
tehriddler,
Thanks. I'll use these techniques to work faster with the Nook.

Partial Cracked Screen Fix (without replacing)

The bottom of my N7 screen cracked but the device is still very usable. The bottom half inch will not respond to touch, but everything above that point works just fine! I'm hoping for a way to expand my navigation bar size, or bump it up to leave my screen blank under it.. Any help will be greatly appreciated and I have some $ in PayPal as a thanks. Any help as in a ROM that allows a Nav Bar Resize.. A way to move it to the top of my tablet screen... Some way I can put a google search bar under it or anything to waste that space. Thanks for ideas, hoping to save my N7 and keep it usable without having to rotate it everytime I need that portion of my screen!

I could have sworn I've seen navbar mods somewhere. You could always consider using PIE controls, however, if you want to remap them to the left/right screen edges.
Thanks for the quick reply. Pie Controls is a very useful work around for now. The app would be amazing if it let me choose exactly where on the screen I could pull up the navigation bar, but even without that option it is a great help!
I've seen some Mods but all of them seem to shrink the Bar, not enlarge it.
The reason I want to extend the stock navigation bar isn't just to be able to touch the buttons but it also pushes all opened apps, my home screen, etc up past that point that is cracked... So while playing a game or in my options menus I would still be able touch the bottom of my screen, just above the navigation bar (which I can't do now.) Basically, the top of the Bar is the bottom of my touch screen and it isn't high enough for me to use the entire screen =(

LMT Launcher is a pie control interface. It allows you to open from anywhere on the left or right and you can setup gestures as well with it to do the navbar functions. Look it up here on xda.

Full screen browser

Is there anyway to hide the buttons on the bottom of the browser so that they dissappear similar to what happens when a video pulls up?
Full screen would be nice.

[Q] Scrolling issues with news apps

Is there some way to improve (enable?) better swipe scrolling in apps like BBC News (1.3.4) and the News/Weather app (Google?) that comes with rooting via NookManager?
I've tried both apps, in both portrait and landscape, and have one heck of a time getting anything like a scroll swipe to work. If I do manage to get almost one screen up (after removing many layers of screen molecules) then the next swipe often sends me back to the top of the page instead of further down!
If only scrolling could be ported to the hardware buttons as a general rule instead of only in a few isolated apps
So, has anyone found a solution for these two? I'm ready to ditch them.
[SOLVED] Whoa! So in playing around with these again I discovered that they have a counter-intuitive (to me) scroll behavior. The BBC app seems to require at least one upward swipe to move the page a little and then a tiny bar appears on the right edge of the screen which is like the vertical scroll bar on a desktop. This you must swipe DOWN over to continue moving the page up. The Google news/weather app is similar but there is no bar and you just go right to the upside down scroll swipe to get the page to scroll up. Who knew?

curved display corners blocking app content

Since the four corners of the screen are not square as with my old phone, it appears certain apps are not taking that into account and as a result, information is being cut off from view. See attached screenshot... does anyone have any suggestions or do I need to consider returning this phone because that is just crazy
To be more clear particularly the bottom left corner(in this example) nearly half of the time information is blocked from view
Yeah, I see that as well in apps that try to use the whole screen
Is it because you are using navigation gestures?

In that specific example, I suppose yes. But even with nav bar enabled, watching a video in landscape the same thing happens.. it's pretty annoying
