Google Process Application Keeps Shutting down. - G2 and Desire Z General

Like the title says. How do I prevent that and why is it doing that?
The main thing that happens is that I can open my contacts when this happens. My text message inbox loses the contacts information and just appears as phone numbers.
Its annoying and any information you have would be great.
Thanks!

XDA II Mini sends messages 2 times, how to fix?

My XDA II Mini always sends messages 2 times, sometimes together sometimes separately after a few hours. Same problem happened with my previous XDA II but after i've upgraded the 1.72 ROM for my XDA II this prob disapeared. Now with my XDA Mini it happens, how to fix this, is there any new ROM going to be released to handle the problem? Any idea will be welcomed.
I had the similar problem as well. But I found out that it was a bug. What you should do is when you send out a message, leave the phone in the messaging module till the Message Sent notification appears. When that happens the SMS will be sent once.
But if you send the message and before the message sent notification appears you close the messaging module, the SMS will be sent twice.
Try sending the SMS to yourself, trying both methods as mentioned you will notice the difference.
Miggs
SMS being sent twice often happens to those using SPB Pocket Plus, to solve it, try to add Exception in your 'Close Buttons' option, add 'tmail.exe' from Windows folder. That way, when you tap 'OK' on your Inbox, it wont be closed, but it'd run in background.
This bug is in all Pocket PC.
Thank klikman, work for me
wow i've been looking for info on this problem for ages. i'd almost given up. this should be in the wiki or stickied or something. (thread necromancy, i know)
Actually the problem is, when Messaging is closed before the "Message Sent" notification is displayed, sometimes the sms has already been sent but haven't been registered in the database. The next time you start Messaging, it detected that it has not sent the sms, so it send it again.
Now, this happens with any application that closes application when you tap the "X" button, eg: Spb Pocket Plus, pBar, WSTask, ect.

Wrong Name For Text Messages?

Is anyone else having issues with the wrong name being displayed in the notification bar and/or the message thread?

Actually it happened just one time. showed the wrong name in the thread on the top. Rebooted and it fixed itself. No clue why or how but hasn't happened ever since

I have rebooted multiple times. Plus it has occurred when my phone was unrooted and now that it is rooted.

Try clearing the cache for the messaging app.

I had it happen quite frequently with one particular friend's name and photo appearing. Upon investigation, I discovered that friend's Facebook account listed a blank phone number and was linked to my own entries. The blank number apparently matched a variety of non-standard SMS numbers including those long numbers used for email-to-SMS. Unlinking and removing his Facebook entry solved the problem until he fixed it on his end. Might be something to look for.
Happened to me on stock and earlier lag fixes, hasn't happened since I had to reflash and installed new lag fix.
Solution? Delete that persons inbox, it always happened when high volume of texts would come. Then, I'd see two identical names threads in my inbox, one would be obviously for the wrong person. What's sad is that if you go and kill messaging via task killer, it fixes itself, but then it starts sending texts to wrong people, very annoying.

Any fix for this guys?
Yeah this has happened to me twice. I remember I was sending a video to my gf and it accidentally sent it to someone else. Or at least it looked like it went to someone else because the name was different. Thankfully they didn't receive it because it was a private video kind of haha.
I usually delete the 200+ text message threads and it fixes this issue.

But there's an option to have it auto delete when it reaches 200 messages per thread.

This problem seems to be an Android problem and not one specifically associated with the Vibrant.
There's a long discussion going on here: (sorry, I'm a new user and can't post URLs. So, add "www" to the following) : .google.com/support/forum/p/android/thread?tid=345259e6d424bad3&hl=en
Perhaps someone with some more experience with the code behind the standard messaging app can take a look and help figure out what's going on.
My "work around" has been to use a 3rd party SMS tool (e.g., Handcent) rather than the Android messaging app. The problem has not repeated for me using the 3rd party tool.

[Q] Messaging App: Phone number also listed

I thought I saw a similar thread on XDA, but maybe it was somewhere else.
When I receive text messages from someone in my contacts it also lists the phone number after the name. Really not necessary.
Is there any way to get rid of that?
I got rid of it by installing Handcent SMS.
That isn't fixing the problem, it's avoiding it. I actually really like the default messaging app, does anyone know if there is a way to make it not show the phone number?
I would like to know the same thing. It's really annoying.

Unfortunately, CloudAgent has stopped

Since the first day I got my Galaxy S4 i9505 I am repeatedly getting a pop up message saying "Unfortunately, CloudAgent has stopped.", as shown in the screenshot attached to this message.
Right before the message the smartphone freezes completely for a few seconds. It happens very frequently, several times a day.
How can I fix this problem? And what is that CloudAgent for?
Cloud agent is for Dropbox syncing

I disabled the service from the application manager and I haven't got the error anymore.
After I disabled it it disappeared from the list of all apps in the application manager. I wouldn't know how to enable it back if I wanted to.
Dropbox is still working fine, syncing automatically and everything else.
Root Cause
The SQLite statement doesn't like the apostrophe in my wifi name when receiving an MMS (multimedia text message)
Fix
Samsung Engineer: needs to 'escape' the APN so that punctuation is handled in SQLite. (It's actually a beginner-level mistake by the Samsung developer that implemented the code)
Phone owner: update your wifi's name to remove punctuation, like an apostrophe.

Fear not, when you disable an app it's automatically relocated to the bottom of the list, where you can re-enable it.

HELP! Message Notification dissapears

If I receive a text message, I get a notification in the top bar. If i receive a second text the notification disappears from the top bar and I have no way of knowing that I have messages until I open the app. This is extremely frustrating especially since I am away from my phone often at work.
Anyone have any ideas ?
Sounds like an app causing a conflict... does it do it in Safe Mode?
To enter Safe Mode, press power until the Shutdown confirmation pops up, then long press the notification and acknowledge Safe Mode... the next boot will not load any user applications in memory, just basic Android services, test it there and see if it is still a problem, if not you have an app that is conflicting, if it is still there I would try a factory reset and test again.
It does not occur in safe mode. How would I go about figuring out which app is causing the conflict

This is a carrier SMS (text message) issue? Remove any app you can that deals with SMS or texting except the stock app, that is where I would start. Or any app that monitors notifications. Unfortunately, this is a trial and error process. Do you have a lot of apps installed?
Either that or factory reset, then add apps one at a time until it breaks.
Yes, unfortunately, I do have a lot of apps installed. How would I go about seeing what apps deal with notifications or SMS. Thanks

Honestly, I don't know... Do you have lots of texting apps?
Just whatsapp
Any other ideas anyone ? It is extremely frustrating.
Test to see if WhatsApp is your conflict. Uninstall it long enough to see if it is the culprit. If it is and you want to keep using it, I don't know how to fix it, but at least you know more precisely where to start.
It is not WhatsApp causing the issue. Any other ideas ? I'm surprised no one else has had this issue. It is extremely frustrating.
I am still having this problem. I also get "unfortunately messaging has stopped." When receiving messages from one particular contact.
There are other apps that can do texting and act as a messaging app...I.e Facebook messenger, Hangouts, Skype, etc. The are also apps with access to messaging which you can find on permissions. As stated by acejavelin, you will have to start doing trial and error as this appears to be an app conflict if safe mode works. The easiest first step is to deny permissions to messaging and see if you can find the culprit.
Are you rooted by chance? I'm not asking you to root if you are not and I'm not claiming root is the issue. Try denying messaging app permissions first one by one. You can find this in Settings, Apps, tap the gear icon in top right, App permissions, SMS. If toggling one doesn't fix the issue, toggle the next one off. Just make sure to leave the stock messaging app on. If the text notifications problem persists, report back.
I'm not rooted. I am going to try this today. Thank you.
So I tried this and went through each app and denied permission of SMS to each one, one by one. The same thing happened everytime no matter what.

Denying permissions was an idea to try and make as painless as possible. The only options left for you to try are the most painful. However, as was asked once already, could this be something to do with your carrier (or your friends). While you could start uninstalling apps one by one, I would recommend doing a factory reset and start fresh when prompted (don't let Google automatically restore your apps). If upon a fresh install and update of system apps your message notifications don't work correctly, then it is a carrier issue most likely which you would need to take up with them. If message notifications work properly, then start installing apps one by one and testing as you go. Whether you uninstall or install one by one, it is not a quick process, but with a factory reset, you get a refreshed phone.
