[Q] Another touchscreen problem... Sorry.. - HD2 General

I like MANY others has run into a problem with the touchscreen. Unfortunantly. So the story short:
1. Installed NAND + some ROM - Everything worked fine
2. After 2-3 months the touchscreen temporarily wouldn't react (on the lockscreen)
3. I did a total wiping of everything on the phone to original WM6.5 , then reinstalled MAGDLR and Android - It worked perfect for a day
4. The next day it didn't react, so i reinstalled as in 3. but it didn't work
5. I removed HSPL but I couldn't get rid of android - So I called the repaircenter and the dude I was talking to said that it didn't matter if i delivered it with android
6. It took a week to get it back - But they didn't fix the screen, they just left a note saying: "There have been unauthorized software on the phone. Therefore void all warranty and repair options"
7. I ordered a T5 Torx screwdriver, took a look inside the phone to check if it was a loose connection between touch screen and main board, but nothing seemed like it....
--- Now, this puts me in a weird position. Ordering a new DIGITIZER or both digitizer and LCD.. The LCD isn't damaged in any way, but I read that it's hard to install the digitizer only.
What would you guys recommend?
BTW, when I hold the power key in the start screen of android the upper option is being marked (Check picture) Is that an indication that the digitizer is ****ed?

Bump for help

get on an android build, and if you can get your touchscreen working, DO NOT TOUCH THE END KEY. for me, the end key causes all kinds of touchscreen problems. download extended controls or a similar app, and that will let you power off/reboot/go into sleep without touching the end key, then always use the green key/windows key/back key/home key to wake up and you should be good.
let me know if this work.

Thanks, I'll give it a try when I get home some time today

you are not the only one with touchscreen problems i had it
flash stock rom and send for repair
they changed the whole screen on mine phone, its not android issue its htc issue and the connection with digitizer and motherboard it breaks when pressing end button

forgot to mention only use my method if you don't have a warranty (like me) or don't want to send it in.

HTC Hermes 200 Screen Issue

Hi,
I'm pretty distressed at the moment. On Sunday while out I noticed that the alignment of my screen was out. I realigned the screen and the problem seemed less but the problem came back after a minute or two.
After some Googling I tried the credit card trick for solving the alignment issue and now my problem is much much worse. I can not align the screen because I go in a never ending circle.
I suppose the best way I can describe the issue is, if drawing on a program like Note, the screen goes further out of alignment the further to the right of the screen I go. If I run the stylus down the right side of the screen the line is drawn about 1/3rd of the way into the screen but goes further into the screen at an angle as I run the stylus down the screen.
If I try to draw a box in Note around the screen edge the effect is like this;

}
I also tried to loosen the screws at the back of the screen when slided out but I have now lost one of the screws and frankly I think the online fixes have done nothing for me except void my warranty and make it worse.
My questions are basically
1) Anyone else have the same issue and find a fix?
2) Will a missing screw and a homebrew version of Windows Mobile 6.1 mean the warranty is now void / HTC won't repair it and if so
3) Where / How much will it cost to get this repaired?
I really love my TyTN but it cost far too much for me to just "replace" and I really could do with it being repaired for under £100 or preferably for free.
Danny
This problem has been around since the Hermes first came out. There are those that claim that various things will work to cure the problem. Having had a Hermes that did this I can say nothing worked reliably or fo more than short periods.
My suggestion is to revert to the original ROM or flash an official new one and then take a chance with that missing screw for a repair under warranty. I can see you getting a service centre to repair for £100 (though you coul check this out) I have also seen repairs supposedly done (usually an LCD/digitizer combo replacement) that continue to show the problem. I have certainly seen cases where folk have replaced the screen themselves and it has not cured the problem. Hence my guidance for a warranty repair/replacement.
Mike
Thankfully I found the missing screw yesterday on the floor, chance of chances.
I will try to flash the old rom and send for a repair, I contact HTC though their site. Do they reply often? Sometimes I've e-mailed companies and been ignored.
Might be worth giving them a ring?

lcd white screen / * HELP * connecting MOTHERBOARD - Wing Herald

i have been a member , but mainly use the site to get details & at one point tried to OVERCLOCK my phone (didnt go to well)
that said i HAD BROKEN MY LCD screen last week on my
Tmobile Wing / HTC HERALD...
i searched many sites & finally came by a
ebay seller who sold me an LCD screen (w/ digitizer) for around $50 -->
I also was given a t6 screwdriver free.
i got the SERVICE MANUAL THATS ALL OVER THE internet for the wing (apparently its the ONLY SERVICE manual on how to dissemble the wing)
-- I FOLLOWED THE DIRECTIONS & WAS ABLE TO REPLACE THE LCD ITSELF.
I put together the phone in reverse to the manual & nearly exactly.
& then i got the WHITE SCREEN when i turned it on! --->
after messing around i figured out it was the MOTHERBOARD to LCD connector part ...
but i tried sticking it together with tape & it does not work
(I LOST THE YELLOW TAPE THAT WAS ORIGINALLY ON IT)
IT ONLY WORKS IF I USE MY FINGER & APPLY FIRM PRESSURE & still the color w/ dif. pressure [applied] FUGGs up.
(which would be impossible to do if i wanted to use my phone) --
so i don't want my $50 dollars spent gone to waste ....
'
DOES ANY 1 HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW I CAN MAKE IT STICK together
or FIX IT PROPERLY!
again i checked & it is the connector cable that travels from the LCD to the main/motherboard that causes the problem.
this is the last place i can turn to before i have to go to an OVERCHARGING cellphone store to fix it (even after i supply everything to fix it :smh:

...
yes i've tried the tape ... not glue , dont think that would be really safe ...
should i replace the cable & any 1 know where i can get 1 ... + the price? :bump:

If i press inside the red area (including home button) it wont work and its just like i pressed the near side, like icons in the left or right of that red area.
I tried full data wipe, cache and dalvik, tried flashing newer sbf and no good.
Do you guys have any idea on it?
Thanks
Bad news bro.
I'm pretty sure its a hardware problem, the screen must be damaged...
So i need to replace it?

Better to get a new phone =D
a new phone is your option coz replacing the screen would cost you alot while you can get a better phone in a few bucks more!
New screens are available on amazon for 12 pounds (at least I spend this much)
However It may be a signal cable. They starts from 30$ on ebay
There are disassembly videos on Youtube.
I had a similar problem and I did the replacement two months ago and it works.
I bought the screen digitizer with tools on eBay.
Be sure That you have a torx3 beca use it didn't came on the tools! ;P
I had the same problem... I sent to the Moto Assistance and the had to change the touchscreen for a now one.
Good luck!
Not the cable. If the cable was damaged, it would shut down the entire screen. It's a problem with the digitizer. Hopefully for you it's relatively easy to exchange it, but you'll damage the camera sticker, the top panel of back side, above the battery and the speaker grid sticker (all of those are glued to the phone) in order to open it. Doesn't matter the way you take them over, you'll always damage it. Might wanna buy some of these on ebay too, although I'm not sure they sell it.
I had the exact same problem with my first M2, it was still under warranty but Moto took sweet 15 days to exchange it, and they returned my phone with a stuck volume rocker. Had to send it again, they took more than 15 days this time, so I asked for a replacement.

An s view case problem for NOTE 3 you really have never heard of - please help!

Hi guys!
I'm an often reader on the xda, but really never had such a problem to have to make my own thread. But i'm out of my mind what is going on with my Note 3 N9005 with the stock, Samsung android 5.0.
I didn't wanted to change my phone, because i really enjoy it, but i had was in need to make some operations to make it work proper fine. So i bought three things - camera lens, usb charger port and a NEW SUPER COVER s-view cover case
Everything i bought seems to be original, cause it was bought from a friendly gsm service and cost 3 times more than the cheapest ones on internet. And the cover.... that i always wanted at last in a good price - so i bought it right away.
The cover came as the first thing, i have mounted it on a shut down phone, started it up and everything worked fine. And i was enjoying it for almost three days - i could do everything that that a cover can do. Then came the weekend and on the saturday evening i opened up the phone and with a enormous precisson i've had installed the other two parts that i've had bought.
After the operation i of course installed my s view cover and turned on the phone - and it was the time when everything went wrong.
After that i have to tell that my cover doesn't and does work - when i put in on on the shut down phone and start it on the phone thinks that the cover is always closed, i can do every operations, change wallpapers, do photos everything, but i can't go to the other functions that the s-view cover (photos on the end of the post).
BUT when i take off the cover, turn ON the phone it is in the accesories , even when it is not ON the phone, when i put it on the working phone it of course is still in the accesories but the phone does not notice it on and no functions are working ( (photos on the end of the post).
What I did to make it work again:
- re open the phone 3 times to check if everything is in position
- factory reset
- cache reset, dalvik cache reset
- everything that i found on the internet - turning off with and without s view, taking off the battery and etc etc
- checking that every pins are ok lokated and touching what the need to touch
- even replaced the cover to a new one as a warranty in the shop
PLEASE HELP I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO MORE

In reality, you aren't going to get a reply because nobody has a clue what you've done. Post a video up of the failure and perhaps you might get a response, but in reality, you've done something right weird here, haven't you? I mean, who cleans their head unit.... just wipe the screen and be done with it.
Did you plug the old ribbon connector in while the unit was switched on? If so, my best guess is you've shorted something which is why your ribbon cable melted. Potentially what you've goosed as a result.... is a mystery.
Could be the entire screen, could be the entire unit, could be neither...
Might be time for a new one.
Might be time to find a local electronic repairer.
