Try the 3 button format on page one of your user manual. Press and hold the vol down, camera, then power and hold all 3 until it says do you want to format. Follow on screen instructions. This is to be done with the phone off...
If it can't be fixed, supposedly carriers will exchange it for a new one.

sometimes you can begin the update process all over again, and the rom flash will recover and complete.
Don't fret dude, all is not lost, I take it you didn't make a backup of your device to SD? Well no worries go to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=37386&highlight=awizard try to read up as much as you can there to make sure your not doing anything wrong, it's better to take an extra 15min reading then spending 1 hr worried about your machine. Question 2 I think applies to you:
"Q2 : What to do if the device hold at splash screen after upgrade?
A2:
- connect the device with usb cable
- hold the "voice dial" and shortly press the reset button by stylus
- release the reset button and wait for the USB color screen
- download and run the shipped ROM upgrade program (with .exe file extension) e.g. ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/HTC_Wizard/Roms/
- you device will be bootable again.
- then start aWizard and run through the 'e', 'u', 'w' one by one. Of coz you have to connect your phone to ActiveSync before running the 'e' option. "
I hope your able to fix your problem bro, good luck!
Jesus, your title makes me want to hit you in the nose. Learn to spell
As for the update, I've never had a problem fixing it by doing what the poster above said. Mine was totally dead at one stage.
Hi Folks
Ok so I have the Xperia X1 on 02, so tonight I though I would download and install the software update apllication from SE and check if there was a new version for my phone, as i have never updated it since i got it in Jan.
I followd all the correct steps and I got the bars on the screen, however the update software didnt do anything it just stayed on the page where it tells you what to do. So i disconnected the handset and now when I turn it on I get the xperia logo and then its just stuck on a black screen.
Can anyone help me ?
Thanks
Matthew
Follow every single step:
Open lastest version of SE update
Connect USB cable to PC (not connect to mob)
Press Next in the PC (it has to say everything i'm telling you next)
Turn off your mob
Take out the battery
Put it again
Press volume down + turn on keys at the same time
wait 5 secs (app) then you'll see 4 vga color screen
it has to say SERIAL, then Connect to USB cable
It has to say USB
WAIT!!!
While i was upgrading to froyo 2.2 which was released here in india.
the downloading took some time like nearly 30-40 min then suddenly the
Screen changed to PINK color.
i was terrified.
Then pressed buttons which displayed a small PICTURE saying no connection between the phone & pc.
And the kies gave a message that it has to start recovery process.
it said
1: remove the battery
2: get into recovery mode by pressing power key & volume down & home key.
3: now again connect the phone through usb.
now again during recovery it stopped at point and blue bar is appearing as if 30% is complete.
it is not going any forward.
please help me guys what to do......
please
Hello my friends.
Recently my girlfriend gave me her HTC TOUCH HD. I want to find a way to format the phone, so it would be like the day she bought it. I don't know many things about fixing windows phones but if someone knows the way to do this, i would be grateful (sorry for my English).
Thanks in advance.
restoring it to factory defaults is called a hard reset.
it is done by shutting down the device, then pressing vol+, vol- and power at the same time. this will take you to a white screen with blue font, giving you further instructions. in the end, it will reboot and start with the OOBE (out of the box experience), meaning, you get the oportunity to set the time, align the screen...
the important things is: this will format the entire storage partition, the contents of the my documents folder will be deleted, there will be no apps on it, all contacts, sms, emails, appointments, tasks and other pim data will be gone...
so it is greatly advised to backup personal data first, copy documents, photos... to the storage card (which is not affected by a hard reset), back up your pim data using pimbackup or sync it with outlook or ms myphone.
basic things like this are also covered in the first few pages of the manual, which, if missing, can easily be downloaded at htc.com
First of all thanks for your help!!
I did that (Vol +, Vol - and power) and it made a sound and now it doesn't start! Before making this action i did a reset from the back side of the phone (a button next to the battery). And the other problem i have is that the power button broke and missing so i have to push it with the pen. I don't know what to do now. I think i must go to an mobile technician.

to hard reset:
1, charge it to at least 50% power and power off
2, hold vol + and vol - buttons
3, hit power button once to power on
4, release vol buttons when you see a tri-color screen
5, follow the instructions to confirm hard reset

The hard reset was successful. My problem is that the screen is "closed" but the phone is still power on! The screen has not light so i cannot see!! And the funny thing is that the display lights after a few seconds and when i try to touch it, it immediately fading again.. How can i solve this problem?
what exactly happened?
the success of the hard reset would show as presenting you with the initial OOBE (as mentioned above). it takes you through a welcome wizard to set up basic things, where you just have to follow the steps shown. in the end windows mobile will boot, maybe customize your device further (by automatic data setup or the installation of carrier specific apps). then there would be a reboot. and from then on, you are to set up all further settings yourself. at what point in this timeline did the problem present itself?
oh, also, for backlight settings, go to start->settings->system->power and go to the 2nd tab, there you can uncheck the automatic backlight adjust and in the 3rd tab, you can extend the time, the backlight is activated.
and if this was the issue, let me point you at the official manual again:
http://www.htc.com/www/userguide.aspx?p_id=179
and here is a link to a basic faq, which, incidently, shows the hard reset procedure as the very first point: http://www.htc.com/www/help_howtos.aspx?p_id=179
you can answer some very basic questions for yourself there.
hope it helps,
regards
As i said before the hard reset was successful. I set the "screen align", the time zone and then the screen faded and has no light but the phone was still working. That's my problem. I cannot see the screen to make the changes you say.
Why don't you try to hard reset the device once more. Maybe that will fix the problem. Anyway, I don't think that the process of hard reset was the reason of the problem anyway.
Don't panic and try once more. Nothing to loose.

Hi,
Omnia 7 had been working fine up until now, steps leading up to the event:
* Debranded registry using chevron tool to install a regedit app.
* received pre nodo update and installed
* Used vpn workaround to install nodo update
* Phone worked fine for a month then when the 'walsh tool' was released I ran that. Went through OK and phone was still useable.
* A few hours later I was browsing the market place and phone rebooted itself and was stuck at the Omnia7 logo. Started phone in USB mode and connected to Zune to restore - got to 34% and errored saying "phone not responding".
* Power cycled again into usb mode and connected to PC but now the device is not recognised at all in Windows (nothing showing in device manager)
* restore mode is disabled but I have ordered a 'jig' tool.
My concern is that if USB mode is no longer picked up in Windows, that restore mode won't be picked up either. I should have the 'jig' in the next day or so.
I had the same problem about a week after I got my Omnia 7 in October last year.
Obviously I hadn’t used any tools for debranding or anything then, It seems like a fault with the phone to begin with, not due to anything you done.
I rang Orange and they sent me a brand new phone the next day. So try ringing your provider.
I tried connecting the phone again tonight and zune picks it up, gets to 99% complete on restore then stops. Seems the USB is being detected again - I did have the battery out of it overnight.
I have the same exact problem but without any jailbreaking
please I you find any solution just tell me
beacuse I don't have warranty I bought it via Ebay
Using the "jig" tool, I was able to enter download mode and reflash the device. I now have a "Welcome to your Samsung Omnia7" screen.
So I can confirm this method works.
Hi
In the Microsoft answer forum someone wrote that the problem was form the battery. So, I will go first with this one.
Regarding the download mode I have problem as well. When I hold pressing the volume up, camera and the power button it display the USB connection logo same as the one in the update. I don't know why!!!

That is because your bootloader does not support the Download Mode and enters the Zune Recovery Mode instead.
Hi! try with this
http://windowsteamblog.com/windows_...spx?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
Did you try Hard reset?
1. Press and hold down the Power button + Volume down button + Camera button all at the same time until the device vibrates, then let go of the Power button while continuing to hold down the Volume down button and the Camera button.
2. Shortly you should see the message displaying "Are you sure you want to format?", you can now release the Volume down button + Camera button.
I just formated and same problem appear again and again
I don't what to do
please help
in addition to that I don't have the download mode
You will have to get the jig tool to enter download mode to reflash, or send away for repair.
My phone is still playing up, random crashes then stuck at Omia logo. To get it started again I have to reinsert the battery and even then sometimes it gets stuck at the Windows Phone logo. I will try one more flash and if I still have problems I will be raising a warranty claim.
This happened to my phone this morning. Tried to open Beezz, but it wouldn't start (went right back to home screen).
I obviously tried a reboot, but it got stuck at the Samsung Omnia 7 -screen.
So far I have:
(no difference between the steps)
Installed the samsung update patch\fix
Hard reset
Reflash via download mode to KB2
Hard reset
Reflash via download mode to JK1
No success so far. At the moment I'm letting it stay turned on, and every minute or so it flashes black, but returns to the logo screen.
Any help would be appreciated :d
Mine seems to work for a day or so after a reflash, then starts playing up again. Sometimes stuck at logo until I take the battery out and then put back in. I had a problem opening the messaging app, would get the tile animation then back to homescreen. I have arranged to have my Omnia sent back under warranty so will see what they find.
After a power surge, my Omnia hanged then when I rebooted, its now stuck at that Logo Screen. Did everything possible (hard reset, flash rom, go into recovery mode which gets stuck after zune reboots the phone....)
Used the windows support tool and I get this message: The phone is not in the 'Connect to PC' state. Please, make sure that you follow the instructions and your phone shows the 'Connect To PC' image
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Sounds like you have tried everything I would have already. I would send it for repair / warranty.
Turns out my phone WAS faulty and it has been replaced - should receive replacememnt today (Has taken over a month)
