Have a decent battery life? One of the main advantages of a custom Rom is improved battery life, why couldn't HTC have made a stock Rom with a good battery life?
Sent from my HTC Desire HD, Powered by Android Revolution HD 2.0.12
SENSE!, disable all the bling and syncing widgets and you should have better battery life than custom roms can bring
What makes SENSE so good, I wonder. (About to get an HTC android)
Weird you say that. I'm still on the TELUS stock Rom because all the custom ones have worse battery life than the stock TELUS one.

I disagree with leedroid I have better battery life with any other stock rom
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
I have Stock Rom 1.72.405.3 with Radio 26.04.02.17_M2_SF and my DHD looses 0.5% of battery per hour during the night (wifi, bluetoth, gps... disabled).
I get 0.5-1% per hour standby battery drain on ARHD ROM, and that's without turning data off
Custom > Stock in every possible way
I'm on stock 1.32 Rom. I actually have a better battery life on stock rom than I ever did with custom roms.
Does push mail in android drastically drains the battery faster?
because it is on iphone.
The only true efficient push mail is AIM blackberry, from my experience, but not sure about android.
thanks
Probably problem lies with sense and its background never ending sync.

Can you guys tell me what is the best rom considering battery life? Preferably 2.1 or 2.2.
At moment i am using SP-FroYo v1.1 AOSP and its not so great with battery life.I was using before stock 1.6,so i that just how 2.1/2.2 behave?
Not Development related moved to general
For me the Kiljacken's rom, with a good Taskiller and Autokiller has a very good battery's life =)
Yes same here

Its maybe 10% better than SP-FroYo but its far from stock 1.6.Is someone considering to fix this or we just have to deal with that.
can someone help me with the battery life on my htc desire hd i want better battery life without dissabling features, thaanks in advance
Well, there are many factors to getting good battery life.
Matching Radio/RIL can be a good start, especially if rooted.
Definitely ROM's also have a big part.
Overall usage will also bare a pretty big footprint.
I get about 18 hours on a typical work day, with moderate usage which is generally enough for going to work, coming home, and then still have plenty of battery left when I'm ready to go to bed, which is obviously when I charge my phone.

Define "disable" and "features".
disable automatic synchronization and shine
+1 there's nothing wrong with setting your Facebook, Twitter, Email, background syncing, weather etc to less frequent but it will obviously give you more battery life than syncing every 5 minutes, common sense really. An app to preserve battery I have found is Apndroid. Have the widget on your home and you can use 3G when you need it rather than not.

I disable automatic sync of all apps. I only update manually when I use them.
if you can echo all the timings I've been disabled, the sync I maualmente when I access the email application, facebook, etc. .. tweteer
have you rooted your phone? which rom are you using? some details will be appreciated...
tried custom roms? i usually get better battery life with them,
also setting off auto brightness helps a lot for me.
Green power free, its amazing my battery lasts at least 60% longer with this app, amazing get it

hey, mate... you've got some very generic question... specific info like ROM you're using, Radio, Kernel would bring justice for members to give you some more specific help.
This probably might help:
ROM CoreDroid 7
Radio 12.54.60.25_26.09.04.11_M2 - (HTC Ace Gingerbread S Generic 2.36.0)
RIL_12.54.60.25_26.09.04.11_M2
Kernel LeeDrOiD GB V3.1.6 - 2.6.35.13 BFS KERNEL (thanks to LeeDroid)
Live wallpaper Nexus Revamp
disabled wifi, refresh, gps (used powercontrol widget for accesibility).
After flashing, my battery was drained in 5 hours even after an overnight full charge.
then followed scabes24 tips on FAQs >>> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=858418 (thanks scabes24)
got some help from this >>> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1024867

Cyanideskittle2010 tips will prove really helpful. tweak around phone settings which are my priorities... things i don't normally use disabled them, enabled them when i need to.
also, installed cpu clocking, initially used setcpu, then moved up to cputuner which gave me more options... juicedefender also can help if you prefer it. setcpu or cputuner are both available in market.
gave my phone 24 - 48 hours, after battery calibration, full batterystats wipe, now i am good at 30 hours battery time.
used to have 36 hours battlife but was using CoreDroid 6.7 then... shifted to CoreDroid 7 because i just love its UI.
hope this helps! credits to all xda cooks & chefs, sergio76, coredroid team etc..
the new honeysense 6.0 rom has a extremly good battery life. i wiped the battery stats and now my battery lasts abaout 2 days instead of one
Battery
Installed APNDroid the other day great way to save battery by turning network on and off.

Yeah I have been using APNdroid since Android 1.6 and always have it on my Android phones, battery does last miles longer by using the on off widget to disable 3G when you don't need to be using it.

I'm using CM7 Nightly #108 with LorDModUE V4.5.1 (Killersloth's PUV) and Radio 12.54.60.25_26.09.04.11_M2. Great Batterylife compared to stock rom. I lose only 1-2% over night.
Don't want to steal your post but i just have a question haha.
I ordered a battery off eBay the new battery runs on 1600mAh while the original battery goes on 1230 mAh. Should i worry about battery stats i should wipe after replacing the battery or something like that ?

I think it's better to wipe when the phone is fully charged (test with currentwidget) but i think to best is to use the original battery. It can damage your phone and I often read that those batterys don't have more power than the original.
Is it normal that from full battery after night I have only 50%? Extremely strange for me... I have ARHD 5.1.10, ANDIDA 1800 mAh
i am using ARHD, it has good battery life. Works for me
Hi Community,
I'm looking for a very clean and battery friendly ROM.

Can I ask how long does your battery last and how do you use how phone? And what other ROMs have you tried?

Not very scientific i know but here goes, Had been using CM7 and would get a full days use (unplugged at midnight and plugged back in about 21:00) with approx 40% battery left on an average day with HydrOG3n unplugged as normal fairly normal usage and had 60% left at end of day. Typical usage involves checking twitter periodically throughout the day, a bit of gaming (15-20 mins) some ebook reading (<60 minutes) checking facebook once or twice and a bit of web surfing (45-60 mins over the day) odd texts and two to three short phone calls (less than 10 minutes total) and a bit of foursquare with GPS on, I leave wireless on all day although I'm normally only attached at home, obviously your mileage may vary. I Have tried other ROMs specifically Miui, LeeDroid and AHRD but I hate SENSE and didn't get on with any of them so cant give any definitive comment on Battery life.
i recommend android revolution too
it's keep the original UI, and make a lot of tweaks to make your phone run smoothly
arhd is the best!
Miui is quite brilliant and awesome as well as cm7. And they use eclair or froyo BL. So that's a plus

I'm using LeeDrOiD HD myself and I'm very happy with it. So smooth and no issues (for me at least, some are experiencing battery drain with wifi on, but for me, it's at about 2-5 mA in standby). Great "community" around it, lots of support, great battery life. On a normal day, I usually have the screen on for about 2-3 hours (moderate use I'd say) and disconnected from charger for about 18 hours. That leaves me with about 50% battery when I go to bed.
I'm very satisfied
Another vote for LeeDroid. Great ROM, great support and great bloke!

TB Fusion 1.4 + unity v3 kernel by far the best for me
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
I've tried ARHD, RCMixHD and LeeDroid, but have settled on Virtuous Unity. I run it with Juice Defender and now charge the battery every other day or even longer rather than every night! I run gmail and my work outlook exchange activesync on push settings, background data updates on facebook and play cut the rope a bit! Best Sense rom I reckon, especially if you want Sense 3. Activesync used to drain the battery like a vampire on the other roms, no problem with Virtuous Unity.
Also my wife has a DHD on stock UK rom and this is the first one that beats her for battery. Put juice defender on her's too, but mine is faster with the o/c daemon and looks much better. Can't persuade her to let me root and flash her for some reason, perhaps I should tell her I mean her phone

Can not compare to other ROMs, but ARHD is just awesome! Looks like stock ROM but feels a lot more smooth.
I like/use CM7
I use Leedroid. I looked for a clean, lean, fast and smooth ROM and found it in LeeDroid's rom. Works perfect with the sense 3 lockscreen, too (the combination of lockscreen and my own app, AppGrouper, make for the fastest applaunching experience I know of since the old PalmPilot days ).
Beatmod gingersense, speedy, clean great battery life. Looks good, sense 3.0 lockscreen aswell, best rom I've tried yet. Yet to try leedroid will have to check it out.

Hi, everyone, I've heard the sense based ROMs have better battery life for Desire HD, so anyone knows wich is the best for battery life between:
LeeDroid
CoreDroid
Android Revolution
?
Thank you very much!
Yeah 3 very nice roms.
I think it's a personal journey.
You might try them all and see what you prefer.
Make sure you disable anything you don't need running in the background.
Some other users will know better than me though.
Most users seem to use Android Revolution in the which rom do you have thread.
Maybe because it stays true to the original visual experience.
Hello,
I have tried stock rom, revolution hd and miui.
MIUI has really better battery drain , it has a nice look too.
I think htc sense cause an increase in battery drain.
You get better battery life with MIUI?
Virtuous unity has some pretty good battery life better then android revolution i found for my use.
I have used ARHD (which is good) and a few different CM7 Roms and the best to date is Alienminds CM7 Rom updated with LorD's 6.2 BFS Kernel. I use Juice Defender but leave CPU control to the Rom.
I Put the phone down last night at 11pm with 72% battery and when I picked up at 8am it was...... 72%
I use the mugem 1500ma battery. Part way through the third cycle. I have been trying to go through the 5 cycles quickly but even using the phone solid for 3 hours it only dropped 25%. Screen use over those 3 hours was 93%.
I would, without doubt, recommended this setup.... very happy!

Forgot to say, I also use the puv under volting script with LorD's 6.2 kernel.

I've had great battery life with mike1986's Android Revolution HD 5.2.2 Rom. It's very fast, very smooth, and i've had no problems with it (although a few are reporting wifi connection issues).
I think he's releasing 5.2.3 today/soon which should increase battery life even further! Can't wait!
I'm using Android Revolution HD 5.2.2 and I'm happy about it battery life is ok
I am on Mr.Garak Miui 1.7.22v2 and have no battery drain (on screen off 3-5ma)
I think Doubleshot has a good battery life
Enviado desde mi HTC Desire HD
i have rcmix 1.9 rom + leedroid kernel battery lasts for almost 24h
Same for me
Same for me
+1 for MIUI ROMs. About 1-5mA with screen off
Sent out of my Free Candy Van.
On CM7 RC1 now: much to my surprise, it feels like the battery is doing better than with 7.0.3, though I don't think I can back this up empirically. My battery didn't fare too well with Coredroid V7 or MIUI, though they're both great ROMs.
All in all, pleasantly surprised by how this RC is doing. Keep up the good work everyone!
Cyanogenmod + lord mod kernel + puv script is what is working great for me. Sense roms seem to have quite a bit of superfluous features which cause a bit more drain than aosp roms like cm and miui.
Sent from my Cyanogenmod 7 phone.
ONLY LEEDROID HD gives u sense 3 rosie mods with excelllent battery life.
so, if you like sense 3d rosie, go for leedroid hd and,
if u need only the stock gingerbread rom devoid of sense 3d rosie, go for revolution hd.
the rest roms are laggy or battery sucks.
great
greate post
I have been using Android Revolution HD since 5.1.9 with Sense 3.0 All in one. With medium use (few phone calls, sms, browsing the internet) my battery lasts 24-48 hours. That's good enough for me
Any ideas what the best rom with best battery life for ics is for G2? Id prefer ics or above. I just rooted my moms g2 and put cm9 on it version 3, she loves it but I want to know if there is a better one with good battery life. I ordered her an anker and will calibrate when it gets in.
Sent from my myTouch_4G_Slide using xda app-developers app
I used the ics sense ROM sabsa prime (v12 with sense 4a and therefore no landscape mode, since v13 it has sense 4.1 with landscape) and i got up to 2d battery life with stock battery.
Activated mobile internet and wlan only when needed, wrote some sms per day and did a few calls every now and then.
So i really can recommend this ROM (battery life for the new v14 i cant tell)

If you want best battery life you're probably going to have to go with ICS because that's stable so we don't know what may be affecting battery life on JB ROMs at the moment, also Sense is heavy and bloated so go with AOSP or CyanogenMod. Having said that I'm running Andromadus CM10.1 build 16 and am at 26% with 5 days 20 hours without a charge, so basically go for a ROM which feels good at low clock speed (and yes, not overclocked, if you really want to have good battery life you're not gonna want to go above stock clock speed).
No "Best rom threads" as pointed out in Guide Sticky
