Seller is quite obviously an XDA member.
EDIT: Guessing this is "public domain" stuff from XDA, too...

I think the thing i like best about his website is this:

But then it gets better.. at the bottom of the page it states this:

In all fairness (I didn't look at his website) what you quoted isn't racism. It's bigotry, no doubt, but I don't see anything specific to race.
Anyway, what a tool. You can tell his plan was well thought out.

The reason I ask, and ok, I did fall for it, before I knew a bit more about the unlocker from this site.. I thought it was an alternative method, and it was v3 of the very same software!!!
Some advice would be appreciated......

The king james bible IS NOT signed by a publisher or author, which is WHY it can be redistributed.. however, software contains signatures by the developer.

Exactly, I do also. I busted a guy trying to do the same thing on craigslist a few months ago and he stopped.
I think this guy went to the Helen Keller school for web design.

if that company has it copyrighted and you can prove that you created it first you have a law suite. i dont know how microsoft or htc would react.

HTC / Microsoft won't do anything and if they really do, the would go after XDA first that's because the program is developed by XDA.

hey guys!!! im posting this thread because i lost my sd card and had to get a new one..... but u see the sd card i lost had all of my transformers files... and other factory goodies that came with the phone...... i really want to get those files back... i was wondering how i can get them back... maybe administrators can put the files on the website so we can download them from the website... or if someone can send me the files... or even if SOMEONE can send me links to download the files... the files i am talking about btw is the transformers 1 and 2 files... and the built in games... anyone know how i can get them back or where?? or if admins can put it on the website that would be great... NEED QUICK REPLIES!

thats not warez, its a legit file sharing web site, just like rapidshare , megaupload and all the others...

? Soliciting a file shareing site, which may I remind you is ILLEGAL is most definately promoting Warez in my book. Demonoid exists to share files illegally...now im not saying torrenting is bad, im just saying that shareing copyrighted material at XDA is not allowed nor tolerated.

good thing we didn't post any links to illegal content... as a matter of fact, we didn't post any links... since the OP purchased the content and paid for it, he can legally download all the files that where on his card.

though we all know demonoid is mainly a piracy site, i dont agree that the poster that suggested he go there to obtain a "backup" copy of files that he legally has a right/license to access should be banned, since thats the only place he can really obtain these files. the comment about other movies being available there is a bit stretching it, but who didnt know that already?
The other method he could use to obtain these files it to take advantage of the "recall" on the SD card and try and see if he can get a replacement card, though it sounds like theyve cracked down on that alot, and that arguably actually hurts HTC because now they have to ship him a card that probably costs them atleast $50. rather he could just goto demonoid just to obtain a copy of the files he legally has a right/license to since he purchased an HD2

No, he cannot. He never paid for the content, he paid for a LISCENCE to USE the content. The files contained on his storage card where never his, he was simply liscenced to use them while in possesion of the phone. You can't delete something, then just download it because it was "yours". Oh snap! My computer died! Gotta go download Windows...cause ya know...my PC ran Windows so im entitled to download it if I so choose. /sarcasm, copyright doesn't work like that. And posting links or not, promoting piracy or warez in any way is a violation of the XDA terms of use and rules.

actually that is perfectly legal, so long as you use the serial number on the COA sticker stuck your PC to reinstall it. if you loose or destroy the COA sticker, then you're out of luck.
the COA sticker is proof of purchase for that version of windows, just as having physical possession of a TMO HD2 would be proof of having license to access to those files. and no having physical possession of a PC is not proof of license to a copy windows because not all PCs come with windows preinstalled. all TMO HD2s came with those files on their included SD cards
of course that doesnt mean you wont get caught up in some riaa/mpaa/anti piracy dragnet and have to explain yourself in court for downloading those files. but any competent judge should throw that case out in minutes

to add a little more to it, you can goto sites like CDW.com and purchase official software media discs for software like windows, ms office, photoshop for example for usually around $10. that does not mean they are legal to use unless you have a microsoft open license, a valid COA, or licensing for photoshop from adobe

Yes, you are. The email you received is under NDA, mentioning you even received something that's under an NDA is a breach. Keep discussion in the appropriate forums in compliance with the NDA.

It would be breaking NDA to state the NDA, but I can assure you that the way I worded this post entails no breaking of the NDA.

Going to be creating a petition as an attempt to somehow get us a unlock for the device. I will update this periodically in the coming days and weeks.

Look, I never agree with the guy, but Davey126 explained to you in the other thread. Even if you acquired an unobtainable amount of signatures, somehow got it in front of someone that mattered, and forced them to read it, they would ignore it. Plain and simple. If they wanted to unlock the bootloader, they would have done it at release. Oh, but a bunch of nerds want me to do it so they can sidestep the OS we designed for it. Look at the petition for the S5: 1400 signatures and didn't make a difference. The same can be said for every device this has been attempted with. I wish it weren't true, it's just not ever going to amount to anything...
