Titanium Backup works great to backup/restore apps with data.

Agreed, and if you have pro, they it is a button press, and walk away.

Sometimes. Just don't wipe data before flashing it (depending on how it's packaged, some ROMs will wipe it when you flash). Of course, not wiping data can lead to a variety of hard to track down problems, so that's why it's generally always recommended.

I had this problem. Rebooting to recovery and clearing dalvik cache fixed it.

I read a suggestion from someone on the CM7 Nightly thread that you need to clear your cache for bigger installs.

Yup, sorry, this is official, 2.3.4 rom Bell

Factory data reset and catche wipes were the only method I was successful with. Tried everything prior with titanium and root explorer to remove the elusive account. Had same problem as you did.

Recovery

What recovery should I put on Droid x that was rooted with rootzwiki and how
Sent from my PC36100 using xda premium
Thats a little broad, do you mean something like ClockworkMod? This is what you do a nandroid backup with. So if you mess something up, you can just recover your settings from any date that you ran a backup on.
If you need to backup/recover apps, you can do this with Titanium Backup.
So bootstrap2 will work with this root method

It should, yeah. But to be sure...try a backup and restore before you go changing a bunch of things.

Force close and functionallity problems, please help.

Two problems, android.process.media keeps force closing even after fix permissions. After fix permissions I lose functionality of my search and home keys. This happened on my razr as well. Any suggesions on how to restoore these buttons? I don't want to factory reset because obviously that will work. I'm running on a clean install of liquid smooth 3.0. R2D2 Droid 2

First fully charge your device.
Second flash a new fresh rom.
Or you just go in recovery and do a factory reset (whipe data, cache,)

I charge the phone to 50% then try flashing a rom. Still gives me the message

What version of TWRP do you use? It sounds like your EFS could potentially be FUBAR'd........TWRP has the option to back up the EFS and if you have a TWRP backup it should have the EFS backup in it...check your backups to see if you have this. Give this a shot, it should fix the issue!!
If not, as he's recommending for the 'hard reset' it's under wipe and then advanced........just make sure that you have EVERYTHING backed up on a computer as this will erase all the data on your phone.
Try this:
Go to /efs/FactoryApp/
Open a file called factory mode.
It will probably say OFF. Edit to ON, save and reboot.
None of my back ups have EFS I forgot to click box it.

You don't have any efs folder in your phone now?
Go back to recovery and mount efs, then use twrp's built in file manager and browse to efs and see if it's empty. I don't think it is.
