When flashing MAGLDR the status remains at 0% for a long time, then gives a USB connection error
You need 2.08.HSPL installed in order to flash Magldr. Use HSPL3.exe and the Steps in *THIS* thread to do that.

its not too serious
steps to try:
-different usb port
or
-reinstalling ActiveSync
or
-if its still not working reboot your pc/laptop & start again.

Reboot done. Now Uninstalling ActiveSync and trying other USB port. Thanks.

Same as previous ones. 0%

the prev post was just to sort out the error,
as for the 0% its a known issue, follow the guides in the faq, everything you need is in there, (not to sound harsh) but no point really in typing it out again.
good luck

I really need to format my PC ;D Flashing task29 and RADIO done. ****ty programs (AtiTrayTools etc.) were the problems.

There are two things you need to learn on the internet:
Reading and Searching, no offense but you don't seem to be able to do either very well. Run the flasher under admin privileges

HSPL 2.08 is a must! then you should have a 576 MB ram radio. 2.08.50 will do it (task29).
then flash magldr. good to go

[Q] ss sd kernel open fail

I have a us T-Mobile htc hd2 which was running android nand sense and I had a touch screen issue. I found the fix to revert my phone back to factory, un-installing hspl back to spl. Sent the phone off to htc which they replaced the screen under the warranty. I got my phone back and tried to put the same programs and files I used in the beginning
I have spent hours reading and trying things suggested like using a radio file Radio_Leo_2.15.50.14, I have downgraded spl from my 2.10.000 to 2.08.000
When the phone reboots I get a message ss sd kernel open fail then MAGLDR Boot Menu Screen but am unable to load files with the usb
Any help?

Hi,
Sorry,I've been really busy.
Try in the order of things...
1.use toolkit to install HSPL 2.08 HSPL
2.Task 29
3.Flash radio
4.install magldr and so on from there.
Then the rest is the same on the list.
Am I getting the error message “Error Description: USB init failed” because I don’t have a sd card in the phone? Is that where I am going wrong?
make sure that the files initrd and zimage are copied to the root of the sd card. do not copy the whole foler bec magldr will not be able to recognize it.

So from what you stated here you Task29, MAGLDR, Radio (which one byt the way) but did you install Clockworkmod recovery? If you have done nothing then that's why you are stuck at HTC screen as you have no OS or anything loaded yet. MAGLDR is the only thing you have installed.
From your steps you then need to:
1. Install the appropriate recovery (which I and another user had linked you to in another one of your posts)
2. Boot into MAGLDR (by holding power button) and then boot into CWM recovery
3. Partition your sdcard with your desired size (512-1024mb respectively but do not forget to backup the contents of your sdcard as partitioning will format it)
4. Transfer the rom you want to your sdcard
5. Flash it from CWM recovery
6. Reboot
7. Enjoy Nand android build and go have a donut
Post if you have additional questions

I'll just keep my Doughnut to the side until I install Android
3) How do I back it up? And how do I know what size 512 or 1024?
I'll do the above steps and will report back.
P.s. I am on Stock Windows Mobile 6.5.

Nice haha,
Anyway by backup your sdcard I mean save whatever is on the card (music, pictures, etc.) to your computer, that way you can copy it back to the card after you have everything set up
As for what size to partition your sdcard, it's up to you. That partition space is the size of memory you will have to install user apps so it depends on how many you plan on using
When you make it to recovery you will see the option to partition your card, it will take you through the process.

Ok after step 10 installing MAGLDR you should boot into the MAGLDR screen. Select the USB Flasher option, instead of using the Nand toolkit try downloading the recovery here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=729033&d=1316816787
and using the daf.exe try flashing it that way. Make sure MAGLDR is in USB flasher selection.

3. plugin usb cable to computer and wait for install driver
4. run hspl4
5. chose SPL 2.08.HSPL from list and next you see information about hd2 hack and restart phone when finish
6. task29
7. install MAGLDR113_DAF
8. make task from your prefered rom

[Q] HD2 NAND Toolkit

So i bought my first HD2 (EU version) from ebay a week ago and i've been trying to install custom roms since then.
I've been following the instructions from the NAND Toolkit thread but i could not install the ClockworkMod Recovery 5.0.2.6, because when the cmd command window appears it it stops at ( *daemon started successfully* ).
I have installed right now update recovery 3.0.0.5 which i found somewhere else but still not all roms work. The only rom that works is this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1441462
Can someone help how to install ClockworkMod Recovery 5.0.2.6 manually or with some other way
HTC HD2
aMAGLDR V1.13
SPL - 2.08.HSPL
ClockworkMod Recovery 3.0.0.5
Install clockwork through magdlr... seems like your installing through fastboot.
Hope this helps.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using xda premium

Just see this guide and download any of the recoveries at the bottom of the post. All you have to do is put your phone in USB Flasher, connect it to the PC and run the DAF.exe file within the selected CWM folder. If you want to change the recovery size, just open 'flash.cfg' (not flash.cfg.txt) with notepad or something similar (Windows has it preinstalled, dunno about other computers) and change the system partition value.
To be honest, I don't know how using the manual method would help over using the Toolkit, but the guide I linked worked perfectly for me, so try it out I guess
Try:
D. How do i install recovery / do a repartition on MAGLDR?
1) Choose MAGLDR Repartition on top.
2) Choose the partition size you want to use. And type in the cache size you want.
3) Press Repartition button on the bottom left corner.
4) Follow instructions

And then follow point 3 and 4
As for your second question probably it's becouse you didn't install recovery correct.

Why would USB debugging matter? You use USB Flasher in MAGLDR to flash CWM

[HD2 not booting] Freezed and stopped on MAGLDR mode

Hi,
I have tried many ways to get work my HD2 back, but its still not.. when I start the phone it freezes at MAGLDR mode.
(Please see Screenshots attached for your reference.) no option buttons are displayed (only the MAGLDR heading.)
I can enter the Recovery mode as well.
I have flashed HD2 stock ROM via SD card method according to this thread I suspect this is the definite point where I have gone wrong.
According to that post Some warning messages were given..
Code:
if you are flashing an "Official" ROM direct from HTC or T-Mobile, you will more than likely over-write your SPL (Second Program Loader). This means, even if you have HSPL installed now, you could be reverted back to SSPL, rendering you unable to flash custom ROMs.
To make matters worse, if you flash an ROM higher than 2.10 and you attempt to install the current (as of 5/21/10) HSPL, you will brick your phone. Yeah, it's bad.
I have searched Forums a lot, but still no luck, Please anybody help me to solve this issue.
Thanks lot

Make sure that you have the radio: 2.15.50.14, also HSPL 2.08.
This is a quick guide from scratch on how to install a Android ROM.
Flash in this order via HD2 toolkit(download it from the net):
1. task 29 (flashed via bootloader by holding volume down. Deletes ROM/MAGLDR, leaves HSPL + RADIO, this will make the phone only be able to boot to bootloader by holding the volume down key, otherwise it's stuck on the HTC logo, just pull out the battery and power on by holding the volume down button to continue flashing (don't panic, it's how it works))
2. RADIO (flashed via bootloader by holding volume down. Find a radio 2.15.50.14 on the net, if it's already flashed, try to continue, if it fails reflash the radio and re-follow the steps)
3. HSPL (flashed via bootloader by holding volume down. You have it in the hd2 toolkit, the 2.08 version)
4. MAGLDR (flashed via bootloader by holding volume down. In hd2 toolkit 1.13 version)
5. CWM (flash this by entering MAGLDR and choosing the USB Flasher option. Choose one, there are 3 to choose from, depending if your android ROM needs 150 or 200 or even 400 MB partition, DL from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=898913)
6. Android ROM (insert your sd card in to a reader or boot up MAGLDR/AD Recovery option(this will launch CWM(ClockWorkMethod))/Mounts and storage/Mount SD-card this will make your phone like a flash drive, make sure it's FAT32, most probably it already is, copy the "androidromname.zip" on the root of your sd card, insert sd-card back in to the phone if you took it out for a reader, boot to MAGLDR, choose AD Recovery(this will launch CWM(ClockWorkMethod)) select install zip from sd card, then select choose zip from sd card, find the ROM on your sd card confirm Yes, after the flashing is complete, hit the back button and select first option Restart device, it will go in MAGLDR, select BOOT AD NAND.)
7. Done.
Harshadura, I am the guy who wrote that tutorial. You haven't bricked your phone (yet) so you should be okay. Just follow Erroneous91's advice, step by step and you should be have your phone running again.
I no longer own an HD2, I've switched to the Galaxy Note, so I won't be able to walk you through this one. There are still a ton of great people (like Erroneous91 :-D) who can help though.
Good luck!

hi Erroneous91, Thanks for the Reply.
When I install Radio Leo 2.15.50.14 it stops at 96%
I tried several times, but it stops at same position. [Screenshot attached]
I tried in both ways SD card method and USB method.
Tried doing after completing Task29, but no luck
HSPL 2.08 has installed properly
and I am not able to follow rest of the tasks cause of this Radio issue.
Please help.
Thanks
Sounds like a stuck Radio the only thing I know to tell you to do is to start downloading all the stock ROMs you can find. Then try flashing them one by one. Try flashing them both by RUU and by SD card. Also start with the older ROMs and work your way to the newer ROMs. Just remember though ifyou have a T-Mobile US (TMOUS) HD2 you can not flash a radio with a 51 in it or a radio below 2.07.50.?? or you will hard radio brick the device. Maybe you will get lucky and find a ROM that will flash. Remember though that if you flash via SD card even though the flash may not complete it may have still overwritten your HSPL so check it after every flash attempt.
Edit: I just looked at the attached pictures in the OP. You problem is not a stuck radio it is your device I'D has gotten changed some how, look at the top line of the bootloader it is not correct. You can still follow my suggestion from above or you can also maybe try using the device I talk about in this post here.
Also at Erroneous91, you should have HSPL as step number one because without HSPL you can not even run a task 29. Now I know you just wanted to make sure that the OP had the correct HSPL to use MAGLDR but without HSPL you can only flash the correct stock ROMs for the HD2 so HSPL should always be the first thing to flash. Plus please refrain from telling someone that has a out of the ordinary issue with flashing or booting things correctly to use task 29. This wipes whatever usable software that is on the device off and may leave them with a device they can not get software back on to like the OP is now.
Hello again,
firstly I'm gonna ask you has your HD2 hanged before by overheating, like when running Android/WP7 or similar things?
If not, this should be the final solution, follow this easy quick guide:
1. Download the attachment from udK from here: LINK IN YOUR INBOX
2. Extract in whatever folder you like
3. Download the RADIO 2.15.50.14 from here LINK IN YOUR INBOX
4. Extract the the .nbh to the folder you extracted the the Leo_CustomRUU from step 2. and rename it to RUU_Signed.nbh
5. You should now have 2 files in one folder: 1. CustomRUU.exe 2. RUU_Signed.nbh
6. Power on your HD2, enter bootloader by holding volume down key, connect USB to computer, run CustomRUU.exe and follow, it's like flashing HSPL, but instead your flashing the RADIO.
If you had the HD2 hanging before because of overheating, it's possible that on 96% it's processing too much data that it overheats again and just hangs.
Otherwise try this solution, it's basically an alternate way to install the RADIO.
Hi Erroneous91, T-Macgnolia,
Thanks lot for the replies.
Sadly! after couple of ROM updates via SD card and via USB, now HD2 doesn't even load into Bootloader mode (Tri-color).
when I insert the battery and push the power button It nonstoply vibrates, need to remove the battery to stop the vibration.
pretty sad seen, I have no idea what to do now, kinda hard brick I guess, need to find a repairman to fix the issue.
Anyway thanks lot again for your great support.
Sad...
Sadly, this really sounds like the processor overheat problem, which I had, I bought a HD2 that had the processor overheating problem earlier for parts.
What it does, it just restarts on a certain point and then just keeps vibrating, cuz it can't even pass the logo screen from restarting itself infinite times.
If yours is overheating, you can test out this by trying to chill it down(people tried by putting the HD2 in the actual freezer , but only for a few minutes, just to make it a bit lower of the normal temp.) and trying to turn it on to see will it pass to bootloader, I'm kinda 90% sure that this is the problem now.
P.S.: if it boots normally after chilling it down in the freezer, prepare your RUU program with the renamed RADIO in the same folder, launch bootloader, connect USB, launch RUU program fast, next, next and try to make it finish the Radio installation. Also don't hold the phone in your hands, that would surely heat it up quite a bit.
I wish you good luck with the phone!
