Saving Data - Epic 4G General

This may be a dumb question but I am going to ask. I know in order to get the update you have to have all of the sprint software installed. I have 2.1 and the only thing I have done is installed clockword and have andromeda galaxy kernel installed. Will I be able to get the OTA update or will it fail since I dont have all the sprint software.
Also on another note, I have beaten angry birds and not trying to get three starts on all levels. If I want to go back to stock, how would I save the data so I can have angry birds back with all the same data as before?
Thanks.

U have to be fully stock...and to save your data use titanium backup in the market

As far as angry birds I don't know how to save game data. I play mobsters and I backed it up using titanium and cwm and when I restored it started me over for some reason.

[Q] Stupid question: Backing up Angry Birds?

Hey everyone,
This is a very stupid question but nonetheless, was wondering if there is any way to backup the saves for my Angry Birds game. I am running Fission 1.21 and wanna update to 2.1, but I have taken my sweet ass time to 3 star basically every level on that game and I would much rather not have to do it again... SOOOOO, any way to back up the data so I don't lose the save as I wipe everything in my phone when installing the new stuff?
Thanks in advance
You can use Titanium backup to be absolutely sure. but to be honest you should have no issues keeping the data. I have no trouble with my saved data on it restoring once you've flashed a new rom.

I am worried because I backed up with Appmonster last time and it didn't keep the saves at all. Just wanting to be sure.

Just curious, are you rooted?

So I just rooted my phone, what now?

Ive been reading about the possibilities of rooting and why its a good thing.
Well I finally rooted, but what should I do now?
I've already removed the bloatware and im not interested in themes.
As for ROMS/CustomOS, there hasnt been any ROM that sets it that much more better then the stock 2.2firmware that came with the phone. Aside from the possible swipe texting, is there any significant benefit from using a custom ROM as oppose to the standard OS?
Also what are some must have apps for rooted phone?
Feels like the only real benefit from rooting (if one is not interested in themes/looks) is just removing bloatware
Same boat
So I just rooted my phone too, I was hoping to gain the ability to remove the bloat ware and maybe free mobile hot spot, but im such a noon im too worried about bricking my phone so really all I've done is the initial root, I did download the liberty 1.5 and saved it to my memory card but I don't really know if I did a full backup or not. I downloaded the titanium backup app that specifically says root on it and did what I thought was a backup in preparation for putting the liberty rom on my phone. Do I automatically gwet free mobile hotspot or is that a separate app all together?

Im not sure about titaninum backup or the liberty 1.5 youre trying to install.
However, I can hopefully share with you what I know about the free mobile hotspot. If by that you mean tether, than yes, you do need a seperate app. In fact the app is the only thing you need, no need for roms and what not. Some of the tethe rapps are PDAnet, easytether, and wireless tehter
theres probably more but those 3 are the ones I see most mentioned and hear success stories with most of them
alot of the Roms out there include a wireless 3g hotspot app in them, for example the rom im rocking is Darkslide 4.2 and it includes the app, and always remember to give credit where credit is due ^_^ and always thank the devs for doing this for free
Oh for sure, I appreciate the help info ethus site is the bomb and the dev's here kick butt. So I was using pda net before I rooted but I was told by someone that you can get the wireless hot spot by rooting. I might check out that dark sliders rom too. Is it a lot of work tojump between roms?
Just remember than Verizon is now monitoring rooted phones and they can send you a bill for data. I would suggest against it but it depends on where you live as to if they are monitoring.

How do they even know that a phone is rooted? Im guess I don't know what to think of that.. I know its a service you are supposed to pay for but isn't that kinda along the same lines as apple or google monitoring you? Do we know what markets Verizon is monitoring? Is it something where they pick the people who are using gig's of data, I've only used maybe a couple hundred megabytes

[Q] Rootless backup

Can I back up my apps and app data without root?
I want to roll back and switch roms or load 3.2 stock rooted, but my wife doesn't want to lose her high scores for sudoku.

lolol now that's the best excuse for backing up I've heard yet!
Nothing like being held by the short hairs huh?
There's none that I'm aware of (not to say there isn't).
I haven't try it but MyBackup (on android market) seems to be able to do that.

According to one reviewer if you don't have root, it does nothing more than Google services does.
I was one of those who thought root would come soon and also thought i could live with it if it did´nt.
I WAS WRONG!!! I am going to roll back and upgrade with rooted 3.2. but i have the same problem as San Pedro. I have a lot of games that i would be glad to have backet up both the .apk and data.
Anyone???

"Super Manager" will back up your APKs, but not your data.
Wasn't able to really back up my app data but I was able to downgrade and install a custom rom, taboonay, without losing anything important except let's golf hd.

Retaining my apps when running custom roms

A few months ago, whenever I would run a custom rom I could go to the "my apps" menu in the market and I could do a mass redownload of all my apps. Now, anytime I flash a new rom and go to the market...the only things showing up in the "my apps" menu are apps I've bought...not the free ones I've downloaded. This means I have to go through the hassel of searching and finding ALL of them again which I would rather not do. Do you guys have any suggestions on how to remedy this?

Best option is to get titanium backup... there is a free version, but the paid version is well worth the money if you do a lot of flashing

Well I've had Titanium Backup since day 1 of rooting my phone. However, I've never HAD to use it to restore my apps after installing a rom. The fact that my apps aren't showing up in the "my apps" menu in the market is my biggest concern. I would like to remedy that if I could. Any idea why my market has been doing that recently? Also, what is the benefit of the paid version of Titanium Backup vs the free version anyway?

The benefits are that you can schedule backups (I have mine backup every night at 4am) with paid version you don't have to turn USB debugging or unknown sources on after every flash, not sure if its in the free version but i have my dropbox linked to it as well so I have a secondary source for all my apps in case my sdcard goes bad... I love how I can restore the data to each app as well, works good so I don't lose any saved data for games that don't store it elsewhere, like asphalt 6... not to mention its awesome to support the developer of such an awesome app

Also, with the paid version you don't have to click "install" on EVERY SINGLE APP when you batch install all of your apps back.
It does it automatically.
And as far as your market issues are concerned...
Use Titanium Backup, as suggested.
It'll backup market data as well...and thus when you restore the applications the market will show them in your "My Apps" list.

Weird question...but need Angry Birds backup from TB.

Okay, I know this is a weird question, but does anyone have a Titanium Backup of Angry Birds Rio that is complete with all trophies and 3 stars that you could send me? I had trouble with my TF101 after I rooted and tried to install the latest ICS update. I had to unroot, reflash a stock HC rom and reflash the stock recovery. Somewhere in that, it formatted my internal memory and I lost everything including my Titanium Backups. Grrrr! I lost progress in other games like Angry Birds Seasons and Plants vs Zombies too, but I'd be happy to just get Rio back. My three year old likes to play Rio and play all the bosses and jump around to all the levels. He's pretty angry (no pun intended ) that I lost all of it after I spent a couple months completing them all and I really don't want to do it again. Can anybody help?
Ed
That's all we get around here is wierd questions, so no worries.
This is what I use to unlock AB and AB Seasons and it is free (root)
This is to unlock AB Rio. Not free and haven't tried it. Just searched the market but I am sure there are others too.
