[Q] proximity sensor problem - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hi everybody.
I have problem with proximity sensor. When I make a call, the screen immediately goes black, and the device no longer responds to any button (not even the power button on top). The any way to get the screen back to life is by removing and reinserting the battery.
Is there any solution to the screen not goes black during call??
I’m using cyanogenmod on HD2.

hold the phone's light sensor under a bright light. It is a pain, but the only thing that works for me.

[Q]My physical buttons don't light up when I press it

I just installed the Skinomi screen protector so I had to spray a bit of solution. Now the pyhsical buttons doesn't light up unless I make a call. When I press home or menu it doesn't light up.
I have not noticed this but can anyone tell me if it is based on the light sensor. I am in a fairly lit room right now. Thanks
Well I just went into the bathroom and I guess it is based on a light sensor.

Proximity and light sensors.

I've been having an issue with both the proximity sensor and the light sensor. If I press the phone against my face it'll start pressing numbers or disconnecting calls (screen won't turn off due to the sensor not working) and the light sensor doesn't affect the illumination levels on my screen and buttons; actually the only way to make my buttons light up is manually changing the brightness (both screen and buttons) but after locking the phone and waking it back up the buttons stay unlit.
Has anyone else had this problem? I'm not sure if I've been having it after flashing CM9 or after my phone got a bit wet. I took the phone apart to check if something was wrong with the sensors (obstruction, dirt, corrosion, etc) but couldn't find anything.
Also, I downloaded "Sensors List" from the Play Store and both sensors are not detected.
Any ideas?

About button light... Is your display brightness set to Auto? If not, set it to auto and your buttons will be fine.
I just tried doing that and it didn't worked, not even completely removing the screw. I guess the sensors got damaged with water (if they can be damaged that way). Oh, and setting the brightness to Automatic doesn't do anything either.
Thanks a lot though.

Strange black screen problem in Defy

Hi!
I dropped my defy in 2 cm of water, everything was fine for 20 min, suddently my screen stop responding, i removed the battery, place it back turn on the sceen got quite dark. Yet I was still able to see things on screen. Then it slowly got darker and darker until it was completely black. After that I tried to push the power button but the screen didn't light up, only the 4 buttons were lit.
I noticed I was still able to unlock the screen or answer phonecalls sliding my finger from left to right on the correct area of the screen, although it remainded black all the time.
What can i do? do i have to replace the lcd?
Thanks

proximity issue on stock rom gs4?

Recently, my phone has been having a problem with the proximity sensor during calls. When I finish a call, or want to look at my screen, the screen does not turn on by itself so I need to press the home button for the screen to light up. This is very annoying! I even turned off the option "Turn screen off during calls" (which is supposed to leave my screen lit up all the time) and the screen still goes black.
is it a software issue or hardware?
additional info : it works when i use my fone in a room {proximity ADC 43(43,43,43) } or building, but doesn't work while using outside {proximity ADC 51(51,51,51) }.

Is my LCD stuffed? :(

I have an N9005 that I bought second hand just under a year ago. It's running the Phronesis 4 ROM. About a week ago a one pixel wide bright pink line appeared intermittently down the right-hand side. It looks like this (only bright freaking pink): http://forums.androidcentral.com/at...-bright-line-being-shown-display-p1070045.jpg
Today I was playing Fallout Shelter (always makes my phone pretty warm and eats battery). 15% battery warning comes up so I take it to charge. I notice the screen doesn't turn on. There is a momentary flash of dim colour at the top, but otherwise the screen is completely black. I tried pushing the power button several times, but all it did was a momentary flash of dim colour at the top but still black each time.
I took the battery out for a bit, then put it on to charge. The on screen charging display did not appear (stayed black) but after a bit the LED lit up to indicate charging as it would after the screen display turns off. I left it for a while and eventually the screen started working again (99% charge when I checked). I was then able to boot like normal.
However a while later the screen would not turn on again (just the momentary dim flash of colour at the top before black). I didn't do anything with it in this time. It just sat in standby before I tried using it again. The back button and hamburger menu buttons are not seemingly lighting up either. But the led works fine with notifications. I tested calling my phone and it rings fine - if I slide accept the call where it is normally on the screen, I can accept calls and talk like normal. But the screen remains black. So clearly the digitizer works fine.
I have tried taking out the battery for a long period of time, taking the battery out and discharging the remaining power by holding the power button (5 minutes), I have tried taking the phone apart and cleaning the display connector with some isopropyl alcohol and firmly reattaching. Screen is still black.
Is this a problem with a malfunctioning LCD or could it be something like the GPU? I don't want to pay $150-$250 for a replacement screen assembly only to find that it's some other problem
Thanks in advance!
I would suggest to get a new device.

I prefer to repair rather than replace unless I have absolutely no other choice, thanks.
