Hi
I installed a gingerbread nand on a test device and I now wish to revert back to Win mo 6.5 official rom.
When I run through the update utility it doesnt see the device whether I have booted android completely and then connected the usb cable or when I have booted to magldr and selected usb flasher.
Can anyone help?
Yes, As I have done mine today as I am sending back to HTC for a repair. All you need to do is to download the Windows Rom and Radio and then flash it to your phone by powering off your phone and then power your phone back up whilst holding down the volume button. Connect usb and then install the radio and then the rom and your back to windows.
Thanks,
where can I get the radio from?
If you click on this link, you will see the reply to my post. I downloaded both files and all works great. You do not use magldr to flash windows rom or Windows custom rom. All you need to do is enter bootloader by having phone off and then power up with volume button down.

Or you could go on the HTC HD2 Windows 6.5 Forum and download a custom windows rom and Radio its up to you

Hey Spendy
Hope the warranty service works out for you.
As for silentbob - Just download a Windows Mobile ROM. Since you already have HSPL on your device you don't have to re-flash that. Just put your phone in the bootloader (power off, then hold vol down and then power it on). Attach your phone via USB and run the RUU to flash the Windows Mobile ROM to your phone. That will blow away MAGLDR, NAND Android, etc.
If you're not sure where to get a ROM, then go here.
Fingers crossed they will give me a nice new shiny screen and I will be happy. The day I get it back though windows will be history and back to my Nand Android. Thanks for you help today saved me a big headache.

Well, my forensic analysis has come up with the following technical and somewhat difficult solution to your present problem: "Click the search button"
Now I know it may sound intimidating, but I tested that feature out for you and came up with this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905841
matt
Shut down completely your phone (remove batter for 15 sec too)
Place battery back and now hold volume down button.
Still hold volume down button and switch on your phone.
You get 3 color screen.
Now attach your usb cable and connect it to PC
Find on this forum your phone stock win mobile rom (link to officila roms thread)
Run stock win 6.5 rom exe (this is sample name: RUU_Leo_S_HTC_WWE_EastEurope_3.14.479.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship.exe)
Follow instructions on your PC screen. On final your phone reboots.
Enjoy your stock phone.

Switch off, hold vol down button in and switch on.
As ClydeB1, states you must hold the vol down only and not hold the power button.

when you get ready to power back on you have to hold volume down and keep holding it while is booting and it should switched to the tricolored screen, plug the usb cable and it should say usb at the bottom when it connects, and if you have hardspl which I know you have after running android, you can use any custom winmo6.5 rom it doesn't have to be an official rom.
can i flash wm6.5 rom into magdlr usb flasher?
No, flash from bootloader.
awts...i cant enter into booloader mode....im so sure what im doing i sure i follow the instructions of you guys....holding down the vol button and switch on
Are you holding it at the bottom of the button and not in the middle or top, ie as if you are turning the volume down?
I don't think you can flash WM6.5 with flasher. You have to restore from recovery screen by remove battery and restore.

yeah im sure i was holding down the volume botton and switch the power on
Does the vol down button work normally in the Android rom or when moving around in magldr. To be sure, remove the battery and leave it out for 10 minutes then put the battery back, leave the cover off and try again.
I have heard of one or two users who have also had a problem where the vol down button stopped working. If that is the case there is no way back AFAIK.

volume botton is perfectly working it work around in magdlr mode actually i flashed my hd2 into android rom right now flashing is done without problems, but its not boot normarly it boot only in splash screen....
can you guys post a link of task 29...i will try this method and flash stock rom
but the main problem is i cant enter into bootloader mode
I use this tool for Task29 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=917807
Once you run Task29 though it will wipe the NAND memory and magldr and if you can't get back to bootloader mode then you will be stuck on the splashscreen.
Hi,
I'm also having problems, but in my case the progress bar on my phone when installing the new ROM stops at 0% and will stay there indefinably. On my computer a connection problem will be raised.
The same happens with task29.
I've also tried decompressing ROM Utility, putted leoimg.nbh on my 2GB fat32 formatted sdcard, hold down the volume key.
I will get a new screen with "Loading..." on it, but it freezes there.
So, I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.
Any help will be appreciated.

Are you sure you still have hspl installed? In bootloader, check your spl version- it should end in hspl.

Hi,
Yes. I had one with a 8 on it. I've installed the other, and it worked (or the other way). Thanks.
Regards,
guys my phone revive with a jtag procedure i went to a technician shop here in the phillipines
my phone running in stock rom again...
Hi guys, tried my best to search (and I'm sure it's something bloody obvious) but I've not found anything.
Anyway, playing around with the nand android roms recently, I managed to get the whole magldr/cwr flashing going. After testing a few roms that booted up correctly, I tried another. Stuck on the android loading screen.
Flashed to another, same story. Tried to go back to those that actually ran and same problem. So now I'm stuck at the magldr boot screen.
I've decided to go right back to WinMo so is it possible to flash a custom rom (in this instance, Energy's roms) from here?
Thanks in advance.
if you have HSPL installed on the phone you can do a custom ROM, WinMo or otherwise. I assume you already have HSPL if you flashed a Android NAND ROM succesfully as you have posted.

Yes, I do have hardSPL on. Unfortunately I've only ever flashed via WMDC sync so this leaves me in quite the quandary.
1) Turn off
2) Go into the bootloader mode (push both vol. down and power on buttons)
3) Once the bootloader screen appears, plug the HD2 via USB to the PC
4) Flash the Energy ROM with LeoCustomRUU
or
put the same ROM image on a freshly formatted (32FAT) SD card, and perform steps 1 and 2 from above with the SD card inside the HD2.
Both solutions should flash your ROM, MAGLDR will be deleted.

Turn phone off, than turn your phone back on but this time holding the vol down with power button till you get to the tri screen menu, plug your phone in, wait till it says USB on the bottom, and flash back to wm 6.5
Thanking you all very much, fellas, worked a treat!

This is the wrong section to post this.... but all you have to do is pick out a winmo rom you want from the winmo rom section...here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=534
I always used energy rom... it's one of the more popular ones and works well with android on sd.... here's link to energy thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=591784
Once you pick out rom, then to flash, go to bootloader by holding the down volume button while you turn phone on. It should go to tri-colored screen. Plug into usb on computer. Wait for any drivers needed to install. Word on bottom of phone screen should change from serial to USB. Once it says USB, then run the rom update utility that's in the rom folder you downloaded and follow directions. And it'll flash the rom and you'll have winmo back.
It may be a good idea to task 29 it too, but it's not necessary. Search about task29 to learn about that, or read the sticky rollup threads at top of winmo rom section.

It's very simple.
- turnoff your HD2.
- Press "volume down" and press "power key"----> you HD2 go to bootloader.
- Plug cable into PC and your HD2.
- open folder rom_stock and run "ROMUpdateUtility".
- about 5-10 minutes, your HD2 is WM6.5.
And what do you do if vol down and power key doesn't bring you to bootloader but to reboot ? and if vol- vol + power does'nt reset ?

It means your HD2 is going broken down.
Not really : nandroid works fine !!!!
You have to turn off your phone first, then turn on pressing vol - and power key and release the vol- only after seeing the tri color bootloader
The same question...
I have tried to use HTC reset tool.
However, it is not successful.
Hi guys!
I have a question.
If i install MAGLDR and ANDROID NAND FLASH, how can i get back to Windows Mobile?
Thx!
It's simple.
Just download proper soft from HTC.com, go to HSPL and flash through .exe on the PC - 5 minutes.
Be careful when you flash Roms if you flash an official Rom you will lose hspl
Download an windows rom. Power off your phone. Hold the vol-down button and hold power until the three colored screen comes on. Before you connect usb, it should say 'serial'. Plug in the usb and it should say 'USB'. Then all you have to do is flash the windows rom.
have android 4.0 on HD2 and it sucks bad..
how do I restore back to original OS windows 6.5
1. Download any WM 6.5 ROM for your phone you like,
2. power off your phone,
3. power it on while holding vol-down button (you should see 4-colour "matress"),
4. connect hd2 with usb cable to your desktop PC, run WM6.5 flasher.
5. Done... ))
i do that but the flasher says this after it recognize the phone and start flashing it stops and says this error{226} the update utility cannot get response from your PDA phone. please check that your ubs craddle/cable is connected properly between the pc and your pda phone and also check your pda phone.
i tried several times and i cant, even with stock rom, the ics rom it have in it is nand anybody help

For custom rom. try this.

I flash my hd2 using energy rom dinik. with radio 2.12.50.02_2.
So far I have not encountered any bug like freezing of lcd.
Thanks NRGZ28 for the rom and PG101 for the detailed instructions to install custom rom to my phone.
Yeh I would recomend NRG wm6.5 roms too, best wm6.5.3 experience available & it works perfect.
Try flashing via sd & check you current HSPL & radio are suitable too ...
yeah im actually trying to flash a wm6 from NGR but then again this phone have nand android installed and when i try to flash the wm6 ruu the flasher stops at 0% and says that the phone its not connected, after it showed it did before i pressed next, do i need any kind of drivers?
i have ht drivers from my sensation are they the same? i am a total noob for this phone and i dont like the ics thats why i wanna go stock while i learn little by little how to do things with it.
Flash via SD card method is probably way to go but take care with radio versions if a TMOUS HD2 or you will brick it.
You could install ActiveSync if XP or WMDC6.1 for Vista/W7 as it has drivers.
you can do a factory reset which should fix the problem
