yep, it only works on the droid unfortunately. I want it to get ported over to our phones. I think it's a really unique typing interface and to be able to do 50 words a minute as it claims would be awesome.

At the bottom of the article that was first posted, it says it would be a great app for the HTC Magic. Maybe it does work?

you have to modify it to get it to work. I tried it yesterday when i first heard it came out. It installs, but the keyboard does not come up and it displays an error message saying that the screen resolution is too small for it.
Shouldn't be too hard to do then, right? I mean, now there's Android devices with different size screens, App developers have to program for that sort of stuff. Couldn't they just modify the code in this one? Or is that not allowed seeing as though it's not open source?

I guess we shall see, right? Someone will probably still do it even though it's not open source. The only one that actually follows the rules is Cyanogen; you don't see anyone else who cares about the cease and desist cuz it wasn't given to them.

I thought the G2 was going to be a vanilla android device..
And if it does have HTC stuff there might be problems related to framework.

What I can tell you is that this build does not include Rosie.apk which is the core of SenseUI, so this is definitely more vanilla than other recent HTC Android phones.
Drizzy corrected himself later. he apparently had the Ace and G2 dumps confused.
The one I posted on twitter (link a few posts above) is the unpackaged and rezipped system.img from the leaked G2 ROM

Apologies for the noob question here, but is there anyway to extract bootanimation.zip from the ROM?
There doesn't seem to be a bootanimation.zip file included in the system dump.
There is a bootanimation file in the dump under bin folder havent tried to do anything with it yet jus got the dump jus starting to sift thru it dont seem to be much usefull to me so far pertty standard **** dont look like any apps are anything id wanna put effort into porting as of now

That's not a bootanimation. That's an executable you're looking at.
Android stores the actual boot animation under /system/media/.
Has anyone played with the launcher yet? Apparently the dock is customizable but I can't figure out how.

in order to change the buttons on the launcher you need to get the settings.apk as well, i tried pushing both on my slide and launcher looks good, but settings crashes when i open the quick keys option. i will post back if i get it working(may even give a screenshot
i got as far as the tutorial looking wizard for quick keys but when trying to use the widget or going through settings it crashes(this might be due to the lack of keys mapped to those positions which can be looked into later) if you want pics check my twitter and i can upload more upon request

I've read some about it and that's way i've taken interest in it and found out that my rooted wildfire stocked 2.1 flipclock doesn't actually flip. But to others they say it flips.
What about your wildfire?

Actually Wildfire supports animation....go to menu/settings/sounds & notifications/animation and there you can choose the various settings.....none, limited or full

Still the clock doesn't flip though?
I'd say it has to dow ith the ROM itself. When I first got my Wildfire, it was running the Vodafone 1.25.something. When I started mucking with it and flashed to the stock 1.37.405, the clock no longer flipped.
Clock doesn't flip because htc does not allow in sense ui 2,0 but new htc sense ui (Desire HD) support it again...I hope you undersud me..sorry about my bad english.

tried messing around with the zip file from thatdudebutch who ported the htc flipclock from desireHD, and flashed it on my wildfire. The clock actually flipped, but since it's a different resolution, therefore it's too big and messed up. Dunno how to convert it into a lower resolution, anyone interested in porting it into our wildfire?

I resized the images.
However if I needed to edit also the xml files, I found out I can't edit the xml files with a normal text editor.
See if it works.. My phone isn't rooted anymore.
Downloading now, will post result later after I've pushed it on my phone.

OK, silly trivial question here. Does anyone know where to get the wallpaper that's on the phone in the picture on the HTC Aria official site (HTC site, products section - I can't post links here yet)? It was not on the stock ROM (that I saw, anyway), it is not on FR008.
No one really knows where to find that wallpaper. I've tried. It looks sweet though. Ever since I've got my phone I have tried.

Some1 made Q-thread about fancy Sense LWP like bootanimation. I was wondering how to extract images from LWP apk. Uncle Google didn't helped . I think it's impossible to get those images from apk. But in some way I get full animation It will be my sweet mystery how I do that. It was quite simple but sneaky.
I've made few versions. The clear one is most smooth coz I could resize images and stretch them in phone without losing sharpness. Also I couldn't make it as slow as LWP because of smooth but it still looks great IMO. You can try to change fps value. So, after long hours of work here it is:
(of course it's moving like original LWP)
