There are some very odd battery issues with this at the mo, in short, dont run your battery down flat.
Charge up your phone, install the HTC battery tool, run it and make sure its full,. ACR should read 1250ish, it might be a bit below that depending on age.
then use the Battery reg tweak to set windows to report the correct battery levels.
but you still may have issues charging, it may requirer you to restart and charge, and/or unplug and charge
Also dont reboot with your USB attached, it doesnt like that just now!

any solution for this yet??
thanks

Charging stuck at 70%,PLS HELP

Guys pls help..I have this problem, that when I'm charging my trinity,it couldn't reach 100% of charging (full charge) instead was stuck to 70%.eventhough i charge it overnight.I'm thinking if it is a battery prob or the charger. i am using the originally supplied charger & battery.
Thanks in advance...
Have you tried powering the unit off, removing the battery for, say, 15 seconds, then refitting it and rebooting?... Check the battery level after reboot?... Then retry charging again?...
Maybe a full discharge might help "reset" the above problem too?...
I'm not sure, but I think the Trinity battery management is quite dependant on so called "coulomb counting" and I reckon sometimes it goes a bit wrong.

Try battery callibration procedure!
The actual standalone charger (if that's what you're referring to) has no intelligence in it to speak of. Battery charge monitoring/status will be an integral function to the phone itself using dedicated h/w.
Something's not quite right with your kit somehow. Maybe the battery has gone a bit wrong (could be replaced - how much use has it had?)... Rather that than the phone itself, in which case it'll need repair.
You can try tnyynt's suggestion of Battery Calibration. Basically this requires you to totally discharge the battery (I suggest thru normal use of your phone!) then when it shuts down "cos battery is flat" reboot the phone into its bootloader screen (power down, then press and hold Power & Camera buttons until Tri-colour screen is displayed)... Then just leave the phone until it powers off of its own accord.
This may take a few hours (I did mine recently and it took @4hrs!) but the battery should be as discharged as its possible to get by that point...
And if you're lucky, it might just sort your problem out when you next recharge!
Good luck dude!!!

thanx again LoopyLoo,you made this procedure (battery callibration) clear to me,on how to do it.will try this procedure and will report asap the result.hope it works (fingers crossed),and hope it's not an internal phone prob.
Thanx Bro!!:>
Let me know how you get on.
I'm a little baffled as to why you have problems with your friends charge too but not USB???...
battery callibration not worked...
I'm sorry to report that after 3 times of trying the battery callibration method,my trinity still doesn't reach its 100% capacity of charging thru the standalone charger..but mysteriously charge a 100% with USB charging..I'm still not really sure why this happened..maybe will try to see a mobile technician for PPC..anyways,thanx for all your suggestion..will report ASAP after going to a service center..

Just keep it plugged in for 1-2 hours and then try booting in to try color screen bootloader and go from there.....
If you have MAGLDR installed then you can not charge the battery when the phone is off.
You should try to charge the battery using an external charger.
Edit: If you have a friend with HD2 and windows Mobile 6.5 then you could use the phone to charge you battery.
Wrong, you can charge it while it's off.

really? are you sure? because there are a lot of references to the magldr bug that wont allow charging (or even powering on without pulling the battery) if you try to charge with the phone turned off.
well i tried to charge for the last 2 hours nothing tried to remove battery nothing. Iam going to try and find a charged battery to see if the phone mite turn on or something. ill post later to let yall know what happen tho. thanks for the help.

Wrong x2.
1. No one is fighting.
2. With new magldr, phone turns itself on when plugged in. Charging when off is not possible. The battery requires management which is only implemented in software. It may hold a small charge if you have magldr installed, but it won't charge fully, or properly. Also, it's not likely he's got the new magldr if he's returning back to windows.
Lastly, for the OP, what method did you use to return to winmo? And which winmo rom did you use?

Find a way to charge your battery and everything it's going to be just fine.Your phone it is going to work.
Changing the battery should work.
I'm new here so basically with new 1.13 or later phone can't be charging if it's not turned on?

Read? Phone turns itself on if you connect a charger. Phone has NEVER charged while off with nand. This way at least you don't have to pull the battery to turn the phone on.
Sent from my HD2 NANDroid using XDA App
Just in case: If you on same situation that described on first post try this:
Q: If you completely run down the battery, would you be able to charge it with the phone again?
A: If your battery is dead, press and hold Vol Down and plug in USB cable / charger at same time. Phone will boot into bootloader and charge there just fine. Leave for 20 mins, pull battery, reboot and charge normally. If phone has just run down, plugging in the charger will usually turn it on.
Its found on one NAND thread and goals goes to g.lewarne
Actually i was on same situation and this helped on first try.
check the connection between battery and phone , the metal things i mean.
Perhaps, it is off the subject, but...
Poster #1: why do you want to get rid of this beautiful phone?
Just curious...
ok i bought another phone and i took out the charged battery from it and put it in the bricked HTC and it does nothing. now i know it was almost reverted back and i think the battery ran down but Iam not completely sure but maybe it could have been in the reverting software i used and maybe it just like lock up or something cause at that point you couldnt see the battery indicator. now i guess ill just have to sell on ebay for parts but it would be cool to try and un-brick it or try and figure it out.

You can't charge with phone off with magldr... the phone needs to be on. Cotulla has it turn on on purpose when it's plugged in because people were complaining that they had to remove battery to boot after charging while off. This is mentioned in the magldr thread as a feature of the newest version.
Why not just leave it on while charging?

let it rest ? maximize my mobile life by switching it off every night?
am i wrong ?
marginal difference, you would get a better charge if you slow charged it....potentially.
also run it low an charge rather than lots of little charges, do not empty battery!! if you do you wont be able to turn on the phone which in turn means you wont be able to charge it at all.
If you do run it empty and WP7 fails to boot before turning off again you may have one or two shots at getting it to charge
this is only a last ditch chance at getting your phone to boot in such situations with out resorting to external charging
so, if your phone turns off due to being empty then restarts by its self but fails to load the os before restarting again , remove the battery straight away, letting it restart and fail over an over will only make things worse
next you need to apply some high school physics to the battery.....
heat it up, place it on a radiator or somewhere you can heat it up and keep it to hand, do not use a fire or a heat source strong enough to burn you, no not leave it on otherwise it will likely blowup.
anyhow, once the battery is toasty warm you should be able to get 1 shot at loading the OS to allow propper charging. This will only work if there is some charge in teh battery, if you go to far than external charge is the onlyother alternative

I don't think you will increase the life of your phone in any way by turning it off.

[Q] HD2 won't turn on/charge

My Phone won't turn on, even to load into magldr when charged. The phone sometimes vibrates when I plug it in, like it's trying to turn on, but doesn't have enough battery to load into magldr to charge...
The phone worked fine before (except semi-regular restarts, probably due to the memory card), so do you think the battery is the issue? If so should I just buy a new one and hope that it has enough charge to load magldr, then charge, or is there a way to charge the battery whilst it's not in the handset?
Cheers
Try making sure that the pins are both aligned to the battery.
thanks, you just saved me a tenner
can't believe i didn't think to check that...

No Problem
Incidently, i know you got it fixed which is great but for the record and anyone else searching for this.
If your battery is nackard and you cant get to WP7 and MAGLDR isnt able to load to start charging that way you can try to warm up the battery a bit, dont use a direct heat source, but just warm it slightly, dont over do it, or it might blow up, you'll help the chemical reactions inside which "might" be enough to get you in to magldr or even WP7 its self
anyhow, glad you fixed it!
If my battery dies completely, sometimes it wont turn back on and wont charge. But I found that if you pull the battery, plug the charger into the phone, and then put the battery back in while its plugged into the charger, it seems to fix the issue. It turns the device on and begins charging once again.

amazing advice! thanks given =D

[Q] HTC HD2 died and now won't charge.

Hi,
Since yesterday my phone (leo/hd2) died and when ever i tried to charge it it would go in to a boot loop then back to normal booting (as in wp7 bootscreen) but now a day later it won't even charge! I have checked the pins tried different cables and still nothing. Also there is a small red tab on the bottom of the battery near the connecter which used to be pink.
Maybe your battery is completely drained? If so, check here.
it won't even turn on so i can't perform this > does this mean it's dead?
have you tried a different battery because you have used a WP7 rom and when the battery drains out it can not be charged ( unless charged on another phone) so i recommend you using a different phone to charge your battery or get another battery into your phone
Thanks, i'll try that now. But does the red tab mean anything?
Hi,
I have this very often. Problem is that your battery is completely drained and the phone doesn't have enough power to start.
This is how I solve it:
start charging your phone
when it switches on, keep pressing the power on/off button
you'll arrive in the magldr boot screen.
just wait for about 5 to 10 minutes
start windows phone (it's possible you'll have to remove your battery and put it back in your phone).
Voila WP7 starts without any problem.
good luck!
try an external battery charger/universal battery charger. (i recommend keeping one handy whenever u r messing with wp7)

Piece of crap?
Whoa, cannot agree there...
If you carefully follow all the tutorials, hints and tips here at xda, HD2 runs fast and smooth with several OS´s of your choice.
However, there is still a possibility that your device is defective. Or the cable. Or whatever. But that doesn´t make HD2 a piece of crap in general.
Lol, its the charging port and a defective rom once i fix both i will have to go back to miui ;( Is there any rom which allows charging while the phones off.
Hi,
It's not the rom, it's magldr...
Koen
What do you mean? Do i need to downgrade? Can you charge while it's off?
if u have 1.13 and u can reach the magldr screen then plug it in,quickly switch it to usb masstorage mode. but dont keep it there for long as the screen will be awake all the time.
try keeping it that way for 15-20 mins,it shld give u enuf juice to boot it up

what he meant was that, its not the ROM's fault that u cant charge it while the phone's off,
you see, whenever u plug in a switched off phone,it quickly boots into the magldr mode, before booting ANY OS( or any version of any rom ),and thats y it wont charge while switched off(unless future magldr provides this function)....the only reason WinMo cld charge your phone while switched off is that it dint need MAGLDR before booting
try the usb mass storage method if possible,it works
hope i helped ya
dont forget to thank all the hardworking developers
I always have a problem with aftermarket chargers and charging through USB. It won't chargers in both scenarios....any body has an idea on that?
When my HD2 completely drains i just attach the (original) charger and it will start cycling boot...but eventually the battery will be charged.
