Rom Flashing Help - HD2 General

So, I have installed HSPL 2.08. I flashed ChuckyDroid and it worked fine but I wanted more. So I flashed an Omega rom and it was cool but now I want to Flash Magldr1.3 and try wm7 or a nand android. The problem I am having is, when I start to flash the new rom, I get the HTC screen and 0% and it stays there forever. I end up pulling the battery and resetting the phone. I first tried with Mgldr then a few other wm6.5 roms with the same problem. Why can't I flash roms anymore?
I searched the thread and had no luck. I apologize in advance ir this has been covered before.

Try to flash stock Rom from tricolor or even from Your microSD card. And then hspl, magldr etc.

How about this way.
Assuming you still can reach Boot Loader and You still have SPL 2.08 HSPL installed.
Go into bootloader screen and connect your phone using usb, and let the word: "serial" in the below of phone (the white color bar) changed to: "USB". If you fails, retry it using different ports, and dont forget to turn off your antivirus, firewall and internet connection, or even your screen saver.
While in bootloader, do "task 29", flash radio 2.15.xxx, install magldr 1.13 (all in sequence).
Assuming you succeed it. Now, we go into flashing NAND WP7 (or NAND Android).
Assuming that you already have NAND WP7 (or NAND ANDROID).
Go into magldr screen, you know how to do it right?
There, select option 5 (USB Flasher) and confirm it by pressing the phone call (green) button and connect your phone using usb to pc.
Run your NAND WP7 (or NAND ANDROID) rom.
Finish.
Good luck

[Q] Flashing from nand android back to winmo6.5

Hi guys, tried my best to search (and I'm sure it's something bloody obvious) but I've not found anything.
Anyway, playing around with the nand android roms recently, I managed to get the whole magldr/cwr flashing going. After testing a few roms that booted up correctly, I tried another. Stuck on the android loading screen.
Flashed to another, same story. Tried to go back to those that actually ran and same problem. So now I'm stuck at the magldr boot screen.
I've decided to go right back to WinMo so is it possible to flash a custom rom (in this instance, Energy's roms) from here?
Thanks in advance.
if you have HSPL installed on the phone you can do a custom ROM, WinMo or otherwise. I assume you already have HSPL if you flashed a Android NAND ROM succesfully as you have posted.

Yes, I do have hardSPL on. Unfortunately I've only ever flashed via WMDC sync so this leaves me in quite the quandary.
1) Turn off
2) Go into the bootloader mode (push both vol. down and power on buttons)
3) Once the bootloader screen appears, plug the HD2 via USB to the PC
4) Flash the Energy ROM with LeoCustomRUU
or
put the same ROM image on a freshly formatted (32FAT) SD card, and perform steps 1 and 2 from above with the SD card inside the HD2.
Both solutions should flash your ROM, MAGLDR will be deleted.

Turn phone off, than turn your phone back on but this time holding the vol down with power button till you get to the tri screen menu, plug your phone in, wait till it says USB on the bottom, and flash back to wm 6.5
Thanking you all very much, fellas, worked a treat!

[Q] Possible Brick?? Some help if possible

Hey Guys,
I have NFI what happened to my phone but I think its bitten then dust..
I've been running NAND Android builds for a while now, the phone has been a bit funky for a few weeks now so I wanted to completely wipe and start form scratch..
So I download Task29 a new radio and ROM from the links in the ROM page (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933951) and ran Task29 like I have multiple times before.
The install went fine, and the phone rebooted like its meant to but now its stuck on the HTC screen, I can't boot in MAGLDR or HSPL...
So, is it borked??
suitable radio? suitable spl? both are critical. magldr wont work without 2.08.hspl and a ..50.. radio

The radio that was installed on before running TASK29 was, Radio Leo 2.15.50.14.
It already had HSPL v2.08 and MGLDR 1.3, already installed.
As I said, I've flashed new WinMo and Android ROM's hundreds of times, I mean I dont normally run Task29 before every install but I have multiple times in the past.
I only ran Task29 today as the phone was being really bad so I though a clean install might be the best way to go.
hmm, not sure what to suggest without sounding patronising, hehe,
there are a few people that cant seem to get magldr to start, for no good reason,
reflash the radio (just in case) manually go check the spl in bootloader again (just in case it doesnt say 2.08.hspl,, sometimes what you know for a fact is true actually isnt) and as for magldr, well its susceptible to all the usual flashing issues, , run as administrator, try every usb port, turn off your firewall,,,, try another pc even, , in fact if you have another pc available, try that first.
Thanks for the replies, but I can't get it to boot into MGLDR or SPL thats my problem.
When I turn it on it loads up the 1st HTC logo and hangs.
Is there another way that I can flash a radio of I cant boot into SPL???
I've read something about this before. I don't think it's an easy fix and it may be best to try go back to where you bought it and try get a replacement or send it in to HTC. I'm not too sure if they'll know that you have HSPL installed. I'd say highly likely they will. Have you tried hard resetting? Or can you not get to that screen?
If you want to find more on this just google "HD2 Wsod" or "HD2 White screen of death". You'll find lots if people with the same thing.
My HD2 has something similar but I can get to HSPL but it stays at a blank white screen with normal power on.
What happens when it's off snd you plug in the USB? Does it try start because of MAGLDR or just charge/do nothing?

Thanks for the reply, when I plug the USB cable in while the phone is off, only the charge light comes up. Doesn't actually try and boot

I know you said you ha e flashed hundreds of times, so you should know this. I am not being patronizing here either, but I will say it anyway. You have gwo different ways to flash a new radio, but both require gou to put gour HD2 into bootloader.
To put your HD2 into bootloader turn the device off and then turn it back on but hold the volume down button wbile it is booting and it will go to bootloader.
Whilr jn bootloader connect via USB cable to gour computer wait until you see USB the wbite bar of bootloader then you can flash the radio, a Win Mo ROM, HSPL, or MAGLDR just wich ever one uou want to flash at that time.
You can use a 500MB to 4GB SD card to flash the radio as well as a Win Mo ROM. You just rename the.nbh file to leoimg.nbh for the radio or the ROM and copy it to the root of your SD card. plasce the SD card back in the device. Put the device into bootloader but do not let go of the volume down botton until you see search hinge on the screen of the device. Be aware though if you flash a official ROM this way it will overwrite everything HSPL and all so you whind up with a stock HD2 again.
Stupid question: you are holding down the volume down button to boot into HSPL right?

[Solved] Problem flashing Android on HD2

Hey guys,
currently I´m trying to flash Android NAND on a HD2.
Apparently there are some problems with the bootloader.
I tried two different ways, which are explained in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905060
First I tried to install MAGLDR 1.13. Here is the problem that MAGLDR 1.13 seems not to be properly installed because the phone wont boot in the MAGLDR bootloader. It just hangs at the green/white HTC bootscreen.
As second method I tried to flash cLK 1.4. Here the bootloader seems to be installed properly but it´s not possible to install the ClockworkMod Recovery. Every time I start the batch file it hangs on "waiting for device".
Since I tried some things I only can boot into the bootloader and no longer load Windows.
I´ve installed the latest radio (Radio Leo 2.15.50.14) and HSPL (3.03).
Any ideas what I can do know?
when you install magldr it wipes windows off the deivce, you are aware of that?
when you start the device with magldr you need to hold the power off button til you get the menu up then you can use the usb flasher if it is a daf installer or you need to install CWM recovery and install a rom that way
either way windows will no longer be on your device
Yeah I know this. But the problem is that the magldr bootloader is not booting. It hangs on the white HTC screen. Without any other reaction.

what version of android did you install? you need HSPL 2.08 or it will not work anways
if all you done was install magldr without install anything else it will do exactly as you have described because there is nothing for it to load up
I think you misunderstood me
Normally if magldr was installed correctly I should see a screen like this (http://www.xda-developers.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/MAGLDR-boot-menu.jpg), when I boot with hold power button+left arrow key.
But when I press this combination it does not boot to this screen. It just does nothing. And this is why I can´t proceed with any instruction, because I need a working magldr.

I'm new to all this too so bare with me.
I think you may have installed the wrong HSPL. This is from the HSPL thread.
Android / WP7 / MAGLDR don't support HSPL3.03/OSPL3.03.
You need HSPL2.08 to run Android / WP7 / MAGLDR
When you installed HSPL you chose the wrong option. Someone more knowlegable will hopefully come along and tell you how to fix it.
After destroying and downgrading of HSPL with an original HTC Win Rom I could install a new HSPL again...
Don´t ask me how I´ve done this, but it worked
So thanks to all!

Is this HD2 screwed?

Okay guys, am I screwed?
I tried putting android on this HD2.
I successfully installed HSPL 2.08 HSPL (So NO 2.08.0000)
Then I tried installing MAGLDR 1.13, just by executing the ROMUtilityUpdater.exe.
Clicked the first checkbox, then the 2nd, and then that 'Update' thingy.
It was going to updating from 1.72.XXXXX to 2.00.0.000 (or something)
I had it connected through Activesync (WinXP).
It was ready in 30seconds, instead of the normal 10 minutes.
Now it just hangs on the White HTC bootscreen.
I tried doing a Task29, but in the RGB Bootloader (USB connected) screen it won't connect to ActiveSync. I Ran it anyway, but still no Windows or MAGLDR.
Do I need to install a different Radio? If so how do I do that and where can I find it?
I am downloading a stock WinMo 6.5 Rom (vodafone branded, from HTC.com)
Thanks for all the help in advance!
had simillar problem. I would just install the latest Windows ROM 3.03 but thru SD card (Download official 3.03 ROM for Your phone, extract it, change the nbh file name to LEOIMG, put it on Your SD card, Switch the phone on holding volume button down, and then go with the instructions on the screen) cuz it changes Your SPL, then install HSPL 4. After that install CLK and CLOCKWORK and then NAND Your device with clk version android.
Look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1021837 if You dont know how to install clK. It is a bit complicated but if You are a bit computer literate You should be ok.
Okay, thanks!
I installed a stock vodafone rom, it is booting now!
so where do i find 2.15 pesky radio 2.15 rom?
I installed HSPL using HSPL in the first place

[Q]Help: is this HD2 dead?

First, sorry if I post the kind of question that has been already asked 1000 times, I'll understand if my post is deleted.
here is the story: I still have an HD2, but got a Sensation almost one year ago.
Now my HD2 is still WinMo 6.5 with Android from the SD card.
Yesterday, one of my pupils (yes, I'm a teacher, and my pupils know I'm into smartphones....!) gave me his HD2 because his father kinda bricked it.
I haven't been using my HD2 or reading XDA HD2 section or a long time (I'm too busy flashing my Sensation, so reading Sensation threads ), but I thought I could give it a try to unbrick it, I'm not a noob after all (selfish guy!!!!!!!!!)
I think this HD2 was somehow bricked while trying to install Android into NAND, or installing MAGDLR, as far as my pupil can tell from his dad
So this Sensation can't boot and has this, written in the 3 colours screen
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-2.08.00 8G XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
icroP(TOUCH) 0x40
Upgrade ROM code error
Please try again

Here is the state I had this HD2, unable to boot, just able to get into bootloader with the message above.
I tried to flash latest Dutty ROM (because I was using Dutty creme of the creme at my HD2 time!)
=> through USB, flash freezes sometimes at 2%, sometimes 75%
=> through SD card: it flashes, says it's successful, but the device doesn't boot, back to three colors screen, or white screen with error message if trying to boot normally
I tried task29: full of errors, not better after flashing a ROM
I tried flashing a shipped "official" ROM => same as custom ROM, says success, flashed through SD card, but never boots to something else than 3 colors screen..
I tried factory reset, said successful, but still no boot!!
I tried flashing a Radio ROM=> flash successful, but still no boot
I tried flashing HSPL again, 2.08 and previous versions: it flashes OK, can see the changes in three colours screen, but no success flashing a ROM after
I noticed that sometimes, this HD2 vibrates 7 times quickly in a row, which my own HD2 had never done, and I suppose it's a very bad signal
I'm not a noob at all, but really can't follow every thread, and tried the search function with no real luck.
Is this HD2 definitly bricked? Is there something I can do?
Sorry again to seem so noob, I would have flammed someone posting like me, when I was following HD2 development everyday, before having my Sensation (and a Moto Defy for my wife)
see the line ''SPL-2.08.00 8G XE'' (you actually mean 2.08.0000) well teh .0000 tells you its NOT hspl, its a stock spl, so nothing will flash.
run hspl 2,3 or 4 and choose ''2.08.hspl''. Flashing, task29, magldr, all that will now flash.
THANKS!
how stupide I am (or too long away from WinMo)
I had tried hspl2 that was unable to do the job, hspl4 did it
So now I have spl 2.08.hspl
...but face other problem:
task29 fails: it launches OK but my HD2 disconnects from USB as soon as task29 starts its process
if I try to flash a custom ROM (the dutty one my own HD2 is still using), via usb, same, usb disconnects (it wasn't before I flashes hspl 2.08)
If I try flashing as a LEOIMG with microSD, it feezes at about 2/3 of the process
trying to flash a shipped ROM leads to errors, back to three colors screen with "Upgrade ROM code error Please try again"
...not to mention each time it replaces the hspl by stock spl
Any idea?

don't run flashes from running winmo, enter bootloader manually, when serial --> usb, run your flash/task29 or whatever. (Gorget about task29, it isnt necessary)
alternatively, if you do run it from running winmo, then once the phone has restarted and the usb has timed out, simply run teh flash program again, and dont touch teh phone, since it will now be in bootloader, and my above note takes over.

because that's the way to remove hspl, , flash a stock rom from sd. Step 1 of sd flashing is the spl gets flashed, removing hspl, the phone then restarts and tries to flash the stock rom, but now that hspl has gone it fails, since you aren't using the correct stock rom for that particular phone.
Try this, get the stock 3.14 rom ( filename will be RUU_Leo_S_HTC_WWE_3.14.405.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship )
EDIT - you dont have a tmous, right? if you do, dont do this!)
phone into bootloader
use hspl4 to set 3.03.hspl
phone into bootloader
flash the 3.14 rom over usb.
report back.
Man, I'm on the good way!
3.03.hspl seems to be the key, when 20.8hspl wasn't
While the stock 3.14 ROM finished to download, I could run a Task29 till the end, no more USB disconnecting.
Crossing fingers!
I'll edit this post once I've tried to flash the stock 3.14 ROM
Huge thanks to you !!!!
2.x spl is not a stock spl for regular hd2's, only tmous, so whilst it does work, it does introduce the odd problem. for example you cant sd flash stock roms with 1.x versions when you are currently on 2.x.
SO, with a regular hd2, any time you wanna return to stock or are having flashing troubles of some kind, it is always worth using hspl.exe (2,3 or 4 , doesnt matter) to remove the 2.x spl/hspl.
For me, I always go back to 1.66.0000 using hspl2 before i even try to flash a stock rom. Since i choose a 0000 ending, it will be updated as required by the stock rom.
Fingers crossed it helped.
