I had a reply from Carrier Devices, The manufacture of the QTEK1010 (XDA).
I sent the following email:
I am interested in obtaining an upgrade for my QTEK1010 PDA. I'm after Windows Mobile 2003. Is this obtainable or is it going to be. According to Microsoft's web site, you the OEM are the people to talk to about this. Look forward to hearing from you.
Regards
Jason Moodie
I recieved the following email:
Dear Jason,
Microsoft Mobile 2003 represents several major feature enhancements to Pocket PC 2002, especially in the connectivity and mobility aspects where the Qtek 1010 is very strong. As Microsoft has just released the new upgrade there will be a short delay for us to finalise the other elements we need to add to the operating system in order to complete our devices. We will be providing an upgrade at an additional cost once our integration is complete and we have checked the compatibility of existing applications with Microsoft Mobile 2003.
Best regards,
John Williamson
I am requesting a ETA on this upgrade. I will keep you informed.
Hi,
can someone tell me where i can sing up for a free microsoft exchange account that support Direct Push ?
Thanks
nico
There are plenty of places you can get a free trial, but as Microsoft is a licensed product, you'll be very hard pushed to find a service provider that gives you it for free.
I own an O2 model, but I believe if you own an I-mate you can get a free account at club I-mate.

Hi folks, am suspicious of this imei-check firm as this is what happened when I tried to buy an unlock file from them:
I selected pay, and was offered to use Paypal or ordinary credit/debit cards, so I used my debit card.
I then found I wasn't being billed the £9.99 touted price, but without warning they had added "sales tax", bumping the figure to £11.74
I went ahead and paid, the transaction went through, then their web page and subsequent email wanted a scan of a bill or my driving license "to prove I am who I say I am".
I refused to give any such information as they already have my billing address which is the same address my bank uses and which they check, also the wanting a scan of my drivers license gives them scope for identity theft, so I read that request as phishing. Also, knowing my customer account number for utilities like water or electricity also gives scope for invasion of privacy and identity theft.
I wrote to say this, refusing their request for further information.
I also stated that I've had this phone for some years so there is not likely to be any problem with the imei.
This firm has stated that they don't give refunds, citing that they pay money to somewhere for the unlock keys.
So now lets see whether they honour the transaction and either send me a valid unlock keyfile or refturn my money in full....
And in the meantime I am anxious, worrying about their invasion of privacy and strange way of doing business..
Peter
getting very alarmed !
Hello,
"Fone-Xs" ?!?!?! Where did you seen this ? also before the purchase was a RED notice warning you regarding the ID verification which asked you NOT to purchase unless you willing to send copy from an ID for verification.
Also you used PAYPAL as payment method (even if you used a credit card).. you sent the credit card details to PAYPAL not to US!!! we don't have any credit card details here!!!!paypal deals with this.
Regards,
IMEI-CHECK Team

Go to MS website and to support page. Find support by online chat service.
Ask your code in the chat. done.
I'm from Portugal and i can't get a key, so...if someone can help?
thanks.
Try via chating with MS, if that doesn't work PM me, i'll try and help out myself.
I can't enter the chat, no working in portugal
FYI, I sent a mail to MS South Africa, and received my activation code within 48 hours. I don´t live there, but move around inside Europe frequently.
I actually mis-typed the mail-address, wanting to send my request to the Swiss support. Turned out that MS SA is quite friendly, too.
