Are inei-check.co.uk bona-fide? - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Hi folks, am suspicious of this imei-check firm as this is what happened when I tried to buy an unlock file from them:
I selected pay, and was offered to use Paypal or ordinary credit/debit cards, so I used my debit card.
I then found I wasn't being billed the £9.99 touted price, but without warning they had added "sales tax", bumping the figure to £11.74
I went ahead and paid, the transaction went through, then their web page and subsequent email wanted a scan of a bill or my driving license "to prove I am who I say I am".
I refused to give any such information as they already have my billing address which is the same address my bank uses and which they check, also the wanting a scan of my drivers license gives them scope for identity theft, so I read that request as phishing. Also, knowing my customer account number for utilities like water or electricity also gives scope for invasion of privacy and identity theft.
I wrote to say this, refusing their request for further information.
I also stated that I've had this phone for some years so there is not likely to be any problem with the imei.
This firm has stated that they don't give refunds, citing that they pay money to somewhere for the unlock keys.
So now lets see whether they honour the transaction and either send me a valid unlock keyfile or refturn my money in full....
And in the meantime I am anxious, worrying about their invasion of privacy and strange way of doing business..

getting very alarmed !
Hello,
"Fone-Xs" ?!?!?! Where did you seen this ? also before the purchase was a RED notice warning you regarding the ID verification which asked you NOT to purchase unless you willing to send copy from an ID for verification.
Also you used PAYPAL as payment method (even if you used a credit card).. you sent the credit card details to PAYPAL not to US!!! we don't have any credit card details here!!!!paypal deals with this.
Regards,
IMEI-CHECK Team

If you bought Nexus 7 and didn't get 25$ credit (and missing Google Books, Google Magazines, Google Movies) this method may work for you.

6.Click again Add VPN, and enter this definitions:
Name: SuperFreeVPN
Server address: superfreevpn.com
and click save.
7.Now click on SuperFreeVPN,for username enter:free, and for password go to website superfreevpn.com and look for VPN Password.

non US card with the real name and address thats linked to the billing... and just a US zip and telephone number works?
or was it a US address and phone number... with just a non-US credit card number?
If you select that the card is from United States it is asking you only for name, zip code and telephone number.
I entered my real card number, my real name, US zip code and US telephone.

Oh wow great. Thanks for this. hoping to get my Nexus 7 tomorrow.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Thanks! I will be trying this Friday, saves me a few $ on a dedicated VPN to USA.
it works thx.. now where is the transformers movie?
Open Google Movies (when you connected to VPN) and Transformers should be there.
Excuse my naivety but isn't there a potential risk to your card details if entering them and sending payment details through VPN? If not from external parties at least from the unknown employees of Superfreevpn? Thanks for the advice (and I am sure it works great and is secure) but I'll wait for it (wallet) to be released officially as if money did go missing I can't see Google jumping up to help replace given that a workaround has been instigated to get $25 dollars off them!
after i get the $25 credit, can I change back the credit card information and stop the vpn?
or do this after i use all the credit?

Try to reboot the device, if it is won't help try factory reset.

I reconsidered, if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. I will pay for a VPN for 1 month to setup the N7 and make sure that my data is safe.

Which VPN did you opt for? Did you set up the VPN out of the box or after a factory reset?
I just got my Nexus today (in Australia) and wanted to subscribe to Wired! magazine, as I have been a reader of this on the iPad since it came out.
I didn't fully use the procedure in the OP but I did add my Aussie credit card with a random US address in order to purchase the subscription (I use Tor to connect to US sites). Then I used Titanium to 'defrost' Google Play Magazines on the device and I have my subscription
wow i got it to work.
if i download the transformers movie can you still watch it when not on vpn?

Could Company Apps Setting Be Exploited In Some Way To Sideload Homebrew Apps?

Forgive my noobness if this sounds stupid but was looking at the company apps setting on my Lumia 928 and was wondering if it could be exploited in anyway as far as sideloading homebrew? Out of curiosity, not that I expected it to work, I emailed myself a .xap file and got an error saying there was something wrong with my company app and to contact the company's support person. So went to company app settings and it asks for email, password, username, domain, and server but does it actually check the authenticity of the domain and/or server for a legitimate company or could someone simply set up a server hosting .xap files to be downloaded simply by registering and logging in with these settings? Even wondered if I simply used this info from the email server if it would install through email but seems too simple and haven't messed with it.

this would work, but theres a lot you have to do to set it up:
There are some general steps that companies must follow to establish a company account, enroll devices, and distribute apps to their enrolled devices. The following sections provide an overview of this process:
1. The company registers a company account on Windows Phone Dev Center and acquires an enterprise certificate from Symantec.
2.The company creates an application enrollment token (AET).
3.The company develops a Company Hub app.
4.The company prepares their apps for distribution.
5. Employees (or other users) enroll for company app distribution on their phones and install the company apps by using the Company Hub app.
you have to use intune director. Companys have to register with windows phone dev and aquire an enterprise cert. This *could* be a way to install homebrew apps, but it'd be easier if there was some kind of workaround.
