how to increase internal storage/system cache in gingerbread hd2 ?
how to make memory card be used as internal phone memory ?
is their any other way other then using DAF to flash new partitions ?

Hi,
I read in a thread that devs are trying to support data on a ext4 partition on sd. What will be the benefits compared to a mounted data.img file that is on a fat32 formatted sd card?
I'm also interested
The issues that the mounted Data.img are "Fast Data Corruption" "Slight Lag when installing applications", i guess comparing it to the Data partition on the SD is more secure, there will be no lag since it will be a ext format..
Please correct me if i'm wrong
I hope, data.img roms and no-ram sd builds has the same performance.
Think the best solution for now is simple nand rom and only the necesary apps.
I knw this thread wil cm soon..
Ya I also had this question..
I think partition thing is secure as that seperates other data with linux data..
I was about to create a new thread but my question is similar :
What is the difference between Froyo's Apps2SD and an Ext partition ? What is the "best" choice? While Apps2SD is compatible with almost every Nand, I think ext needs to be allowed first. And for the moment not that many Nand do. I don't want to create an ext to have to delete it the next day if there is no real advantages.
Thanks !
Data.img is representing the internal memory of your phone on SD Card builds.
If you are running NAND ROMs, the internal memory might be not too much (especially for EU models) as it is 512Mb - size of OS.
By having an ext4 partition (on SD) recognized as internal memory, you can decide on the size of you internal memory.
Latest A2SD+ ROMs offer this.
A lot of Android Users suffered in the past low internal memory (the market has even an own category for it when you delete apps

but when butting data .image on sd card , what is th role of nand in this , or what nand is used for
A data.img stored on a fat32 partition will have far less resilience to corruption and slower performance than if you were to store the data in an ext4 partition which supports journaling, significantly reducing the risk of corrupiton.
hi
i have installed NexusHD2 froyo nand rom, but i am running out of storage, so i can't install more apps. How can i install the rom with more internal storage. ?
Well you can install App2SD from the market and move some of the apps/data to your SD card.
Alternativley you may be able to mod your rom in some way to use App2SD+ which means that apps/data is automatically moved to a partition on your SD card.
Or if you can enable Data2SD you can use the same partition as a extension to you internal memory which is much better.
but i have tried to move nearly all apps to the sd card but still i only have 30 mb left

hi,
i use boypps rom... and titanuim backup says i got 250 MB internal memory and 1 GB data2sd memory...
but when i install apps internal memory and data2sd memory gets lower ?!?!
can someone explain how that works and why ??
or does that rom use my ext4 partition ? i dont know ?!?!
it moves the data to the sd card so the 1g will decrease the more you install, the 1gb ext4 is the data partition
yes but when i install a app ... both decreases !! internal mem and data2sd memory ??
why is that ??
i got the same problem!!!
reboot to take effect, the base of the app will stay on phone to make it run properly.
hey everyone
I have a little problem here. I am using a nand rom named hyperdroid gbx v3 and initially I had 270 MB of internal storage during the first startup .
I have moved majority of my apps to sd excluding a few apps that require phone memory.
Now my internal storage is full even after deleting the unnecessary stuff.
»»» I dont want to loose all my apps and settings .
Please can anyone help me with this ?
Is there any solution to increase internal memory in a NAND rom ??
Thank s in advance !

That rom has a2sd+ meaning if you set up an ext partition on your SD card, the rom will automatically put apps there, and treat it as internal storage (though the system will not show it on the available storage screen)
When you have manually chosen to move an app to SD, you are actually moving it to the fat32 partition.
So, set up the ext partition (can do it through cwm, backup your fat32 first, the SD will be wiped) then copy back all the fat32 stuff to the fresh sd, boot, and move all your manually moved apps back to the internal memory and they should be moved to the ext.
(Though if it were me I'd set up the ext, and reflash the rom,, start over.
Also, when you instal an app, 10 Meg, say, your reported internal memory will drop 10mb, but will go back up when you next reboot.
As for keeping your data and such, if you do a backup in cwm first(which is saved to SD, make sure you copy it to PC before you start formatting the SD card) then after you flash the rom again you can use cwm selective restore to restore just the data partition.(but see if it works without a fresh flash first )
That helped me..
hi all ... i have a problem with the ud 3.3 nand ... i formated my sd card with CMW (1024) and but still have 150 mb internal memory ? i try it with rafdroid nand and it was ok ... i didnt install a2sd i think its already installed on the rom ...

Hi,
I 'm not entirely sure of what you are trying to say,but if you are confused by the different amounts of memory you have, get Titanium Backup.
When you open this app,it will list the four different amounts of memory:
System ROM
Internal
SD card
SDcard (a2sd) ext
When using an ext partition, it's size doesn't show as part of the internal memory, but it's there.
but what is the difference between saving program on (sd card) or (sd card (as2d)) ... in rafdroid nand the internal memory grow up to 1150 mo ...

Hi,
DEVS setup their ROMS differently(squashed,unsquashed,odex,de-odex,etc.)
Each has different system sizes.
This will give different amounts of remaining memory.
Again, you can use Titanium Backup to move some apps from internal memory to ext on sd card.
