I have both the Nexus S and a Vibrant. I must say that the Nexus S super amoled display looks better then the Vibrant super amoled display and, it's not the brightness. I turned the Nexus S screen to the lowest setting and, I turned the Vibrant to the highest setting as a result the Nexus S screen looks alot better. What's you all thoughts on this?...please don't say that the vibrant is a defective product because, this will be my 4'th Vibrant do to this...thanks.

Well the nexus s is newer. So. Some changes could have been done. But just enjoy your phones and don't let something like thT bug you.

There's also a lot of variation from phone to phone even within a product line. It could be you got a crappy Vibrant and great Nexus. Or it could be the Nexus uses better, newer screens. I've not read of such though.
I think that a newer display should come with a change log...lol but, trust me the Nexus S display is indeed a different better screen. I thought that a LCD was a LCD Super Amoled was a Super Amoled, just a different resolution and, size. It would be nice to let a customer know what they are buying. Thanks guys.

Who ever can get a phone with similar specs to the Note first in he US will likely get my business. Doesn't seem like its gonna be Samsung...

I had a Galaxy S2 i777 for two weeks and the leap to dual core is a HUGE improvement. I returned it within the try it period though because I couldn't get used to a "tiny" 4.3 inch screen.
Or this one:
http://www.engadget.com/2011/05/24/pantech-vega-no-5-bringing-sexy-back-to-tabletphones-packs-1-5g/
Less resolution than the Note, but with all that speed imagine how fast it would draw! I actually have no complaints about the display on the Streak. How much resolution do you really need? Lol, its not like I'm looking at the screen with a microscope!

hmmm...I don't see how this one would be that much faster than the GNOTE
Its a 1.5 dual-core, which is just a tad faster, but the resolution is about 75% that of the Note (same as the streak), so it can draw the screen images much faster.
The main thing that can slow the Note down is the crazy high resolution.
After a point it seems like the high resolution thing could be almost a gimmick, like high megapixels on a digital camera when you are only printing 4x6 inch photos. 1 megapixel looks the same as 20 unless you blow it up to the size of a billboard! The point is, you can't blow up the screen on your phone any bigger. I can't seem to see a single pixel on my streak with the naked eye as it is...

I had a nexus s, galaxy nexus and went to a Z10. I'm kinda missing my Android experience and apps. I originally wanted the nexus 4 nut got this and now thinking of trading. Is everyone pleased with their nexus 4?
First Android phone, definitely pleased!
//nexusâ´
Make the trade bud.. Ive come from a galaxy s 4g, then an s2, then an s3... I couldn't be happier with my decision to buy this phone.

I had the S3 for a week and hated it compared to my gnex.
Onky problem is I have about $150 in z10 cases lol
Definitely trade. Lots of ROMs to try out for this awesome phone.
Definitely better than Z10... using pure android is really a different experience after seeing Touchwiz or Sense
I heard it had bad panorama camera, is that true ?

Well if that is the deciding factor for you then you may need help , but no the panorama camera is just as good as any other and 4.2 has photosphere which is bada**
Nexus 4 is my 3. Android phone, and by far the best. Forget the cartoon like touchwiz or bloat filled sense. Pure 4.2 is IMO Much better.
In Denmark N4 cost the same as gs3 but I still think it's better value.

no, its not a deciding factor, Iam just putting out the cons, as YOU are NOT
This is my 5th android phone. Can't go wrong with the nexus line. I love this phone like a fat kid loves cake.
Although I'm currently awaiting a replacement phone as the touch screen went dead on mine... I suspect static buildup then an arc from my leg to the screen... So I might suggest setting the phone down when you know you will be around static buildup, as I now will.

The screen is amazing once you calibrate it. It's easily as good as the HOX and iPhone 5 and probably as good as the Z10 (even with the lower PPI). Overall this phone is brilliant taking everything into account, couldn't have asked for more.

Z10 has more PPI , smaller screen , Cost a lot more

I really like it now I'm used to it. The only problem is it keeps sliding off everything that's not perfectly straight
Is it basically a gakaxy nexus experience?
Get it. Root and tweak till your hearts content....This phone is ROM heaven and blindingly fast. Best phone iv had.
Its the best around...but don't wait to much longer to get it!
I am thinking of getting a 32gb nexus 7 tomorrow .
My question is are the pixels noticeable ?
I know on my Acer a100 they are very noticeable & annoying.
Also what decently priced case like the ottorbox will you recommend ?
I would like to say, I searched about the pixles and did not find anything .

the nexus 7 screen is a LOT better, the ppi goes from the 169 on the a100 to 213 on the n7. of course it is not a retina display and you can see pixels if you look hard, but it is a significant improvement over the a100. in fact, in normal day to day usage im not able to see the pixels at at all other than fully zoomed out in the browser. hope this helps.
Of you look you can see the pixels, but then again I can see the pixels on the iPad and iPhone and my gnex however on my gnex its harder. I cant tell at all on my nexus 4 But somewhere around 350ppi or so it becomes impossible to tell a difference

The DPI on the N7 is one of the highest around. They are not noticeable without your face pushed up to the glass and even then it would be hard.
TVs have super low DPI (60?). PC monitors are better... But nothing like newer gen mobile devices. Screen tech up to date and superb. Nothing to worry about.

sure, but remember: tv's have low pixel density, because it was seen from afar. in contrast, the mobile devices are designed to be used almost right up your face, and therefore you need to have a very high dpi screen just to keep jaggedness away. pc monitors are somewhere in the middle so they have good but not great ppis. when you compare ppi's, you cannot directly compare a tv screen with a smartphone/tablet screen, as they are designed and used in very different ways. so keep the comparison apples to apples (no pun intended . and n7 has a much better resolution than the a100 the op currently has, it will be a very noticeable improvement.

When you consider that the Nexus 4 has nearly the same screen resolution as the Nexus 7 but on a smaller screen size (1280x720 vs 1280x800) it's going to b quite a bit crisper.
People usually don't notice til they see something better.
Well I can notice on almost everything lol.
Because I do allot of gaming on my phone & tabs.
So that is a huge deciding factor .

1280x800 @ 7" is rather crisp, and most certainly noticeable over most other tablets (Galaxy Tab 2 7.0" for example is only 1024x600 on nearly the same size screen).
The Nexus 10" is 300dpi with a screen resolution of 2560 x 1600. (versus the 216dpi @ 1280x800), so visually the 10 is much nicer, just not as powerful a processor (But more ram, I think it was intended for those drooling over eyecandy).
Moral of the story, quit worrying about the DPI on the N7. It is one of the highest DPI screens of any 7" (or mobile). You sure aren't going to be able to see pixels doing anything other then staring at non-moving black on white text, 1" from your eye. More importantly, you still cannot make out the pixels as they are so small that they blur together.
Anything that moves or has motion, won't be visible unless they are meant to be visible.
Hello! I know that its common knowledge that the nexus devices don't have the best looking screens, and that flashing a custom kernel can fix these issues for the most part, BUT even still, my screen just doesn't look as good as say my friends iPod Touch or another ones S4. I've tried GalaxyS4 colors (preset in FKU) and I'm using obsanity for now, but its still just not very good. Any tips?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
You can try bundi22 iphone 5 color or Pa halfbreed.
It'll never equal an Apple device, those simply have the best screens in the market. As for the S4,it uses a completely different display technology. The Nexus 4 uses an LCD screen while the S4 uses AMOLED. And there is only so much you can change with kernel settings.
Sent from my Nexus 4, want to know my current project? Check http://team-fun.eu
The Samsung Galaxies have notoriously inaccurate colours, they are really over saturated to make the screen look more vivid. N4's colours are actually pretty accurate, for a cell phone, when I measured them with a calibration tool.
People are just used to unrealistic, over saturated, crap I guess. iPhone 5 is pretty damn nice however: good gamut and balance. But, the Samsung amoled is just cheesy crap.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
Try flashing a kernel that allows you to change color profiles or your gamma settings. Then you can play with it and see which profiles you like and adjust them however you want

I am very much into the idea of the n6 but what immediately struck me was how much brighter the Samsung screen was. N6 reminded me of the g3. Not bad just a little washed out? Perhaps it's just the way brightness was set on n6?

That isn't the final retail model. You can tell by the large dimple on the back from the Moto X (2014) as opposed to the smaller dimple that it has a la Moto X (2013).
Review
Thanks for the link to the video!
After watching it I am still undecided on which of the 2 I will be buying. I guess I'll wait until full reviews of the Nexus 6 become available on youtube.
Recently bought an LG G3 but the Note 3 is still my favorite phone. Having SlimROM installed its mega fast and I love the bigger screen size.
Also want to see what custom ROMs will show up for the both of them

That's not the final retail model and thus this "review" should be taken with a grain of salt. Plus we don't know what brightness settings he's using on either phone.
And he said the Nexus 6 has a lcd display.....
Ugh EVERYTHING has a white background on L? The app drawer, settings menu etc. Counterintuitive to amoled, and ugly! Hopefully they give the option for a dark theme
I don't think that's the final device.
