I don't want to update cause i am on a custome rom is there anyway of disabling the notifiaction?

Is the notification for a update to the rom your running or system update? If rom updated them turn the notification feature off in rom manager settings. If system update then update rom or just build prop to current rom and this will get rid of the system update

I bought my N7 today and the download started for the 4.2.2 update. I denied that and rooted and installed a 4.2.1 rom (clean rom) while I get used to things. Anyway, the update keeps popping up in my status bar that the download is done and I need to update. How can I delete the update and stop the notifications??? Thank you for any help.

So I've had the minor 4.3 update (The 1.8MB one) lingering on my phone for a while and I'm dying to get rid of the notification. I flashed the hybrid LTE radio and just don't see any need to bother going through the trouble of updating so I've left it in the notifications bar.
Can someone point me in the right direction? I read something about freezing SDM but I can't find it in Titanium Backup. I also know you can disable Google Services Framework notifications but I don't want to miss other important Google notifications and I'm not sure what else Google Services Framework pushes.
Any help is very much appreciated.
The update is a security update so it would be wise to update

Ok fair enough, is there any simpler method than having to go back to stock? I flashed the hybrid radio and have Xposed installed.
This might work
* Flash xposed disabler (not sure if this is needed)
* Flash stock recovery.
* Install update.
* Flash your preferred custom recovery.
* Flash superuser/supersu and install xposed

This has worked for me in the past on stock 4.2.x, but your mileage might vary on 4.3:
Let the device download the update, but do not install it. Reboot into recovery, wipe cache, then reboot. The update notification system will now be broken and shouldn't alert you to any new updates.
I'm on slimkat 4.4.2, I know there's an update to slimkat, from build 4 to build 5... But I'm getting an official KitKat system update notification, as if I was on pure AOSP. I've never had this happen on a custom ROM... Is there any good ways to kill the notification?
Do you mean that you get the slim update notification?

I do, but that's no biggie, I can disable that. I'm getting the Android system update notification... The one you'd get on the stock ROM.
my nexus 4 recived a 4.4.3 update from cyanogen mod (i installed with the installer) and the update failed a few times because my internet connection was compromised temporarily but now the update is unavailable. Im a noob at this what can i do? i dont want to lose an updat this way!
everytime i check system updates they say my system is up to date at 4.4.2 but there was an update! i dont understant why its unavailable
I am sure there is a way to side load the update through a custom recovery, no?

That update is not from CM, that's the stock rom. The latest update is milestone 7 and it's still based on 4.4.2 for the time being. HTH

Wouldning sideloading cause a factory reset? i was just wondering about a proper update
Hi guys, I downgraded my note 4 to kit kat yesterday, because on this version of os note 4 used to work almost perfect. The main problem is that an update to lolipop has been downloaded automaticly and the notification which ask me to update cellphone appeared on the notification bar. Is IT possible to hide this notification? I do not have a root. Do i have a possibility to delete os update files from memory?
I am in exactly the same situation. I am happy with 4.4.4 and i will wait for 5.1 update. How do i get rid of the notificarion? It managed to trick me and download the update.

If you go into Settings -> About Device -> Software Updates there are check boxes there that you can uncheck to disable the firmware update notification. However I don't understand why you would want to do that as you will make your Note 4 more susceptible to hackers.
Well, a lot of people have experienced that Lollipop is a lot worse than KitKat. Therefore, some (like me) want to keep using KitKat until Samsung comes with a better upgrade. Frankly, I find the OTA functionality annoying in the EXTREME. So if anyone can help shutting it up (until we want to upgrade) without root, it would be much appreciated!!!
Well, if that's what you want just follow the instructions that I posed earlier that will disable the Auto OTA update and Firmware Update Notification.
The box is unchecked but my phone already downloaded the update and it keeps nagging me about installing it. Even if i said i'll install later, every few hours it pops on my screen or find it there when i unlock it.

In that case you will need to find where the update file is and delete it from you Note 4's internal memory.
^Which is not possible without root.
Can any of you tell me where exactly i can find those update files ? I have already done a root, but i dont see them i system files.
