Need help Darky 9.2 and Total Screen Control - Galaxy S I9000 General

Hi together,
found a really great app called Total Screen Control, that manges Screen Filter usage. For example you can configure which apps will dim and which not and many more. works really well, but on my phone the settings will not be safed.
Would you please try it out, check some boxes, or configure an app and reboot? I got in contact with the developer, but he canĀ“t replicate this. Would like to know if it is a known problem for Darky ROM only, or just my phone itself.
Thanks a lot!

If you search Darky's thread some people have had this issue before (other apps) and the fix is posted there too. You should really read this post too!

Thanks!
I think I got it. I deleted the app. Cleared up dbdata folder for this app. Cleared cache and dalvic cache from recovery. rebooted and installed pro version. Finally settings I made were written into the XML files at dbdata and survived the reboot.
I really happy now. This is one of my favorite apps now.

Facebook Album Stopped Working

I just noticed today that all my Facebook albums have stopped working. I just get a circle with a diagonal line through it instead of a thumbnail. I have tried logging out using data.services and I have soft reset a few times. don't really want to hard reset yet. it was defiantly working when I first got my HD2.
Anyone had this problem?

Never worked for me either on 1.43 nor 1.48 ROMs.
same problem here!
but worked for me the first few days i had my hd2 (with stockrom 1.43 GER)!
I had the same problem. I found out, that it was caused by a tweak i installed. It was theTouch X LEO turbo.cab when I uninstalled it. the Facebook albums worked again.
Ah, wish I read that early, i just did a hard reset to make it work again lol.
Although saying that, I think alot of the "tweaks" had a negative effect on the phone, now I have my programs re-installed but non of the tweaks, it feels much faster!
I haven't installed that cab so I can't explain why mine has stopped working!
I have found that using the performance Cache tweaks on BSB Tweaks causes this same issue. Of course turning the sliders off and doing a soft reset fixed the problem for me.
Seriously, I recommend just hard reseting and not bothering with half of the tweaks, its seems that most of them have caused bugs and caused the device to slow down for me.
Now its hard reseted, its fast and perfect again.
o wow you guys are right... my facebook album wasn't working.. i uninstalled the LEO turbo cab and all is well again! cheesr
The specific tweak that causes this problem is setting file cache to high. Avoid this and you are golden.

Not to question your statement but I don't quite see a relation between the two.

Not really sure why! I guess it may have something to do with the native size of the images sense is trying to load into memory? Why having a higher file cache would be worse in this scenario I don't know.
Edit: Just noticed that Makeveral has removed the file cache tweak from his latest release of BSB tweaks 1.3
Sweet, turned off performance tweeks and now ok. Cheers
Hi fellow HD2 users.
Sorry kinda OT: Anyone have problems with uploading photos with Microsoft Facebook? My is random, doesn't always work and annoying!!! It uploaded my data, but nothing shows up in my Facebook (Mobile Upload folder)! Waste of my data too!!!
i recently installed Bsb tweaks and found the same thing too, that facebook album stoped working.
Jackuuuuu, I wouldnt bother with the MS app for uploading photos as the HTC album seems to do a fine job, although it would be nice if you could comment on pics from there.

Yes, I have the same problem. Also want to organize icons in seperate windows but sometimes they move.
Same problem on JPA and JPO (not sure if I had this on JM1)
EDIT: It seems to also happen when I install new applications, don't even have to reboot to see the problem.

no, all installed apps get mixied up...
Hi,
having the exact same problem as described. Tried different versions of Darky's ROM, currently running on 9.3. Extreme. But also experienced on 9.2. Can't remember if it occured on preinstalled Samsung Froyo.
Isn't there really any solution to this ? It's really annoying not to have an option to sort your icons when they keeps messing up after reboot.
What ROMs are you having, guys ?

Looks like lots of things can move your icons update of apps can shift stuff around .
But if you are not updating> factory resetting etc then the apps should stay where they are on a stock rom after a reboot .

Solution
Guys, this issue has a relatively simple solution, the problem is with your touchwiz not saving correctly setting, do the following:
Go to Settings > Applications > All
In here, go find TwLauncher and click it, DON'T click force stop now just click the "clear data" button.
After this, your icons will mess around again, ordered alphabetically, just restart phone.
That should do it, next time you organize your apps they should stay where you left them.
I hope it help you guys, cheers!
EDIT:
If the above wasn't enough (in most cases it should), you can try to get Root Explorer and go to:
/dbdata/databases/
find the com.sec.android.app.twlauncher folder and delete it.
This is harmless, but it will again order alphabetically your apps, this folder will be restored again on next boot, so restart phone after.

Clearing the data worked for me! Thank you very much!
Didn't try deleting com.sec.android.app.twlauncher but instead clearing works. More feedback pls
I had the problem, changed ROM and solved.

now, this IS weird (me again. apologies)

hello again guys
i'm having this problem which is so frustrating...
i was on revolution hd (froyo) and i had a problem with the market app. whenever i clicked on new releases app list, i got an error about "com.android.vending" and the app would restart. i thought "oh well, i'll install a gingerbread rom" and so i did.
i wanted to try the LeeDrOiD rom so i followed all the steps needed to do so. went into market again and the same problem came up. did it again. cleaned dalvik cache, did a factory reset, wiped caches, and always after each step i flashed the rom again. the problem was there again. in spare parts app, whenever i clicked on battery history, i got an error (again) only this time for a different process (logical)
so, i thought i should try the revolution gingerbread rom (since i was so happy using the previous version)
after finishing the rom flash, i went into market and the problem is there again.
the process is named "com.android.vending" and it crashes whenever i try to swipe the new releases list.
the other app error i get is when clicking on battery history in spare parts. i get the "com.androidapps.spare_parts" process termination error.
(gosh!!!!!!) i even installed a second app called BatteryHistory and whenever i click on in i get an error again. this time it's com.blogspot.aidizen.batteryHistory"
i really don't know what to do. is there a problem with the device itself ??(hardware-wise)
any help would be really appreciated
thank you guys. i feel really bad cause these might seem minor problems to you experts. i know am a newbie and i hate it spending your time with all these
Cheers !!!
First, the battery history crash in spare parts is normal because the battery history function appears to be nonexistent in Gingerbread.
For the market crash I would propose the following solution:
1.) Full Wipe in Recovery and install a fresh ROM.
2.) Set up a clean Google account.
4.) Use this Google account for the market, for the time being don't restore any backups or anything.
5.) If it worked, try eliminating these steps one by one to find the source of the problem
Well, I did it all again from the start. I used full wipe 1.3, did a factory reset, wiped data, installed the Rom again (did a new download of it) and the problem is still here.
Market crashes whenever I touch an app in the new released app list.
It seems really strange. I'm thinking there might be a hardware problem since I changed 3 different roms.
Does anyone have anymore suggestions? I would REALLY appreciate it.
Thanks a lot guys
Flash an RUU. If the problem persists it may be a hardware issue, although in my opinion it seems unlikely, if it doesn't it's a software issue.
Personally I would rather you did the wiping by hand as then at least you'd have an indication if it fails for any reason.
this is much weirder now....
i seem to have solved the problem. i did a "market cache clean" from within settings -> applications -> all -> market -> "wipe everything".
it works but the funny part is that the interface of the market app has changed. on the top of the app, instead of 2 "listing" choices (top free + new apps) i got a 3rd choice of "top paid"
oh well, the good thing is that am back to normal.
thank you guys for your time
Cheers !!!

That's normal, at least in UK, have google perchance updgraded market in Greece? I Know they announced enhancements and increased pay markets at the O/I.
they changed the market in Greece so that you can purchase apps. obviously, the app was upgraded to support this but something went wrong with the previous version cahce (idk, i guess that's what happened)
i can't tell you if the pay markets are increased cause we didn't have anything showing. when i came to london, in march, i could buy apps since the market interface changed to support the purcase.
oh well, the good thing is that the problem is fixed.
Cheers !!!

Phone keypad auto close.

Hi guys,
I used several roms lately Juwe and jingereal JVQ.
In all roms I used the phone dialer application self exit to launcher when I push 4 or 5 numbers.
Anyone experience such weird behavior?
Any help?
Thank you
Andrea
i've had a similar issue with the keypad as well and a few times when I have opened clicked the call log tab; both would just close and bring me back to desktop/homescreen...not sure why either. I've also had a few dropped calls (tried both KC1 and KG3 modems)
edit: other than root, I'm on stock JVQ with KC1/KG3 modem
i'm beginning to wonder if this has to do with the launcher i'm using as I've only recently started to use GoLauncher (used to use LauncherPro)
update: nope...doesn't seem to have to do with the launcher
This is happening to me now on JVS (found this with search). Phone just closes, no force close dialog it just kicks back to home screen.
I think I solved it!
Used Titanium Backup (f*** is there anything that program can't do? cleaning dalvik cache with it also fixes android OS drain!) to wipe data from Phone app (after backing it up first just in case).
Tested it out about 10 times opening it, switching tabs, dialing numbers..before it would've quit 8 of 10 times but now not a problem.

cleaning dalvik eh?...i'll try that later.
Yes I forgot who put me on to that but it has worked all 3 times that I have tried it after a flash to kill android os drain, twice on 2.3.3 and lastly on 2.3.5. Do it and then restart.

I must give u a big Thanks!
This is a very annoying problem and it seems to be quite random that I originally did not think that I can find the solution when I searched this issue in google.
Thank you and this solved my issue!
*EDIT*
I just found that I have this issue in my Whatsapp as well. When I browse the contact list in Whatsapp, when i scroll down the list to about 1/3 what's app will close automatically...... Should I erase the data of Whatsapp as well?

Yep tap on Phone in the app list in Titanium and hit 'wipe data'.
For me, the problem disappears if I simply reboot phone.

FC when trying to activate Power Saving mode

Ive a problem when trying to activate the Power Saving mode in settings.
when i press it i always get a Force Close on the Settings app. i can press the quick settings button in the notification area, but that does not seem to activate anything.
anyone has any idea? should i try to clear data on the settings app? or will i lose all of my settings?
thx
Anyone any idea?
I noticed that it works now when I use the quick settings tile in the notification pull down. Don't know if that's because I rooted and Uninstalled a bunch of samsung apps.
Anyways it's now also visible as activated in settings, but clicking in settings results in an fc still.
Another thing I noticed is that gsam battery monitor does lose battery stats from time to time, maybe that's because of the same problem.

Please be absolutely sure about what systems apps do you want to remove, specially if they are Samsung packages. I'm cannot be sure but it looks like that is what's causing the issue.

If that is the case, try clearing cache from the Recovery and see if that works. If not, you can always try flashing the latest firmware!
Ok i will try tomorrow. But one question : where can I find the last firmware. I am pretty new to a Samsung device.
Thank you for your help
Edit:
I tried to clear cache and art cache. nothing has changed.
