I get this right before I try and wipe Dalvick. I am running Iced Glacier. I noticed this problem after I was trying to flash the 1.8 overclock kernal from Faux (I believe).
I know whenever I would get this error with my old Vibrant I'd have to unroot and go back to stock and it would fix the error.
Please any help would be great. I've searched all over and I even reflashed a few roms and I still have this error. I'm convinced its a file in the bootloader that has either been corrupted or removed.

Fail, I pressed the Thanks button instead of quick reply.
Anyway, I get that error too, I always just disregard it unless it doesn't say "Dalvik Cache wiped" in the end.
I finally just went back to stock. Thanks for the response. I might root in a few and see what happens. Thanks.

I permrooted, and flashed cwm3.0.0.5 and flashed cm 7 build 23 on my glacier. It didn't work and would not boot post the animation, the animation kept looping. So I flashed the stock system since it would not restore my backups and did a factory reset. Now I have no recovery. I rerooted up to the s-on part (can't find the root file for s-off) installed rom manager and that says I successfully flashed a new recovery. I tried this with earlier versions of clockwork and each time I'm greeted with a black screen, and red triangle/exclamation point. How do I get my recovery back?

It isn't possible to install clockwork recovery unless you are s=off, so you will need to do that before you can get cw to install.

You can search for anyone of the "how to root" threads in the development section.
But to answer your question.... here is the link.

Ok, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but cm7 will not boot. The boot animation keeps looping. I let it run for about 10 min before trying again and same thing. Anyone else have this problem? Anyone help?

details? what recovery are you using, what version of CM7, what(if any) error messages are received in recovery upon attempting to flash?

Cm7 build 25 as of today, but I have tried since build 23. I have the latest cwm from rom manager, but I have also tried with cwm 3.0.0.5. No error messages.

try with build 26 (newly released), use CWM 3.0.0.5, and make sure to wipe data, cache and dalvik cache. Let me know if that works, or what happens.

It was the dalvik cache I was forgetting to clear it. Using cm7 I noticed that my screen was not as responsive. Anyone else with this problem.

I am running a stable CM7;every time I install a new rom I get the error message "The Process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly". This keeps on going and eventually causes some sort of boot loop, I just go back into recovery and restore to my CM7. I've done a great deal of research, and still can't find the solution to my problem. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I've already tried doing that, it would work up until I rebooted the phone; then I'd get the same problem.
What roms have you tried?
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA Premium App
Miui, synergy, virtuous unity. Got the same problem for all.

I have the good one I believe (SEM04G 2.17GiB)
That's the good one...hmm..go in to mounts and storage and wipe everything (except sdcard)

That worked, but after restoring with Titanium I got the same message; this time it didn't shut down though. Could it be a bad back up?

I've run across this issue a few times myself. If you Google it, the process is an issue with syncing a contact. The easy way to fix is wipe your contacts using titanium. Otherwise, if you've restored your contacts, search through them for a contact with information but without a name.

Whenever i restored with titanium this happened. Turns out that if you restore your "system" that it will mess up. so only restore apps when flashing different roms
My wife's with original ROM and not unlocked and not rooted is having the same problem.
I will look through the contacts, but that is VERY difficult, as it stops unexpectedly soon after showing Contacts.
It seems to be something with her contact list from Google that gets onto her phone that causes Contacts to crash. Any ideas what I need to look for, or some utility to clean her contacts?
Need tons of help! I've been searching the forums for almost 24 hours now trying everything and still can't get it fixed. I rooted and got s-off on my wife's MyTouch 4g. I installed ROM Manager and flashed the latest CWMR 5.0.2.0. I did a full Nandroid backup. Then I tried flashing a Gingerbread ROM over the Froyo rom. It went to white MyTouch screen and never left it. I finally gave up and went back to recovery. When I try to restore using Nandroid, I get this:
Error while formatting /system!
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recover/last_log
I can get into HBOOT, Fastboot and Recovery just fine.
I tried the RUU exe floating around and it always fails trying to reboot bootloader.
I tried letting it autoupdate the stock PD15IMG.zip floating around it always fails.
I've tried flashing different recoveries including older CWMRs and always get error about remote not enabled.
I'm at my wit's end. I'm leaving town tomorrow and need to at least get back to the nandroid backup before I leave. Any advice?
Wrong section dude ! Read the forum rules .

I put PD15IMG.zip on the sdcard. HBOOT checks the file and prompts me to update. When I choose yes, each option shows Fail-PU.
Is there something I'm missing here? Any help is appreciated. Sorry if it's in the wrong section. Can someone move the thread? Thank you.

I had the same problem, bad chip, just keep the ROM you are currently running, if you try to flash some thing you will have a semi brick.I couldn't never solve that problem.

not necessarily.. i recovered one of my MT4G's thats had this issue... Engineering bootloader is what saved my ass...OP, Did you flash the Eng bootloader when rooting your device??
That's the problem. I wasn't able to successfully flash a ROM so it's useless.

I rooted using a 1-click method I found here. I don't have the link in front of me. How can I check which one I have?

=/ I believe you should've flashed engineering bootloader before wiping your current ROM. Is your phone under warranty?
Hi Guys i was trying to install a rom but i got an error like this one on the wipe data factory it says Skipping format of /sd-ext.
and when i go to the restore part to flash a nandroid to restore my phone it says something like this after restoring cache i get this
sd-ext.img not found. Skipping restore of /sd-ext.
What can i do guys?? my phone its not working at all, i just got this yesterday =S
please help!!
What did you do exactly?
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
Umm, unless you have an A2SD partition on your SD card, recovery won't see it and therefore there is nothing to wipe.
Most problems can be fixed by flashing the PD15IMG.ZIP found in the downgrade tutorial, but that may not be necessary.
More details will help us to help you.

ok the last rom i used was InsomMIUI but i wanted to flash another rom, when i get to the CWM i was doing everything normal you know, wipe data/factory reset,
wipe cache partition, wipe dalvik cache, fix permissions, when i do the wipe data/factory reste i get this--> Skipping format of /sd-ext
and when im trying to do a restore with a nandroid i get the same thing
so i went to the mounts and storage and if im not wrong it have to be UMMU but the mount /sd-ext part doesnt let me change it to unmount i dont know if that's the problem cause the error that im getting its related to the /sd-ext
This is normal and expected. Ignore this. It's not an error.
Dude this is normal... Mine says this all the time.

Hey guys as u can probably see by the title im a newbie, but i have a problem that i dont know how to solve and i need yalls help. I am running the new zips creamed glacier ics rom on my mytouch 4g. I am getting these random soft reboots and i dont know why these are happening. I have reflashed my rom about three times, wiped and did all the procedures correctly, but i still continue to get this problem.
Also this problem did not occur to me when i was running the miui rom for my phone. It started to occur when i first installed Febv's creamed glacier rom and continued to occur in the new Zips creamed glacier rom.
If there is anyone that can help me, i would really appreciate it. Thank Yall So Much.
Did you make a full wipe before you flash any roms? Try to fix the permissions via clockworkmod or anything which fixes your permission on the internal storage. The actual reason was the permission problem which lead to crashes and a restart which occurs suddenly.
