I am running a stable CM7;every time I install a new rom I get the error message "The Process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly". This keeps on going and eventually causes some sort of boot loop, I just go back into recovery and restore to my CM7. I've done a great deal of research, and still can't find the solution to my problem. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I've already tried doing that, it would work up until I rebooted the phone; then I'd get the same problem.
What roms have you tried?

Miui, synergy, virtuous unity. Got the same problem for all.

Do you have the good or bad emmc chip?
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA Premium App
I have the good one I believe (SEM04G 2.17GiB)
That's the good one...hmm..go in to mounts and storage and wipe everything (except sdcard)

That worked, but after restoring with Titanium I got the same message; this time it didn't shut down though. Could it be a bad back up?

I've run across this issue a few times myself. If you Google it, the process is an issue with syncing a contact. The easy way to fix is wipe your contacts using titanium. Otherwise, if you've restored your contacts, search through them for a contact with information but without a name.

Whenever i restored with titanium this happened. Turns out that if you restore your "system" that it will mess up. so only restore apps when flashing different roms
My wife's with original ROM and not unlocked and not rooted is having the same problem.
I will look through the contacts, but that is VERY difficult, as it stops unexpectedly soon after showing Contacts.
It seems to be something with her contact list from Google that gets onto her phone that causes Contacts to crash. Any ideas what I need to look for, or some utility to clean her contacts?

+1 on needing a fix.
My market has the exact same problem.
Just started yesterday when i went to jts clean rom.

Have either of you done a titanium backup?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
I had that problem yesterday I had to un-root the phone I can't post the URL but you can find the thread in the 2nd page of fascinate and devlopement forum
it was the only solution I found and it helped
Im Having the same problem. Happened after flashing JT's clean ROM.
It's from restoring apps with Titanium Backup. For whatever reason, whenever I do this, it breaks my market no matter what ROM and whether I have Voodoo or not. Restore to stock, re-root, and everything, and you need to restore every app manually.
I did not use Titanium Backup.
I posted a new thread about this, seemed to work for me and a few others I tried. Check "for anyone having market issues"
Been having the same problem. I used titanium to freeze then defrost Market. Then did the same thing to Market Updater. Market works perfect now, but it reverted from the Froyo version back to Eclair. But it's better than not working at all.
Promise this will work. Just go to titanium and click on Market and then click Wipe Data. Do the same with Market Updater. All will be fixed.

Thanks for the idea.
Got anymore? Did this, and the thread mentioned above and no change.
I will have to try reverting to eclair if i can't get this working. Argh

This is an old issue, with several things to try.
I would first suggest looking through your application list and uninstalling any 0.00 sized files left as ghosts of apps manually removed. There will possibly be other smallish sized files left behind as well if you can identify them.
Force stop and clear market cache
Boot into recovery, clear cache and reboot.

I tried everything you just said above exactly. It still has the same result: "Starting Download" indefinitely.
I also tried using Titanium Backup to wipe data for market and market updater, but that didn't work either. I'm pretty frustrated that I can't figure this out
Got a solution. I was having the same problem with my Evo. Go to applications, then go to installed on sd. Move everything over to the phone. Then go to all applications and clear cache/data/and force stop it. That did the trick. You can move everything back to sd card after it fixes the market issue and it shouldn't happen again.

Anyone else have an idea?

I also had this problem, I had to remove lagfix, restore older backup and start all over. It worked and all is well for me now. It sucks but it worked. I hope someone else can find a better solution. I even had jt reply and he said he didnt have that prob. Hopefully some will figure it out.

Uninstalling the froyo market and reverting back to the 2.1 market resolved this issue for me on 2 phones ... Mine and the wifee.
I had this issue, and I found out something peculiar. I was running JT's Super Clean rom with Market 2.2 and a Voodoo kernel, and the Factory Reset ran, but did not actually reset anything. After turning Voodoo off, I was able to Factory Reset, which fixed the Market issues.
Same thing here...
I was having this issue as well. Had to install JT Clean rom w/ wiping cache and data. Tried every suggestion in the book but none fixed it but wiping cache and data and installing JT Clean Rom.

Before I flashed my DZ with Pauls Custom ROM with Sense I could delete the stock apps using Titanium Backup and the exploit. Now when I attempt to do this it reboots and shows the android with a red exclamation mark and I have to remove the battery to reboot the phone and the app I tried deleting is still there. Am I doing something wrong or does flashing the ROM mean I can't delete the apps I don't want now?
Should still work fine regardless of ROM. Any specific app giving you greif? ....have you tried removing then re-installing Titanium?... worth a try.

i also experienced this. tried to delete the amazon mp3 app and it came back after restart.
what exactly do we have to delete where?
Tried to remove and reinstall titanium backup but made no difference. Happens with any of the pre-loaded apps. Think its because of the clockwork mod ?

The last two Roms I installed were Royal Mint and Royal MIUI and on both Roms I wasn't able to restore my free apps. Does anyone know why and or how to fix this?
Ps. I always wipe data, cache and, dalvik cache before installing a rom.

They should restore automatically. Why your phone isn't doing that i have no clue. The nice thing about Titanium Backup is it will also restore the data. So you will pick up exactly where you left off. Just make sure to skip the sign-in page and sing in via the settings options.
mine has never done it automatically. Always have had to use Titanium Backup.
are you sign in to your google account on first boot, that's the only way it will restore all apps. If not then it will not and you will have to restore apps.
^ yes always

Not necessarily first boot, after the settling period ( boot 1: wait 5 min, boot 2: wait 5 min and sign in) sign in and let the phone do it's thing, don't turn on wifi out anything, just sign on and let it be, always works when I use this method on royal ginger

the trick is to not open the market until they start restoring. to resync your apps, flash back to a nandroid for 24-72 hours. hope it helped.
edit: this includes gapps, whereyou go through the market and install them. i found it disrupted my installation.
Htc mail app constantly force closes every single time I open it.. Did clear data.. Re entered well details again.. everything fine... But wen taped on, tr he app again... its back to rapid force closeings... Any sugguestion how do I fix this annoying force close.. Im running leedroid 2.2.3

Did you just flash the ROM?
Did to full wipe and or factory reset?
Are you coming from another custom ROM?
Did you restore any system apps or data using titanium backup or my backup root etc? Edit: if so was the backup made from a different ROM?
Have you a recent cwm recovery nan-backup? Could boot into recovery and try "fix permission", sometimes helps with force closes, and sometimes will give you more issues than you had,....according to some.
Edit: Could also try clearing the app data/cache etc. You may lose your mail account setup though.

If you do a full wipe & flash the Rom again, I don't think you will have a problem.
What apps did you remove, how (root explorer, titanium, removed from zip prior to flashing ROM) etc?

Try wiping cache and dalvik n try it or try to reflash different kernel .or just the stock kernel 4 cm you may also of got a incomplete download. Did you maybe restore part of a old OS instead of just apps also?
Sent from my PC36100 using xda premium
This answer was given to me by "teh roxxorz." This has nothing to do with your rom or kernel, do this:
Back up everything into Titanium Backup
Boot into recovery
wipe cache, Dalvik, and pretty much everything
reflash your rom, kernel and gapps (or if you would like to check out some other roms and kernels just click on the link in my sig)
once you've set up your phone download Titanium Backup from the market
in titanium backup restore all your apps ONLY!!! (don't get apps w/ data - only get apps, and do not get system data)
after this your wifi should be working just fine
p.s. if you would like to find out more about aosp roms/kernels check the link in my sig ^_^
The strange part is I restored nothing at all. It was a fresh start I will see if that works.
