What games are you finding that are better on a Tablet than on a Phone?
I downloaded Dungeon Defenders. The game is optimized for Tegra Chips. You should give it a try. Awesome graphics.

How does Dungeon Defenders play without multi touch? I mean is it hard or can you manage?

Please be patient but I tried to find threads on downloading game angry birds but stuck. The problem is that I need very basic directions. It showed downloading but how am i supposed to access it. 2 arrows in upper left corner did i download it twice. Any help appreciated or will have to wait for my nephews to help. Read manual but this is my first wifi anything. Thanks

Nvidia has a new app for tegra. It's called tegra zone. The app has all the new games and apps made with tegra in view.

asphalt 5 if you on 1.3 is great

I just put dungeon defenders on this device and it is pretty cool. I am a total newbie to it but graphics r sweet. Seems to draw the power but looks amazing. Now I just got to learn this new game.
Thanks for the news of the tegra app. I would have never known. Very cool.

Bought it on my evo, should still like to know why I couldn't find it on the a7 though.

I was trying to reply to the person who couldn't figure out how to install Angry Birds.
But while I'm here...
I love: Fruit Ninja, Angry Birds, Paper Toss, Pinball Deluxe, Untangle Space Out, aTilt 3D Labyrinth, Ancient Frog, Slots Royale, Bubble Blast, Jewels... (yeah, I'm a chick)...etc.
I'm having a blast and spending way too much time playing games!

Perhaps you downloaded but the system is still waiting for your instruction to install (happens with some apps)...then you should ckick on settings button, check notifications...if it requires you to click on install, do it. I've customized my A7 a lot so it's hard to remember just how it is from stock. If these options don't work, maybe someone else can help you.

this is my attempt in collecting and posting games compatible with motorola atrix...
i know someone else is gonna improvise and post a better thread than mine....till then everyone who's been working with the atrix pls pour in your apk and sd card files. and pls mention if it is tested and compatible or whether u r posting it for someone else whom u want to test the file with...
guys lets help each other till someone else comes to our rescue....

dude i was told that many games are not actually available for qhd resolution....i.e. motorola atrix....thats why i started this....
is it available in the market....

Is this a paid app? If its a paid app, get ready for some bashing here. Its not allowed to distribute paid apps.
U could restrict to posting app/games names though, but not the actual apps.

I would say 90% I've tried have worked so far. Some have slight graphical problems like an image stopping a few pixels from the edge of the screen since the designers didn't have to worry about our screen size.
Oh and Samurai II works and is/looks completely amazing.

Apps for different resolutions will still work, just may be stretched or distorted.
PewPew on the market works in native res.

Modern combat 2 works but does have some graphic problems where bars which are supposed to span the screen at times don't fit the screen. Also the blood which indicates your health only covers 90% of the screen. But it shouldn't affect gameplay.

hey i was wondering if can do this....there are sites and forums that give us the apk and sd card data files for a specific phone....all those phones have 480x800 resolution....and there is a software called lcd density changer which changes the resolution of the phone....it either increases or decreases the resolution....
so if i download and install these files and lower the resolution of my phone will i be able to play normally....that is i bring down the resolution to the desired one and play....

Did it work?

i had the following games working
dead trigger
nova 2 hd
nova 3 hd
the dark knight rises
modern combat
9mm hd(its running fine but i m nt able to see the game properly,everything comes in pink and dark pink colour.have to try a diff cersion of this game)
dead space
temple run brave
and trying back stab 3d.
i hope an one cud get desrt winds ported to our phone.i guess its for snapdragon processors only

Desire HD Tegra Compatible Games [Chainfire3D Edition]

So i thought it would be a good idea to create a thread in order to allow Desire HD users to share their experiences with Chainfire3D and what apps do or don't work.
The plugin used is listed on the left of the game.
WORKING
[nvidia]Fruit Ninja THD - runs great
[nvidia]Hardwood Solitaire - a little laggy in menus, gameplay is fine
[nvidia]Riptide - a little laggy during gameplay, but playable. Character's graphic a little messed up.
[nvidia]Samuria II: Vengeance - perfect, apart from some menu glitches. Press home and return for temp fix
[none]Plants vs. Zombies HD - works perfect, but buttons very small because tablet optimized
[nvidia]Pinball HD for Tegra - works perfect
[nvidia]My First TRAINZ Set - works but very slow - unplayable.
[nvidia]Backbreaker - works but animations broken

Monster Madness
Any other games you have tried with Chainfire? I've been curious to know how Aftermath XHD plays on the Desire HD. Anyone tried that?

yeah i get that too. No big deal really.

Well,given the fact that,being underage,I have no credit card,I only tried Dungeon Defenders THD and it won't play.It instantly closes when I try to launch it.
Just to make sure,you are using the Nvidia plugin,aren't you Beaver?

Big bang racing doesn't work. Just starts up with a screen about device not meeting minimum hardware requirements, seems to be the only game so far that doesn't work.

Yeah using the Nvidia plugin. Maybe try it without the plugin? Or try playing around with the graphic settings in the Chainfire app.

I think, contrary to ethics and all that, the best thing to do is actually pirate a game, see if it works, then buy it if it works. Especially if it's not on this list.
If you buy a game (such as Doktaphex presumably did with Big Bang Racing) and find it doesn't work, you've essentially wasted money on a game that doesn't work.
I know some people will take this the wrong way, but I firmly believe it's the best way to do it.

Monster doesnt work, its really broken, everyones reported it broken.
ANd confirmed, bang bang racing doesnt work on the desire hd/inspire...sadly......
Did anyone get plants vs zombies hd to work??which driver does it require??it keeps crashing to the homescreen.

I tried that a week or so back. It worked without even using Chainfire. But its kind of useless because its optimized for tablets so all the buttons are so small.

Aftermath XHD works fine on the DHD... runs smoothly !

Well,I can confirm that Dungeon Defenders works,just not the Tegra edition.When you launch it first time with the Tegra plugin,it downloads the Tegra files,but it cannot start the game itself.If you download the game with the Tegra plugin,then switch the plugin off and run it,it will download the Qualcomm files and run ok.Just a little choppy at times but whatever!
It's quite good in fact.I just got addicted!

[Q] Best Game/App for Graphics Demo?

So my new SGS2 has ALL this graphical horsepower...is there anything that actually takes advantage of it? I haven't found any reviews of mobile games that really talk about graphics, so I thought I'd ask the xda users what you guys would suggest...

Grave Defense HD is pretty awesome on GS II

Reptide GP. Galaxy on Fire 2. Or that Samurai game. All these are Tegra 2 optimized games, so they look great.
Non tegra games... Modern Combat 2, Grave defence HD, Battlehart...
I also impres my friends with old games running on emulators, like Zelda, Super Smash Bros, Final Fantasy, etc

Although it seems ironic that the games which makes the best use of Mali-400 are "Tegra 2 optimized". If I didn't know better I'd think that the whole "tegra optimized" thing is just marketting bull****...

There is a pretty long post about the differences between tegra games and non-tegra games. Tegra "optimized" games are simply using nvidia texture compression method

Maybe I'm doing something wrong but when I go to the android market and try to install a tegra game in my sgs2, it says the mobile is incompatible and doesn't allow the installation process to go through.
Is there a way to circumvent this?

Download and buy Chainfire3d...the Pro version includes a Market Fix that allows you to install just about any game using one of the plugins (Nvidia/Qualcomm/PowerVR)

Where can I find those Tegra games? I looked in Android market but I don't see them... I also downloaded Tegra Zone but it says I don't have Tegra, which I don't, but it should be plenty fast enough, and I have Chainfire3D Pro installed...

u need to download and install the the nvidia plugin in chainfire 3d and then reeboot and select fix market.

Games that run on Galaxy Note - Some Paid ones of Free too :)

You don't need Chainfire 3D for Samurai Vengeance II. Just download it from the Samsung Apps-app.

With those of you having trouble getting/running GTA 3 on your Note, I also had trouble running it.....Until now...
Like many others the game is no longer available in the market place & even when attempting to purchase it online I get the message ''no devices/your device is not supported''
I had to do things the hard way by manually looking for and installing the GTA 3 apk file.
When this was complete things got worse. When attempting to install the game data via wifi I got the following message ''Data download authorization error. Is the time on your device set correctly?"
Regardless of what I tried to do the message would continue.
Once again I had to mess about looking for the data files for GTA 3 to manually run the game without the need to download it via wifi.
I then downloaded the game data & copied it to my android/data folder.
When launching the game you will still be prompted to update. If you decline it the game closes, if you accept you get the above error about the time zone.
What I had to do was to press the back button on the note. The screen would then go black and stay black.
Lastly I pushed the home button, I did not close the game but went to my home screen (game was still running in the taskbar) I then open my task bar and press GTA 3. Bam, it now works!
Anyone have any questions?

I have a fixed APK though... deleted all my files and am trying to download and reinstall, will let you know if it works at this time

What a releif I had no problem installing GTA3..
It may be of interest to some that it plays completely smoothly when clocked at 800MHz, and very slightly choppy but totally playable at 500MHz.
Also, the only games I think anybody needs are GTA3, and Zelda OoT and Majora's mask - both run smoothly with N64oid, though the latter is more demanding. I found that MM was not playable until I bought setCPU (rooted etc.), but interestingly I can play it completely smoothly when clocked at 1000MHz.
But PLEASE has anyone had success with PS1 or NDS emulators? I find that when starting an emulation, both just show the controls but fail to load a game :/
