OK, I'm kinda new at this flashing stuff but here is my issue. I tried to flash DL30 using the instructions on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=937499 Everything was fine until after step 2. When I selected "choose zip from SD Card" I couldn't find my DL30.zip =O. Anyone know how I can fix this?
When in doubt, download again. Our if you can, hook it up to your comp and do a file search. Typically it saves in downloads. Make sure its saved as a zip as well.
Also when looking for it in cwm scroll all the way to the bottom.

Wait, so its safe to select "reboot system now" after i wiped and factory reseted it? I've been staring at my CWM Menu for an hour now afraid to do anything with it until im surely sure what im doing.

Basically...i flashed dl30 over dj05 and once that was done while still in recovery I flashed new_cmw.zip. Then I reboot. Hope that helps...

Yeah I didn't do anything after step 2 in that guide, I just want to make sure I can reboot even though I did a wipe.

If i wiped everything doesn't that mean theres no rom there to boot into?
It wipes data and junk. Wipe it then flash dl30. And make sure if you had voodoo...you dusabled it.

Apparently it was right where i put it...but I'm still unable to locate it in CWM

Would it work if i install directly from rom manager?
I may be wrong but you need it in for the update zip to get to cwm.

Hi all.
Followed the guide on here:
http://androidandme.com/2010/01/hacks/video-how-to-unlock-and-root-a-nexus-one/
Rooting wasnt a problem, installing the RA wasnt a problem.
It took awhile to get the phone detected in windows through the USB Debugging mode.
Flashed it using the update-cm-5.0-N1-beta3-signed update.
Now its stuck on the screen thats flash ....
Just keeps doing it over and over. WTF is happening?
Any ideas please.
Thanks

Ok detailed instructions.
You rooted and loaded Amon's recovery.(clearly being you flashed beta 3).
Did you Nandroid back up before you flashed as the directions said?
If so, you can simply restore that. and Phoen should be good.
If not,
boot back into Amon's recovery. Hold down volume thing as you click power, to get bootload, then scroll to recovery..
In Amon's recovery, you need to Wipe, Then flash Cyan's beta 3 which should be located on the top level of you SD card.
IN future. ALWAYS do Nandroid backup. I'm new, but when i screwed up i could just restore really easily. Avoided alot of pain/stress that way.
If you still end up having trouble, we can chat via some instant messenger or something.

Using Amon's RA, there are a list of options, one of them is "wip", open that up and it will give you a list of things to wipe. You will want to "wipe data", "wipe dalvik-cache" and "wipe ext"... then, go to SD card and repair your ext.
Now would be a good time to add in an ext file to your SD card if you want to use apps to SD card... you cand do that in Amon's recovery as well under the SD option, just select "partition SD card FAT32, ext2" and follow the insturctions... then I would recommend selecting the "upgrade ext2 to ext3" option afterwards.
Once you have done all the wiping, partitioned your SD card, do 1 more "wipe data" for good measure, then flash CM's 5.0 beta, then flash the google apps pack, then reboot and you should be good to go.

I just lol'd.
I didnt see the Wipe option under flash from SD thats all
if you dont wipe first before installing new rom then this will happen to you.
i had the same problem and i wiped it and re-installed and it worked perfectly
theres a "wipe" option when you in the recovery boot image
Its all ok now. I got worried and flashed standard rom back using 'fastboot flash system system.something'
Then it booted fine, so turned off. Went into the bootloader, then down to recovery and saw 'Wipe'
Haha
haha, i am curious to know if anyone has managed to brick their N1 yet?
I rooted today, and I want to install damages rom. I've downloaded it, and I need some guidance. I have no idea where to go from here and don't see directions in the thread.
Anyone? eek! nervous
power off the phone
hold home and press the power button
let go of home when it vibrates
go to wipe..
wipe everything
go back to flash. flash the zip file.
reboot.
reboot takes forever.
what about a backup, should I run the nandroid backup and do a backup or a backup + ext I think it said or similar?
I want to make sure I can revert back to my 1.5 rom.
Do I also need to take all the damangecontrols zip file contents and put em on my sd card?

Good quick guide. They should all be so simple. Although I don't go the home/power way (unless adb isn't connecting). I use adb shell reboot recovery. Just my 2cents.

Yes, you need to nandroid. You only use nandroid+ext if you're using a2sd/apps2sd.
No, just put the zipfile on the SD card.
When you get into recovery (either the home+power on, or the adb shell reboot recovery method) AFTER doing your nandroid backup, then select 'flash zip from sd card' and select the ROM zipfile you put on the SD card.
KCarpenter's not kidding about the reboot. I've seen the first boot after installing DC's 2.0.8.1 take 15-30 minutes. So after flashing it, reboot and go take a shower or something.

Going from 2.x to 2.x yes. I never had any luck migrating those from 1.5 to 2.1. All I ever accomplished was a lot of Force Closes and problems, so I just said screw it and stopped trying.

Ok so this morning my alarm wakes me up and I noticed I had to unlock my phone to make it snooze, something didnt seem right as my alarm app usually comes up to the front and I can snooze without unlocking my screen. So what do I decide to do half asleep? I decide to reinstall the rom. Here are my steps, and I suggest you dont follow them.
1. Format system
2. Format data
3. Format cache
4. Mount system
5. Reboot phone (Swear this was an accident, as I was trying to navigate to the "install zip from sd card" option)
So my question is ,whats the quickest way to unbrick my phone. It just stays on the "M" boot logo. I found a couple of threads on different sites but want to make sure I"m using the latest method and for the Droid X. Thanks in advance

Looks like an SBF is in your very near future.
Go to the Development subforum and search there.
If you have not applied the OTA 2.2 update, you will need the instructions to SBF back to 2.1 and then apply the 2.2 leak, and load your ROM from there.
If you have already done OTA 2.2, there is also an SBF that will restore /system only. It Might save you.
BE ABSOLUTELY SURE YOU DO NOT FLASH the 2.1SBF if you were on OTA 2.2. If you do, it will be game over.
Let us know how you fair.
One of the first things I did was the 2.2 ota when I got my phone.
Thanks, I will search there and report back.

if you hose /system you won't be able to get back into recovery. Recovery depends on the logwrapper in /system/bin. If it's gone, no recovery boot.
I'm guessing Format System pretty much took care of that

I did adb push but after doing it when i unplugged the phone from my computer several Force Close came up then i rebooted my phone then the MYTOUCH Tmobile logo start up screen came then the HTC logo came then my phone will shut down. I tried to start my phone again the same thing happen. I did Hboot and tried recovery from there but it didnt work. I tried Factory Reset but it failed. I go to clockwork recovery mode if i do backup and restore or factory reset nothing happens. Does it mean my phone is gone? Is there anything i can do to fix it? Please anybody help Does this mean my phone i bricked

Haha I feel for you OP I had this problem at first (came from an EVO didn't have a trackpad) so I was confused. Didn't take much before I realized it was the trackpad inside. My new problem is my trackpad broke lol. So now I can't select anything (in the OS or in the Recovery) somehow I got the power button to work one time while I was in recovery (little white writing even came up like it does when you flash a rom that said "power button select enabled") never got this to happen again though, any ideas?

So, due to teamwin dropping twrp I flashed CWM Touch via rom manager (I did it twice, just to make sure it wasn't a bad flash or whatever happened) and when I try to shut down the phone, it just boots into recovery. Even after pulling the battery, once the battery is back in... recovery it is. It seems like it only does this when the phone is plugged in. But wtf is this? Lol, not hurting anything but annoying

What does rom have to do with recovery? Wiping cache and dalvik-cache will not do anything. It's because charging while off mode does not work anymore due to the new recovery being based off of ics and not gingerbread. That's probably why there's no power off option anymore too.
