Stuck at LG animation - GT540 Optimus General

I have a GT540 stuck at the LG animation. I had Cyanogen 6.1.1 which I didn't really like (was having some big issues with it), so I flashed a 2.1 ROM and now I'm stuck.
I have tried:
* disabling LGE Modem in device manager, rebooted laptop and phone, reconnect then flash
* booting boot into fastboot mode - screen does not go black, stays stuck at lg logo. Fastboot commands leave <waiting for device>
* using ADB while phone stuck, error "device not found" - same in download mode
* booting into safe mode with home+power button, phone stops at animation still
* flashing using KDZ in all 3 modes both when the phone is stuck and also in download mode
* flashing using the KP500 updater as described at hxxp://android.modaco.com/index.php?showto...t&p=1394990
* flashing using LG mobile support tool recovery option
* reinstalling LG drivers
* flashing with phone in download mode through LG Mobile Support tool in recovery mode, error "No software update available for this device"
* connecting to the phone through hyperterminal to do a factory reset then flashing
* some people are reporting this problem with a corrupt SD card. Removed SD card, still having this problem
* removing battery, connecting USB cable (displaying phone with arrow screen) and flashing in all 3 KDZ modes
* booting download mode by removing battery and holding VOL- while plugging cable in
I can't find ANY more ideas no matter how hard I search. I've been trying to fix this for 2 days solid now and I seem to have tried everything.
Halp!

@above
Did u tried to flash Quarx black ROM ?

I've flashed Vodafone 2.1 official, Baltic 2.1 official, French 2.1 official, a 2.1 with fastboot, and Clockwork Recovery 2.1... also out.kdz as mentioned in this thread hxxp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=825173&page=3
I'll try the Quarx ROM now but I don't like my chances
EDIT: out.kdz in the thread above is the same ROM as in the quarx black rom thread here hxxp://modmymobile.com/forums/527-lg-androids/557934-gt540-rom-black-system-rom-quarx.html so yes, I've already tried that ROM.
I've logged a service request with LG but I REALLY want to get it working without waiting a week or two for them to get to it...
thanks
EDIT #2: I CAN access the phone using Hyperterminal on COM12 (tried a hard reset that way) but I have no idea what commands exist or anything through that terminal...

When you tired to flash a ROM with fastboot what happened? still stucked @ LG logo

I can't do anything with fastboot - if I hold camera+power it won't give me a black screen, it just gets stuck at the same spot (last frame of the LG animation, white LG logo)
I tried running fastboot commands in this state but I just get <waiting for device>
EDIT: I've just re-flashed the quarx ROM but getting the same problem, camera+power hangs at the LG logo and fastboot reboot just sits there with <waiting for device>
I was wondering, is there any way at all to install software through a hyperterminal? This seems to be the only connection method that works (adb doesn't work either). I followed these instructions to do a factory reset and it worked:
In Hyper Terminal type
AT
OK --> if youre getting OK, then connection with your device is OK, if there is no OK, check again your PORTS
if you get OK, the type
AT%FRST
FACTORY RESET OK --> this will perform factory reset to your device, it might fix your problem but it might not

It didn't fix the problem, but I was able to connect and successfully perform the reset so at least that connection works... Maybe I could erase the system and then try flashing in cs_emergency mode or something?

1. Remove battery, sim, mmc coonect ur phone to pc using USB cable
2. Press Volume down + power when it boots
3. It should go to download mode now
tell me whether it is going to download mode or not

It goes into download mode when I do that, I've tried flashing in DIAG, EMERGENCY and CS_EMERGENCY modes this way with no success.

20B FAST
Try this: flash it in normal mode with KDZ updater.
Then when flash is finished enter in fastboot mode ( in this ROM flashboot is not black screen, it is blue screen with white letters) so you can easy see when you are enetered in fastboot.
then
fastboot -w

We have liftoff!
Booting the phone normally I get the LG picture, LG animation then loop at the android animation (one step further than I was getting before...)
Phone booted into blue screen fastboot mode and fastboot commands work (fastboot -w, fastboot reboot etc).
fastboot -w gives the following readout
fastboot: processing commands
fastboot: erase:userdata
skipping @ 3215 (bad block)
cannot erase @ 3215 (bad block?)
fastboot: erase:cache
Click to collapse
Best of all, the phone boots and runs normally after I ran fastboot -w. ADB commands work when the phone is booted normally. But is the 'bad block' message something I should be concerned about?
So 2 things - first, should I now be able to flash it with an official 2.1 ROM? I don't really want to reinstall Cyanogen as I had a lot of minor but REALLY annoying problems with it (bad touch and haptic feedback was the worst). I would just like to flash an official 2.1 for the time being while I find a better 2.2 port. And second, can you explain what's so special about this ROM that it worked when all the others I tried (at least 10 of them), including fastboot-enabled ones, didn't?
Thanks!

I have also two bad block but it seems that flash found them ,and skip writing to them so I think that is ok.

You should in theory: I found that I cannot flash my LG540 with any official ROM since I flash it with fastboot rom. ( and I wrote on several forums, no one give me answer) In fact, only few users tell they can flash it without any problem, but much more have same problem like me. So if you successfully flash with original ROM, tell me about that.
And second, can you explain what's so special about this ROM that it worked when all the others I tried (at least 10 of them), including fastboot-enabled ones, didn't?
I made it at home, in peace of my room
I dont know what is so special, but I rearrange few official ROM into fastboot for reason I tell before in this message.

Well thanks again I am in the middle of flashing official vodafone 2.1 so I'll let you know how that pans out.
Which ROM did you modify to come up with this one? It looks like baltic I guess
EDIT: Flash with official Vodafone Australia 2.1 ROM unsuccessful. The phone loops at the Android animation (although this is still further than I was getting before), I left it for a while (15 minutes or so) in case it was a slow first boot but it's still looping.
I guess I'll flash with your ROM and use that for a while, maybe I'll stick quarx on it.
thanks for your help mate I've been trying to unbrick this phone for nearly a week

So I tried to install black quarx using the guide in this thread: http://modmymobile.com/forums/527-lg-androids/557934-gt540-rom-black-system-rom-quarx.html
However the ROM that it says to install first leaves my phone hanging at the LG logo again. Something you did when you made your ROM avoids this problem that all other ROMs seem to cause..
I'm going to reflash with your ROM then skip the rom step in that guide and just install the black quarx system.img over the top of your ROM... we'll see if that works!

looking at the screencaps for that black quarx, something tells me I need the ROM as well as the system.img for it to work.... oh well we'll see what happens

That was case with me also. When I try quarx ROM I didnot have get it to work.
So I flash "my rom" then erase ALL
- fastboot -w
- fastboot erase system
- fastboot erase boot
and then reboot phone
fastboot reboot
Enter in fastboot mode, and flash it with quarkx ROM and should work without problem. But since black theme Quarx use i so dark for me I found it unusable, And ROM is not heavly modified so difference between them and stock ROM is not big. So for that reason I go back to "my" rom and stick to it...

I was modify UK ROM , BALTIC ROM, and OPEN EUROPE ROM ( you have it)
Baltic rom was smallest but have strange symbols when listing applications for remove ( white squares) . Also many other have that so I remove it from my phone. Beside that all was ok.
UK ROM was also ok, but have random FC on one application, so I finally flash it with OPEN EUROPE ROM, change application that have FC and now is all ok.
Battery have about 4 days of "life", phone doesn't slow down and I am happy with that ROM.
Yes, that is error I get ( but you go further then me, I stuck on LG logo)

Hey mate just noticed something tonight when I left the house (and got off wifi), mobile data doesn't work? I did a factory reset and it still doesn't work, double checked the settings and it should be fine...
Does it work on your phone?

Never have any problems with mobile data. Since you noticed wifi and mobile data doesnot work together.
Look at PAN for Internet, does at end stay: default- last option.
It must not be empty
Option name is APN model:

i have flashed lg gt540 with official android 2.1

Hi, I'm stuck at the LG screen, can't enter recovery mode and have no idea what fastboot is. so I've downloaded V20B_00 from elsewhere and I'm unable to finish the process. Is there any different between that and the you FAST version? If so can you please let me know how I can get it?

[Q] Bricked GT540 HELP!!! :s

This is my first thread ever ok, i need help unbricking my gt540. i turn it on and i just get the LG logo. it will go in download mode but what do i do from there?
If you did it with kdz updater than:
pull out battery, sim and sd
connect phone with computer, make sure you use the usb port on the back of the computer, yes it makes a diferent.
disable lg modem in the device manager
flash a rom with fastboot
go in fastboot by camara+power
connect to computer
type 'fastboot -w' and 'fastboot reboot' in cmd
then flash the rom you want to use.
That should help

Just to ask how will we flash the ROM with fastboot?
The phone is currently dead, once plug into the usb port (at the back) only the LG logo apprears blink once then the LG logo remains unless plug-out. So I'm having hard time to understand how can I go to fastboot mode. Doing your instruction - holding the power+camera button - before pluging-in and keeping it press down until the LG logo apprears yields no desirable result.
I have fastboot.exe and the adb.dlls, how ever if runned it just display "waiting for device".
Ive use the KDZ updater using emergency mode but fail
>>>>>> current error displays:
>>>>>> WPARAM 100, LPARAM 500
I understand the LPARAM 4800 error appears if the modem was not disable.
Any suggestion?
just to bump the thread and also ask a question of my own
So my pc detects the phone, i can boot in all modes but sadly my screen just won't turn on.
Put it into fastboot mode it vibrates and i plug it into the machine and windows detects it i can happily do a KDZ in emergency mode and that finishes. I go to re-set the phone, it vibrates but i get no logo's and nothing else happens.
I can also flash my system using the fastboot stuff.... Any ideas or more info needed :\
x
What if the phone doesn't react to anything (computer USB, wall charge), isn't recognized by computer (although drivers are installed) and so isn't recognized by any program on the computer....
Doesn't turn on nothing just dead!
is there anything that can be done?

[Q] installed USB drivers for gt540 not working... :\

So i feel pretty stupid as i have spent so long trying to work out the problem and i have no been successful... without even a glimmer of hope
So i have read this article and followed the last users advice and downloaded drivers for a phone which is not my model.
Anyway the problem:
When i plug my phone into the machine whilst booted normally the only thing that comes up in the device manager is: USBC - USB Mass Storage Device
I get nothing whilst in fastboot
Things i have:
I have installed LGMobile update manager
LGUnitedMobileDriver_S4981MAN32AP22_ML_WHQL_Ver_3.2.1
Android SDK
Windows 7 64-bit
My Mobile has:
1.6 standard rom
Device manager:
I have been told to follow these but i have no such things in my device manager (device name or anything in 'other') it is just completely blank.
Now any tips? i really hope somebody has had a similar problem and i am being a bit slow. I have spent the last 3 days not working and just trying to get this thing to detect itself in my computer... grr silly windows 7
[TUTORIAL] How to Flash an Android ROM
MY ADVICE, UNISTALL THE WHOLE THING, AND FOLLOW THIS:
THIS TUTORIAL BELONGS TO CHKRLY FROM TARINGA!, i just added and quit some parts, translated and attached files...
WARNING: Any of these methods can brick your phone, im not responsible if that happens. READ ALL THE TUTORIAL FIRST. If your phone gets unresponsive DO NOT PANIC! we are here for HELP!
FIRST PART
(Flash from 1.6 to 2.1 with fastboot)
In this part we are going to flash an european ROM that comes with fastboot with the purpose of flash other ROMs that needs fastboot later...
1. Create a folder, download the KDZ Updater , the European ROM and the drivers for our LG GT540 and unzip them all in the same folder. Install the drivers:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
WINDOWS7 users: Right clic>> Run as administrator.
Also is very important you install the drivers inside the LG_SmartPhone folder:
2. On to the phone go to: SETTINGS >> APPLICATIONS >> DEVELOPMENT and activate the mode USB debugging , also check out this:
SETTINGS >> SD CARD AND PHONE MEMORY >> EXTERNAL ONLY MEMORY (not SECRET_, remove if), then plug you phone to the computer
3. Close all applications you do not need on the computer & deactivate your antivirus/firewall and run the KDZ_FW_UPD.exe (Windows 7 users: right clic>>start as Administrator)
4. Once in the program select from the TYPE list the 3GQTC option and then clic in the folder icon and select the European ROM(KDZ file) from the folder where you unziped, then press the button Launch Software Update
NOTE: It is important mention that while in the process dot not interrupt the program, unplug the phone or shutdown the computer
*If it stops in any of the processes and doesn't finish (processes doesn't get stuck for long), then unplug your phone, close the program, open it again plug your phone, and run it again.
*If that doesn't help eather, remove the battery, close the program, plug your phone to the computer, start the program and run the process again.
NOTE: various problems in the following procedure to update can occur if non of the above tips helped then try this:
Go to Device Manager in your computer>> right click on the LG Modem Android>> DISABLE / Modem>> LGE Virtual Modem>> DISABLE and then try FLASHING AGAIN
THE WHOLE PROCESS SHOULD TAKE 10 MINUTES
Once the program has loaded the ROM to the phone it will appear a leyend FINISHED, after that the phone will reboot and boot android 2.1 with fastboot.
SECOND PART
(Flash from stock 2.1+fastboot to custom 2.1/2.2/2.3...)
1. Download the following files:
- Google SDK tools, then run the .exe, install in C:\ drive and rename the folder to sdk-android.
- Drivers for your computer recognize the phone in fastboot mode. Unzip and put the files of folder in C:\sdk-android
INSTALL WITH YOUR PHONE PLUGGED:
... then next and it will install the drivers.
- Clockwork recovery (latest version) and place it in C:\sdk-android
- Download the ROM you want to flash for FASTBOOT NOT RECOVERY, UNZIP and place the .IMG FILES in C:\sdk-android
2. Shutdown your phone and Start it in fastboot mode (CAMERA+POWER BUTTON) hold the camera for 1 sec then add the power button . Wait few second you will see LG's logo then the screen will turn dark, CLEAN DARK SCREEN, just in that moment you are in FASTBOOT mode.
3. Plug your phone to the computer and open a CMD terminal and type:
cd C:\sdk-android
4. Once inside the folder type ONE by ONE:
fastboot flash recovery recovery_clockwork_3.0.2.4_swift.img
fastboot -w
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase boot
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot -w
fastboot reboot
THAT MY FRIEND IS A CLEAN INSTALL...
5. Once is rebooting fast login to recovery pressing POWER+HOME. Inside recovery select wipe data/factoryreset for reset the phone. Then select reboot, and that's it YOUR DONE!
6. Set your phone as you like install all your apps and once you done reboot into recovery and go to backup & restore>> backup for create a backup of your entire phone.
One more thing to add.
Dont forget to backup the rom after installing the clockwork recovery
Sent from my GT540 using XDA App
Go into Settings and choose SDCard & Phone Storage, Untick "Mass Storage Only" This fixed my problem with ADB not working when I first got mine. Also, you don't need to reflash your ROM to fix driver problems.
Hope it helps,
Jack

He can't reflash the rom because his PC wont detect the phone.
cheers for the replies dude yup jack you are right comp won't detect it. Still uninstalling everything and disabling everything did get me a step closer i feel.
I have attached the problems i seem to be getting now.
[update]
So it appears to be working now... what did i do to get it showing up? Uninstalled everything and just installed one driver: LGUnitedMobileDriver_S497MA20_WHQL_ML_Ver_1.0
and then i think the key difference and for what reason this works i am not sure but turning the phone off (as well as having usb debugging on and turning off sd storage) and plugging it into the pc from an off state!
O yes and i uninstalled the android SDK as well.
so like in the last post i said things were getting better i do believe they are here is where i get stuck each time now
Step Complete: DLOAD change
I have attached both my log file and a print screen of my device manager... umm just so you guys know thanks for helping out again

oh i see, it seems you have just installed 1 driver but here i show you:
*Install first the LGUnitedMobileDriver_S497MA20_WHQL_ML_Ver_1.0.msi and then LGUnitedMobileDriver_S497MA20_WHQL_ML_Ver_1.0.exe AS ADMINISTRATOR (all of them) just in case and then the bluetooth driver if you want, also is very important you install the drivers inside the LG_SmartPhone folder:
*Unzip the and install them , if you dont have all this drivers then download from here:
http://www.mediafire.com/?ltebjhq24f462lp
THANKS ARE WELCOMED!
cheers dude, well apparently LGUnitedMobileDriver_S497MA20_WHQL_ML_Ver_1.0.msi won't installed on windows 7 64-bit. I have the same problem at home and now at work... :s the installer opens up and instantly closes. I have tried compatibility mode but all of the options are greyed out. I may give xp a try via a WM.
I have posted this in another thread so maybe this is naughty butttt.....
"So my pc detects the phone, i can boot in all modes but sadly my screen just won't turn on.
Any ideas or more info needed :\
x"
Also to now when trying to use fastboot it will just wait for the device even though maybe 2 hours ago it was working :s maybe since i have tried the emergency KDZ rom it has stopped this working?
Clutching at straws?

I dont understand what is the problem then you say windows recognize it and you can use KDZ, fastboot state is that way no logo no nothing, just a dark clean screen, so thats is NORMAL. And for fastboot for the "waiting for the device" make sure you have all the neccesary drivers installed as i explained in the tutorial. There are other drivers for your pc to recognize you phone in fastboot mode.

Ye the problem is that it says finished... and then i go to re-set the phone and it just vibrates and nothing else... nothing what-so-ever on the screen. This has happened, i have use kdz many times and each time it has said finished successfully and i reset the phone and same problem.
All the drivers are installed as i have already used the fastboot to flash it eariler, but i obviously did something wrong there

I see you talk about flash KDZ and system.img apart ... what are you trying to do? dont play that way with your phone from KDZ to fastboot flash and viceversa many times cause you will brick your phone. there is more chances to brick if you want to go back from custom 2.1/2.2/2.3 to stock 2.1(flashed by KDZ).
So ok if you can access to fastboot (means you have flashed a ROM with fastboot) and flash from there succesfully try erasing everything you have posibly flashed in your phone to clean it all and lets see it if gets successful
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase cache
now install custom 2.1/2.2/2.3 ROM. Stop flashing with KDZ . i recommend superfast froyo rom
fastboot flash boot.img
fastboot flash system.img (both .img should be inside C:\*SDK\tools folder)
fastboot reboot
sorry for the confusion dude...
I cannot use fastboot it still says wait for device, but i know i have the correct drivers. KDZ does detect the phone and also gets all the way through on the update on the euro+fast.
O yes and when it says finished and i take the battery out and try to start the phone it just vibrates and nothing else.
Have i tried any other kdz's? No i don't have a clue of where to download them from :\
Cheers again
Then the kdz you are using is the problem. There is a new post about rom 20E that is good in performance and works well. Download and flash it

Bricked my streak already ? Help !

Just got my streak yesterday, only had it a few hours and i've somehow managed to brick it already !
Started on the official 1.6, upgraded to official 2.2, rooted it, installed clockwork recovery. All was fine up until this point, i then went to install the performance fix http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=848487 but after doing so my streak stopped booting, since then its just hanging at the dell logo.
First thing i tried was restoring to the default recovery rom by holding power + volume buttons and option 2. This didnt work so i then tried this http://android.modaco.com/content/d...2-1-downloads-how-tos-rom-superboot-recovery/ and still no luck.
I've been at it for hours and its late so im giving up for now, i just hope the xda community can help me out.
Edit: I should add that the recovery image (option 2) is going through fine without errors, its only that when it boots it hangs at the dell logo. Also, fastboot is working so hopefully its not completely bricked. Is there anything i can do ?
get qdl tool and see if u can get to 305 stock

When its done it will reboot and be on stock 305 and then u can try again with ur update
Thanks just had a go at QDL but cant seem to get it to work. I got it to detect my phone as the Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostics 9002 but after clicking run it just errors.

After countless hours of going insane i have managed to get my streak working again using the o2 package (build 8105) found here http://android.modaco.com/content/d...2-1-downloads-how-tos-rom-superboot-recovery/
I couldnt get QDL to work for some reason so in the end i just downloaded the above package, copied to sd, renamed to update.pkg, powered on with volume buttons and chose option 2.
Its working now so thats the main thing, i was worried i might have bricked it for good ! Now i just need to get back to the official dell rom
If I wre doing this, I would get the multi_recovery tool. I would put the 351 package on your SD card
Flash the 351 recovery with the tool. Do not boot up go right into the recovery and point it to the 351 package. Make sure the 351 package has been renamed to the proper name. Either update.pkg or update.zip.
Worked like a champ for me.

Sorry but bug in but I'm having the same issue. I finally got QDL to work but after it finishes, the phone shows a screen with "Andriod system recovery utility
Press the shutter button to start emergency software recovery
Warning all data will be erased
Press the Volume up button to power off without recovering".
After I press shutter the it loads the update.pkg and then sits on the dell logo, and sits, and sits.
I'm now back on the official dell 2.2, in the end i had to flash the 351 recovery image to get the rom pkg to work.
I flashed the above recovery in fastboot mode since i cant get QDL to work, checked my drivers countless times, tried windows 7 64 bit and 32 bit, aswell as windows xp 32 bit. 64 bit always gives me the d14 error and 32 bit is the d2 error so i just cant understand why it wont work, surely it cant be a driver issue since fastboot works flawlessly and i've spent hours checking the driver now. Also i've followed the guide on streakdroid to the book so im pretty certain my setup is perfect.
Anyway, im happy with the official 2.2 for a while now but at some point i would like to try a custom rom through qdl, etc.

That's it? WHen I installed the recovery from your link, after it said recovery install done(something along those lines) the phone didn't restart like it has with my previous recovery installs. I waited a few minutes, pulled the battery, and restarted into recovery, hit update and it has been a blank screen since.
I think I'm out of luck. I had the phone plugged into the charger all night and I'm trying to flash it now and the battery is at 0%. Can't charge it or anything. Time to call dell.

[Q]Any way to unbrick my phone?

I have installed swift droid on my GT540 and tommorow i wanted to change the the system to 4.0 by Mike Gapinski. Before flashing mike gapinski's rom i tried to install the original android and id failed. Now after LG logo there's a linux kernel panic
Process init (pid: 1). I've tried flashing with kdz updater on EMERGENCY and CS_EMERGENCY with that V20_a French rom but the log got stuck at wParam=205 lParam=215 and after it the phones reboot and kdz doesnt do anything more.

are u able to enter recovery / fastboot mode?
Download mode only
Use kdz updater to flash a 2.1 rom that has fastboot enabled. Use cs_emergency mode (phone in download mode).
When it finishes (or just stops) pull the battery then put it back in and go straight to fastboot.
Connect to pc and do:
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase cache
Then flash recovery back on. Then use recovery or fastboot to flash whatever rom you want...

Hi my friend, i've experimented this problems months ago, when i started with my phone..
This is the only solution i found, risking:
Follow the same process, and when the log got stuck at wParam=205 lParam=215, disconnect the phone, wait 2 seconds, and reconnect in download mode, the process in kdz will continue until the end..
We hope your results
When i bricked my phone too the process in KDZ used to freeze at the same point as yours...just be a little more patient and the process will proceed and everything will be ok..KDZ is a very useful tool at times like it..
Stuck
After flashing to European ROM-fastboot its stuck at android logo. Any other roms causes nothing to happen.
Help
Anyone knows what to do? I dont have warranty.
One of my friend had the same problem (stuck at android logo), I don't remember exactly how we fixed it, but we fixed it by trying everything written on XDA.
IIRC we tried a lot of ROMs in normal and both emergency. Don't forget to close programs that could interfere with the flashing process (anti-virus and such)
My post isn't useful but it's to let you know that there's still a way to fix it.
Does he remember what was the topic?

After flashing European rom from kdz, you must enter in fastboot mode and flash whatever personalized rom you want.. swiftdroid asis, utopia, ics beta 4..
To enter in fastboot mode turn off your phone and then press camera button + power..
Thanks
Thanks ! It worked !
Thank you all!
followed instructions but stuck now
I have goofed up big time in trying to roll back Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread (Swiftdroid) CM 7.1 to stock. I used KDZ updater and got up to "Smart : wParam = 205, lParam = 215". Then the it stops and the phone tries to reboot and is no longer recognized by windows vista. The phone scree shows:
[Blue Error Handler] Arm11 is Crashed !!
[Press Volume up key] Reboot&savelog
[Press Volume down
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Linux Kernel Panic
Process init(pid: 1)
--------------------------------------------------------------------
There are multiple lines after that which fill rest of the screen. I guess I can take a photo and post it if required.
I followed the above advice, put the phone in Download mode and left KDZ to finish. then I got this log:

OK. I used KDZ to flash romfastboot, then reinstalled Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread (Swiftdroid) CM 7.1 and all is well again.
Maybe (just maybe) you're flashing a wrong image...GT540 is ARM6 based not ARM11 as the message says.

arm V6 = arm 11
I am having this exact same problem, but the solution wasn't clearly written in this thread....
Whichever rom I try and flash using KDZ, they all get stuck at the android boot logo when trying to turn the phone on.
But so what exactly is the solution please??
Mate it's a 3 year old thread, but I might just have the solution somewhere just give me til tomorrow.

Cheers thankyou.
This has literally ruined my entire life currently, as having my phone broken has made me lose so much stuff in my job and everything.
Ive looked all over this forum and others but everyone just keeps saying the same rubbish about ''flashing using kdz'',
but that simply doesn't work, and the kdz tool is just a piece of crap in my view!!
But so if you know the actual solution il appreciate it so much
What KDZ images did you try to flash? (BTW KDZ is the only way out of this situation). What exactly does your screen say while booting?
In my case, from what I remember, I either tried flashing one of the multiple images published in this forum and it just clicked, or i may have tried unplugging the phone while flashing with KDZ just to see if breaking it further may undo the damage done before, but that is the last resolve.
When you post additional info and whether you want/can try some possibly bricking techniques I can help you more.
Till then mate.

I managed to unbrick it yesterday.
I used KDZ, cs-emergency, it was saying phone not found but using a trick from a page on facebook I removed the battery and reconnected the usb (it showed a screen saying it needed battery), but KDZ detected phone and it flashed 2.1 (update 1) which I think was a stock rom.
I then managed to get it back to 4.2.1 rom by using fastboot to flash 2.3.3 rom,
then using fastboot again to flash 2.3.7 rom,
and then using recovery to install 4.2.1 rom from zip.
Im still having the exact same problem with the phone as before though,
as when I try and use Mounts2sd, the phone just screwsup totally.
Its because it always says ''error mounting sd-ext''.
I cannot use the phone without mounts2sd though, since there isn't enough memory for even 1 app without it! :'(
But re-partitioning sd cards just destroys them.
I had to go and buy yet another sd card today as the other 2 had been ruined totally by the phone!!
I tried to re-flash the 2.1 rom via fastboot and also tried through recovery.
When trying through fastboot and KDZ the phone wont get detected by KDZ (removing the battery now doesn't make any difference like it did yesterday as it wont do that same screen it did yesterday),
and when I tried to flash a 2.1 rom I found via recovery it just showed a screen saying loads of errors and that my rom couldn't allow that, and then the phone wouldn't turn on just kept getting stuck at the cyanogen logo.
So I had to go and buy a brand new sd card, put it into my computer, put the 4.2.1 rom onto it, start phone in recovery which it could still get to luckily, and then install that rom again.
But so now I have a phone that is on 4.2.1 rom, will turn on ok, but cos there is an issue with the SD-ext mounting,
I cannot install mounts2sd, and so cannot use the phone!! :'( :'(
