Well since trying WP7 - when i switch my phone off and plug in the charger it automatically reboots.
I thought it may be a wp7 problem but now i have switched to a nand Desire z build (by dandiest) and i have the same problem..
Anyone have this problem? or know of a fix?
Thought it might be a charger problem but surely if the connectors were faulty it wouldnt allow me to flash various roms...
I have googled but no luck..

I dont understand this exactly, so do your phone turn off or does it reboot? Or does it reboot, when you TRY to turn it off while the charger is pluged in? If this is the case, then its working like it should. (i guess, you are allready on magdlr 1.13)
hehe, and no, its not a problem, it a feature. But seriously why dont you read the first page in the magdl 1.13 thread?

Yeah it turns on when the charger is plugged in..
Its a "Feature" bit of a strange one..I didnt read the Magldr thread because i didnt think that would be the problem.
this is a Q&A forum so i asked a Question.
Now solved. Mods please close thread// thanks
That was the only way cotulla could fix the problem of charging while off with magldr. With earlier versions, if you charged while off, it would not boot until you took battery out and replace... and people complained and wanted a fix, so he fixed it the only way possible: by making the phone boot up when connected to charger while off. You can go to earlier version of magldr if you want it the other way. Or just charge phone while it's on.

Stuck in HTC screen after MAGLDR 1.13
I have HSPL2.8 ... i got Stuck in HTC screen after MAGLDR 1.13 installation ..I tried SOFT and HARD resets no luck ....Plz help
It's better than it not turning back on after turning it off while charging it.
I rather go with the new 113 version. i hate that i have to take the battery out since my case is pretty hard to pull out and put back in. I can't think of any con with phone turning on while plug in when off.

Hold the power button while it's powering on. That'll get you into MAGLDR.

In my attempt to run Android I think I accidentally bricked my phone/
Couple weeks ago I installed HSPL3 in my phone, after this I installed Chucky GTX ROM and also I installed Radio 2.12 then I installed HTC Sense Desire Build but Android wasnt running fine at all.
Ok last week unistall Chucky ROM and installed Energy.Leo.COM2.Barebones WM Build.For.Android, I changed the the radio to 2.15 and I installed MCCM SE V3.4 FroyoStone Sense which it ran great and did not had any problem with it. But about two days ago I would try to unlock the screen but the screen would not respond at all so, I thought it w9s just android so I turned the phone off and boot into windows but the touch screen was unresponsive also. Usually it would come back to normal where the phone would work just fine but today it did it and the phone completely stopped working.
I thought if I change the ROM it would fix it, so I change the ROM and Radio but with no success, in my desperation trying to fix it I googled the problem and I read that if I execute Task 29 that might would fix it, so I did but it only stays on the boot screen (it has ENERGY Boot loader) and it does not show at the bottom Radio, ROM or anything that it usually shows.
The last thing that I did was try to hard reset it but it did not work, I really would like someone to help me with this if there is anything I can do to fix my phone, please, please I would really appreciate it. Thanks before hand
...your phone isn't bricked. Task 29 erases your ROM from your phone. I wish people would stop recommending Task 29 because people who don't read don't understand what it does. Anyways, you need to load another ROM onto your phone now and see if the screen works...more than likely, it won't. This is a known problem with the HD2 running Android from the SD card and we are still not quite sure of the cause or of a fix other than sending the phone back to HTC for repair, which costs around 125USD if your device is not under warranty.

What do you mean by "cuts in?" If you tasked 29 your phone you gotta hold down the volume down toggle and at the same time turn you phone on to access your bootloader. Then plug it into the computer and it'll say usb, blah, blah, blash, and flash a rom.

It worked I did what u tell me to do and I installed Chucky ROM in the phone I again and is the touch screen is working, everything got bak to normal. Thank you so very much and Im sorry for the trouble, I guess I need to read next time before I do anything like this.
When i have my nand rom phone off i plug in my usb cable and it turn on by itself?
Any sugestion?
that's cause magldr can't handle power when it's off.
i thought it was fixed in 1.13
i think is not fixed because it turns on maybe it could be the nand rom that i have i guess
Yes its a Magldr issue, not the Rom
simple solution to an old topic, plug in when on, not when off!
Lol its not a MAGLDR 'issue'. It's what Cotulla had to do to fix something which happened with 1.12 that when you were charging while off, you would have to do a battery pull to get back up and running. So its better for the battery that your phone automatically starts up. Why can't you just have it turn on anyway?

Because is better charge it when the phone is off for me that having it turn on
Your only option if it's that important to you is to remove MGLDR and go back to winmo 6.5 then.

Actually this is wrong. There's another option which is cLK (cedesmith's little kernel) bootloader. I don't really know anything about it but that allows charging while off.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
Ive been using cLK for quite a while now here are the key things i like about it
Key Features for me
1.Charge while turned off
2.No 1,2,3 GO GO GO screen like MGLDR it goes splash screen then boot-animation
3.reboot into Recovery and native bootloader from within the rom
4.Fully working Rom Manager( no selecting Desire or any phone model thats not yours
I think my phone might be fudged. I have been running android fine for the last few weeks until it crashed, I removed the battery to reset but the phone wouldn’t turn back on. However I could boot to the tri-color screen so I tried putting windows 6.5 back on the phone, the installation finished but the phone still wouldn’t boot the OS. I can still get the tri-color screen and have tried re-installing the radio/magdlr but they stick on 0%. Also my battery at best probably has 20-30% of juice left (it won’t charge either).
Anyone know what the cause of the problem is and if there is a way it can be fixed?
thanks in advance!

Try doing a Task29 then flash a compatible Radio then flash MAGLDR.. and lets see what happens
You will need to charge your battery. If it dies during a flash then you will have an even bigger problem to sort out.
If its less than 50% this is probably why its sticking at 0%.
Is your HSPL still intact and which radio are you using?

lower than 50% doesn't really matter from the bootloader, only RUU.
It sounds like hardware problem, or something fishy going on in NAND, I'd do task29 followed by ROM/Radio
thanks for the responses. I still have hspl, I manged to successfully install task 29 after that I tried flashing a windows 6.5 rom, once again phone won't start up after 100% all i can do is get to the 4 colored screen.
is there anything else I can try? considering my battery must be really low and I have no way of charging it.

If you got 100% when you flashed the Windows Mobile ROM and your HD2 rebooted itself, then you sucessfuly flashed the ROM.
Did it boot up to the bootloader or the first splash screen (Stick Together or white HTC screen depending on which HD2 you have)?
If it booted to the first splashscreen it could be the processor having troubles or possible bad blocked incthe NAND memory.
If it boots straight to bootloader then you have a bad NAND memory.
It doesn't reboot to either screen, it simply turns off after the rom is finished installing and doesn't start back up again. The only thing I can do is press volume down and red button to boot the 4 colored screen. When I press the power button all that happens is the phone sometimes makes a tiny vibration.

Yeah sounds like you probably have a internal problem with hardware. But it might could because software related issue, but I highly doubt it. The only software problem you could have that I can think of is a problem with your SPL or HSPL which ever one you have, but you should have HSPL cause you where running Android.

If you are asking if a currupt splash screen could cause your issue, I would have to say it could be possible, but I do not know enough to say for sure, sorry. You can put this to a test though and flash another splash screen, but the ROM should have flashed a splash screen. Maybe the splash screen it flashed was currupted or had a bad flash. Go to this link to get a splash screen and learn how to flash one.
I've said this a lot in other threads, but create a gold card SD. This will allow you to flash ALL the necessary components from the SD card. Then report back with your experience...
Before anyone says it i have been searching all day.

If it turns on while plugged in then its obviously most likely your battery that is fooked.
Try a different battery or leave it charging for hour or 2.
agreed.

you guys are 100% Awesome you really think leaving it on the charger for a while will help? More info btw It can flash anything as long as its plugged in. ive changed it back to MAGDLR to the stock Tmobile US Rom. and now it just boots then as soon as the OS gets ready to show up then it just reboots again... you think its the same issue?
sounds more like battery pins / charging hardware fault to me, and since it is now in a bootloop, which is common in battery pin problems.
Check the pins carefully.
EDIT - oh just seen your update in post 1, lol
----this is the story part can be skippable----
Well i usually find the solution of my problems on internet but this time i think my hd2 came to an end.
I always thought i will make it brick while trying to update a rom but it happened this morning when i was at school
it has an issue, sometimes when i press the buttons it does not wake the screen up
that happened again and i thought its the same problem, i took the battery out and put the battery back in
----end of the story---
when i turn it on it stucked at white screen with htc logo. i waited and it didnt pass to magldr screen(i tried several times)
i put it in bootloader mode too and saw Serial is showing there
(Note: when my hd2 is in this 2 modes it looks like if i leave it like that it will go till its charge ends)
But when i connect it to computer, screen goes black (backlight still on)
And i am not allowed to do anything (neither task29 or installing magldr)
so i made a research, some says "if you think its a hardware problem put it in the freezer and try if it works when its cold"
i tried and only thing it made was making its screen go black with a cooler style
( i can upload a video of it and screencaps of issues both magldr and task29 gave )
and i should say there were no problem except "waking up the screen" before all of these happened
I am using NexusHD2 CM9 rom that i downloaded from android.hd2roms.com
2.08 HSPL and magldr 1.13
and last night when i pulled my adapter from plug i felt it was overheated
Please help and sorry for all grammar mistakes

nothing all that uncommon about that situation, there are lots of hd2's around the world in similar states, to greater or lesser degrees. There's a small chance that JTAGging it would bring it back, but i suspect not
