[REQUEST] ODIN Pit & PDA Files (2.2 i897 & i9010) - Captivate Android Development

I'll be editing the param.lfs partitions for these builds to allow more than just i9000 based boot screen editing. However, I can not seem to find the PIT and PDA files for the i897 Froyo build or the i9010 build to suit the Armani based Andromeda users. Does anyone know where I can find these? Obviously the 1 Click 2.2 for i897 is everywhere but that doesn't help me for what I'm doing.
Currently I have the i9000 and 2.1 i897 builds working and I can cover all the builds to give this MODability to all users I just need the original files to extract and edit and then recompile.
Thanks in advance!

I don't know if this is what you're looking for or if there's a .pit file in there, since I'm on my phone at the moment.

Unfortunately that DG link is dead at the moment but it's probably what I would be looking for. I'll register at Samfirmware and let you know if atleast the i9010 is correct.

Any other links guys? I searched for about 2-3 minutes so I'm being a bit lazy...

what exactly do you need, out of curiosity? the param.lfs or the PIT?
JJ4 did not contain a param.lfs and it uses the standard 512.pit
there is the (older) JI6 param.lfs in this link: http://www.multiupload.com/4N35DI3NIJ (thanks to supercurio for separating the one-click into usable bits) inside pda.tar
as for i9010, I cannot help you :/

+1 on that magic dust
This will be the first time I'll flash using .tar files. I have the one click file as well but want to get comfortable with this method too. Can someone post a screen shot of what the UI should look like? I know how to load the 3 .tar files but what about the checkboxes and other options?
Also - Is there no PIT file? Not needed?

Hi, a question, how did you extract them? Are they plain tar files embedded in the .exe odin flasher? Thanks!

i will be posting my work shortly, in the meantime i would like to know if you find this tool useful.
also please inform me if such tool exists already.
Edit:
This is the first beta

Just some quick feedback, when I click the Exit button, nothing happens....
Can you provide a link to the source? Is it on GitHub? It would be nice to extend this to a tool that can create Odin or Heimdall packages...
This doesn't work properly btw, the Block Size isn't changed when the Block Count is changed
and you can fix your phone as long as you have the original PIT file

AP is the whole operating system to flash! This file may be over 1Gb .
i will believe it when i see if, nothing anywhere about any kitkat leaks, no explanation from OP where it came from... very suspect.
Could someone post screenshots please?
Finished.
Also I think this CAN work on 8010, you just flash without MODEM part.
Try at your risk tho.

Probably
If you put BL, AP and CSC in good places in Odin it shouldn't fail.
If it fails on the very beginning then it's just not compatible with N8010 and nothing bad should happen.
Okay, I see there are different parts of AP for example. How can I make one zip of them?

You unpack them into 1 tar file.
If you dont know what you are doing please dont do it. I posted it here on developers forum for people who know what to do.
Why parts? Because zippyshare has 200MB limit.
That is not a problem. I already flashed a lot of roms and worked with odin. But I never used zip files which were splited. So to make it clear: I download and mark the parts and zip them to a .tar archive. Right?

LOL, Not quite. You would download them all, then use 7-Zip or something like that to unpack the first one in the series. It will unpack them all, and the result should be one .tar file

[Q] Touchscreen drivers location?

Hey guys,
Im trying to port a I9505 rom to my I9515 but one of the main problems is that the touchscreen doesn't work when you flash I9505 roms on the I9515. So I went looking for the touchscreen drivers in a stock rom but I just can't find them. So do you guys have any idea where the touchscreen drivers are located?
Thanks.
Not 100% but I think I they are in the kernel...broodplank created a high sensitivity touch app (glove mode)...he could help
Thanks for your reply!
I extracted the boot.img using kitchen and there is one folder containing some other folders and files wich I searched but I found nothing and theres the zImage. Could it be possible that the zImage contains the drivers?
According to a page I found with google it should be a file ending with .ko
Do you have any idea where the .ko files are located?
Thanks!
As far as I know, .ko files are modules so they will be in the zimage

Do you know how to open the zImage? There isn't an option to do it in Kitchen.
There's some threads related to that in the Android/hacking section (or android/software development, I can't remember)

[ROOT] PingPong Root ROM Workshop Thread

***PLEASE DO NOT REPLY IN THIS THREAD UNLESS YOU ARE WORKING ON A ROM. THANK YOU***https://plus.google.com/share?url=http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/general/root-pingpong-root-rom-workshop-thread-t3104639
If you have any questions, please send me a PM.
Due to my limited bandwidth and slow connection to oversea download sites, it takes too long to get new ROM scanned and supported. I need volunteers with knowledge of Odin tarballs and ROM zip packages to help me extracting "useful" part out of the ROM and upload them to speed up the process. Thank you for making this tool better
How to get involved:
1. You need to know how to extract boot.img and system partition files from Odin tarball and recovery flash-able ZIP packages.
2. Pick one of the ROM from the pending list. Please search in thread first to see if anyone is already working on it (and not yet failed). I'll also maintain the list regularly.
3. Search for this ROM on SamMobile or other sources. If you can find it, please reply in this thread in form of "WIP ROM version" so others will know.
4. Download the ROM, extract following pieces:
- boot.img
- /system/build.prop
5. Create a zip file named ROM_version.zip, containing boot.img and build.prop (inside system folder please), and upload it to a mediafire/mega share:
***remove the account, seems it never works***
6. Once done, please update the reply with "DONE ROM version". For any reason it failed or you can't continue, just replace it with "deleted".

Couldn't one just extract the boot img and build.prop from their device an upload? Saves a lot of un needed rom downloading if the user does not need it.
