[REQUEST] ODIN Pit & PDA Files (2.2 i897 & i9010)

I'll be editing the param.lfs partitions for these builds to allow more than just i9000 based boot screen editing. However, I can not seem to find the PIT and PDA files for the i897 Froyo build or the i9010 build to suit the Armani based Andromeda users. Does anyone know where I can find these? Obviously the 1 Click 2.2 for i897 is everywhere but that doesn't help me for what I'm doing.
Currently I have the i9000 and 2.1 i897 builds working and I can cover all the builds to give this MODability to all users I just need the original files to extract and edit and then recompile.

I don't know if this is what you're looking for or if there's a .pit file in there, since I'm on my phone at the moment.

Unfortunately that DG link is dead at the moment but it's probably what I would be looking for. I'll register at Samfirmware and let you know if atleast the i9010 is correct.

Any other links guys? I searched for about 2-3 minutes so I'm being a bit lazy...

what exactly do you need, out of curiosity? the param.lfs or the PIT?
JJ4 did not contain a param.lfs and it uses the standard 512.pit
there is the (older) JI6 param.lfs in this link: http://www.multiupload.com/4N35DI3NIJ (thanks to supercurio for separating the one-click into usable bits) inside pda.tar
as for i9010, I cannot help you :/

In the video, around 01:34, a file name Continuum Pit.pit is shown. Could that be it? What is that file and where do I find it?

Ignore it. You don't need it.

I use the pit file everytime I use Odin now. It helps the files go on the right place. Instead of dumping it on Droid to decypher it out. You can down load it from my ec07clean tut in #2 post.

[Q] Miunia ROM Patches

Does anyone have the clock and email patches for the Miunia ROM? Also one to fix the WiFi Tether? The dev posted links but they are all broken.
I'm not sure what I can do as far as making threads/posts because every time I try to contact someone or make a post in the right thread, this new member rule doesn't let me because I don't have 10 "helpful" posts.
If anyone can help, it'd be much appreciated.

You can always download ec07 clean or stock from database in Dev section. Unzip and pull apks. Then put on sdcard and install

So I can unzip the stock EC07 file and pull out apks? Sounds relatively straightforward, but you can install them if they're just on the sdcard? Seems deceptively easy...

Simply put them on sdcard, then move to /system/app with a root browser, and reboot

What is a root browser? Do I use my computer?
EDIT: Never mind. I looked it up. Thanks for the help! I'll post if I have any problems installing.

Pay for Root Explorer. It's cheap and invaluable.

So I downloaded one of the stock EC07 ROMs and unzipped it. I found the Clock apk and installed it just fine.
But the Email.apk I found was only the Corporate Email app.
What is the regular Email app called? That's the one I need.

It's a part of z7.apk.

Alright so I installed the apks last night. Email is up and running just fine.
FYI for anyone reading this in the future: in order to get the Email app to show up, you have to install both z7.apk and z7-rel-UI.apk
Works like a charm!

Also, a big thank you to you guys and everyone else in this community. You have breathed life into my phone. Thank you so much to all of the devs as well! I have high hopes and I am glad to have joined XDA! I don't know how much I can contribute, but I will offer whatever I can!

[Q] Extracting boot.img

Anyone have any idea how to do this or where it is even found? I've read that one is created in CWM recovery backup but for some reason my backup doesn't contain a boot.img file. Please don't tell me to take it from someone elses ROM for educational purposes I would like to know how to do it myself. I also don't need to know how to split the file. I just need to know where it is found or how to obtain it.

So how do you make modifications to the ramdisk or view the init.rc file? Is it in the zImage?

There is a couple ways.
Dsixdas kitchen its in old school mods menu (I can't remeber this second)
Or
An 'extract boot img' script from github
Sorry on phone and too time consuming to grab links

Then u gotta compile from sources or try to repack it

AP is the whole operating system to flash! This file may be over 1Gb .

i will believe it when i see if, nothing anywhere about any kitkat leaks, no explanation from OP where it came from... very suspect.

I would try to flash it on my n8010. But if it fails, can i flash back to 4.1.2 or a rom?

Probably
If you put BL, AP and CSC in good places in Odin it shouldn't fail.
If it fails on the very beginning then it's just not compatible with N8010 and nothing bad should happen.

You unpack them into 1 tar file.
If you dont know what you are doing please dont do it. I posted it here on developers forum for people who know what to do.
Why parts? Because zippyshare has 200MB limit.

That is not a problem. I already flashed a lot of roms and worked with odin. But I never used zip files which were splited. So to make it clear: I download and mark the parts and zip them to a .tar archive. Right?

LOL, Not quite. You would download them all, then use 7-Zip or something like that to unpack the first one in the series. It will unpack them all, and the result should be one .tar file
