Hi together,
I am doing my first steps wit Copes GB232/CM7. It works perfect. But still one problem exists. I can't sync my HTC HD2 with my Windows XP SP3 PC.
The PC recognizes the phone with the known USB Windows sound and the phone also recognizes the PC. But there is only an option to activate the phone as an removable storage. I think there should be an option for HTC Sync on the phone.
Any ideas?
with regards,
Fabian
Sync only works with Sense based roms, so you're either gonna have to give up Gingerbread or Sense. I'm not much of a Sense fan, so I say keep GB and look into syncing your everything with Google. I've never used HTC Sync and I don't know its functionality, but I'm sure Google can do whatever it is you want, they've got some seriously powerful tools.

I followed a few guides but I cant get the Magic to sync with HTC Sync on W7. Not even to recognize it. I was able to get it recognized as removable storage though, so at least my computer itself can see the device.
32 bit
and yes, I have the updated HTC Sync
Can anyone help?
Holy crap. A new version of the HTC Sync software is available. Even downloaded (and caused a BSOD, but what's a BSOD between friends?) the latest USB drivers for me.
I found it after reading about it on IntoMobile:
http://www.htc.com/www/SupportViewNews.aspx?dl_id=1062&news_id=806
nice find, thnks
What's different with the new HTC sync compared to the old ?
Maybe it works?? The old one used to work great then something changed and it only works right after I plug the phone in, I then have to change back to charge only after the sync. And if it fails, I had to do the repair or it screwed up my calendar, BIG.. If it works great, if it doesn't, I don't think 3.0 has repair as an option...
Fingers crossed...
and as usual, it isn't compatible for mac. ugh!
Hey cool it supports Outlook 2010 finally.
I've been looking all around on forums and google, and it seems like alot of ppl are having this problem, but I couldn't find the solution.
I cant for the life of me figure out how to sync my Samsung Focus (Rogers) to my 32 Bit Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 laptop. At first I thought I was supposed to use Zune, but the guy on the technical support line said I had to use Kies. Neither program could detect my Focus when I plugged it in. I got confirmations sounds from BOTH the phone and the PC, but nothing from either program. I use the same USB port for my iPod, so thats not the problem. And Ive tried uninstallations, reinstallations, rebooting the phone, resetting to factory settings, and Im using the same cord that came with the phone.
PLEASE, someone, please tell me how to fix this. Im ready to throw both my laptop and cell out the window.
Thanks,
Ross
Hi Ross. You suppose to use Zune only (I don't know what a tech. support guy is talking about). Do the following:
- download and install latest Zune;
- get a 100% working USB<->micro-USB cable (it's important);
- connect Focus to PC, drivers should install automatically, Zune will start and ask you to do same simple steps.
You'll need a valid LiveID (create one on the PC) and (optional) you may initialize additional services like Microsoft LiveDrive or Facebook.
Kies is the Samsung PC sync app/firmware update app for Samsung's Android phones like Captivate. Not for WP7 phones.
All WP7 phones use Zune to sync, but only for media (song and video) and firmware updates, nothing else. You can't sync your Outlook directly to your phone. Nor can you sync any files directly to your phone.
I've searched, debugged, tried this that and just about everything (I think)
At this point I can't flash any new ROMS to my phone(s), simliar thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=794879
Phone info:
- Currently using the latest (which is a little dated) MDJ Gingerbread NAND ROM
- Windows does detect the phone, in the bootloader I can get 'USB' to appear
- I can load files in windows by mounting the SD card, it will charge via USB
- I just can't get WDMC/Activsync to detect the phones, at one point it worked fine, but I used the MDJ ROM for so long and now that I am finally trying to flash something else I'm stuck
I've tried:
-Different USB cables
-Different USB ports
-Different computers
-Different phones! (I have 2 HD2's)
-Different OS's (Win 7 x64 & Win XP x64)
-Unstalling/Re-installing WDMC/Activesync
-Uninstalling USB drivers, letting OS load them again
At this point I'm ready to throw in the towel, some other threads have mentioned a 'damaged usb controller' in the phone. I've used a iGo car charger on both of these phones and hate to think they are actually damaged.
Wanted to throw this out there before I start figuring out what my next phone is going to be - hate to ditch my HD2, but I am dying to get an updated ROM loaded
Any ideas??
if you are using android have you tried htc sync for android rather than windows?
I had HTC Sync installed at one point, but honestly didn't really troubleshoot much w/ it.
Hoping this is what I need - thanks
I have exactly the same problem. please let me know if and how you resolved it...
HTC Sync will corrupt Outlook's Contacts - at least it did a couple months ago (can't say if it's been fixed or not), confirmed by HTC, but they accept no liability for any of it.
Try MyPhoneExplorer - it does more than I need, but it syncs:

Hi, myphoneexplorer works perfect. Do you have an exchange account via owa? Than just sync via internet.

no mate nothing there
Because you're trying to sync your Android phone using Microsoft's ActiveSync
It also depends on your build, if you want to use the sd card a pop up notification should be there for you.

i want to use sd card but nothing pops up on android r my pc it just chargers and even when i restart the phone and just have windows on and still then Microsoft's ActiveSync dont pick it up.
Microsoft isn't supposed to pick it up, because you're running Android. It will only, And only, pick it up if you were running Windows Mobile. Please mention your Build's details.
android 2.2
build number 2.09.405.8CL218634 release-keys
software number
froyostone sense
it is a sense froyo rom then. if you're running Windows XP then you should probably try installing HTC Sync off their website, otherwise Windows 7 should install the required drivers automatically.
I downloaded HTC sync and it just says no device connected dunno if it my phone or PC but its weird cos it charging up when connected
When you first plugged your device into usb you sure you didn't get a pop-up on your phone? And you've pressed charge only? In deviCe manager in windows is your phone there?
