My vibrant will not work right at all at first it did now all it does when i turn it on after start up and it staying on the galaxy s screen for what seems forever. It then seems to load the home screen which is only showing a black screen and the top status bar and nothing else and keeps restarting it self and never shows the home screen at all and i pull the battery and it keeps doing the same thing over and over again. And after it does this i goes to a total black screen and the keys light up and then starts all over again. How can i fix this or is my phone now bricked thanks to the 2.2 update?
Power your phone off
Plug USB into PC
Hold down on the Volume Buttons (both of them)
Plug the usb into the phone
Then read up on this thread and ODIN back to stock
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=848737
Your just stuck in a boot loop .. if you cant get to download mode as described above ..pull everything out Sim, Battery, sdcard, Plug usb into pc, hold down volume keys, plug usb into phone, put battery in...should be in download mode, let go of volume keys
The thread title, Bricked vibrant after 2.2 update now not working at all, is misleading when referring to being stuck in a boot loop.
The above steps will get you out of your boot loop.
Same thing happened to me. I fixed it by wiping data in recovery mode and rebooting.
You shouldn't even need to odin for that, just reflash the last rom in cwm.

there is a chance if you installed clockwork rom recovery before ,m just (vol up vol down + power(let go after 5sec) it will take u in to recovery if u had it installed before no need to odin if so if u didnt have clockwork installed before its time to boot odin 1.7 and load thoise files u are without any choice if so , you could also just wipe cache parition and factory reset from stock recovery i doubt it will help u give it a shot before tearin this phone with odin

Ok so I flashed the new Froyo ROM(The Mapped one) to my vibrant, and then I used clockwork to restore to R3 Froyo back up. Now my system will not boot past the Vibrant/Galaxy load screen. I noticed before that I was able to get into the clockwork recovery from the base recovery system, but I think the update.zip to boot is gone.
What I am trying to figure it is if there is any way to access the internal memory through the regular recovery to replace the update.zip file so I can wipe and redo the back up rom.
Ok so NOW I think Im bricked, my phone is showing a Phone symbol followed by an yellow triangle with a "!" inside the middle then a PC symbol.
Sorry guys, I found a good thread informing me of how to undo what was wrong by flashing the OEM Firmware through Odin. With the PDA symbols on your system, I pulled the battery out and disconnect the phone and plugged the phone back in. Once you plug the phone in, it will automatically boot up so I just held the power button for a second and held the volume buttons in and manage to get into download mode to flash the odin firmware.
The phone was working fine until recently it started rebooting automatically ever 2-3 hours...I didn't do anything about it and now it boot loops at startup
It's different from other problems as phone boot loops in download or recovery mode so i can't flash a new ROM or a official ROM. Phone is rooted and out of warranty so I'm not sure if i can give to the samsung service centre.
This may sound stupid but i think maybe the power button has been pushed a little deep and hence the phone reboots continously...but not sure of this...any way of removing it and inserting it back..
Or my phone is just bricked
Sorry if repost i tried searching but no results came with our phone
Flash fresh stock ROM via odin. For instructions and your firmware pack go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1465800
Then root your phone and reflash your ROM, Kernel bla bla bla.
There is no possiblity that a phone will boot loop in download mode..
U sure u in download mode.??
That is power+ vol DOWN + menu button.?
** rooting is new for me,
nd i am a noob to root....**

yep i go in download mode and i press the up button (it takes few sconds for it to reboot). After this, screen goes black....
If i dont press any button..same thing happens...
@Uchooseme...i can't flash anything..as i cant remain in download mode...
I removed the battery and sdcard from the phone last night, and kept it that way.
In the morning when i booted the phone it stuck at "galaxy y" screen(no boot loop)[I had to press power button].
so i went in download mode and this time it worked(meaning no black screen)
then i went to recovery mode and did default wipe and cache wipe..rebooted the phone again..
while rebooting it showed something like this
"...log_files_...cant find dbRbooting\..." [...] something was wriiten but i could only glance the screen for few secs so couldn't make out what was written
-After this i thought maybe i should insert sdcard and then boot the phone. So i inserted the sdcard and booted.
-There it was again the boot loop. I didnt even press power button, the phone started as soon as battery was inserted
-The phone started and then restarted.(from galaxy y screen to black screen and back again to galaxy y..goes on like this)
-when it restarts (i.e. from galaxy y screen to black screen) i went to recovery mode but as soon i select wipe cache, it restarted again.
-Then to download mode..as soon as i tried pressing UP button...black screen(don't rember if it restarted atuo or i had to press power button but definitely the "downloading..." screen didnt appear)
I again removed the battery n sdcard (this time for 5 mins around)
-Again the phone stuck at logo screen (this time when i inserted the batery the phone didnt start automatically but i had to press power button)
-Without inserting the sdcard i went to download mode and flashed >>> S5360_DDLF2_ODDLF1_DDLF1_wipe_by_SplitFUS2 (the file i had used earlier while installing ussr i guess)
-This time it went thorugh the logo screen and the "samsung animation" came.....but the it rebooted again..went like this 3-4 times and went off
- now when i start it,it automatically goes to recovery mode and shuts off (doesnt restart)
[Only thing i can see here apart from the recovery options is ----applying Multi CSC----
Copied the default wallpaper file](in blue color and the bottom)

The only way I could get it to work was the following; however there is one thing to try before you try my way because mine did this also - after the wipe and flash with flashtool etc. The only way I found to get out the bootloop was to do a factory restore after when its looping. So from the boot screen loop hold the power button until it goes off then on then off again.
Then do the process to get into the recovery so hold down and power then release power as soon as the lg logo appears (first one) then press it again immediately that SHOULD get ya to the grey factory reset screen. Press the power button 3 x and it should do a factory restore and boot up this time. First boot may take a minute it should eventually start up.
Failing that try this - Open the lg mobile support tool and connect the phone in download mode (volume up and power with plugged in usb on mine) then go to options and upgrade recovery. it will download a file usually about 2GB then install it, the phone will reboot at 100% on the phone and 80ish% on the lg tool it will then start into the setup feature,
DO NOT disconnect the phone until it gets to 100% and finishes. This way you shouldn't need to do an extra factory reset.
I understand for this the phone needs to be seen on com 4 (it shows on the phone screen) so if necessary go into device manager with the phone still plugged in in download mode and select com ports then select the phone com port then right click >properties> advanced and change the com port to 4. It may tell u its already being used but don't worry it is fine. Save and exit device manager.
please bare in mind these are just my experiences on MY LG D802 however its worked every single time for me without fail and ive done it a good few lol.

I had the same issue. I believe it was a bad MD5. Although I know you can adb command from a PC, I had just recently deleted all of my drivers to get into a couple of nexus 7's.keep trying the volume down and power key the correlation seems to be if you can hit it right as it boots. I made it back to the factory data reset screen hit power through and dropped into TWRP.
I'm not sure how much you know or if you've ever had to boot through the factory reset screen but it does NOT actually reset your device rather is the push to your recovery.
Good luck,

I have done that sevral times now before it did go into that recovery twrp but not when I do it it goes into fastboot everytime , its like it has wiped twrp off the phone and no recovery , even used fastboot on pc to boot into it and it wont just goes back to fast bootscreen
you should be able to still get recovery -switch off phone, press vol down and power button at the same time as soon as you see the lg logo press the same combination again and hopefully it will go to a white screen with factory reset press the button I think 3 times and it will take you thru to twrp it may take a few tries but if u get the combo right it will work -if not you may have to go to the thread in xda g2 forum and im afraid learn how to restore your phone to factory state again which is a pain in the a**e but make sure you have all the necessary drivers installed as that will not work properly either-hopefully you can get back into recovery and restore your back up-good luck!
I flashed xposed framework. It booted a few times crashed and then I could still get to recovery twrp. I then flashed the original rom I was using it booted up and started completely but again crashed. So I booted recovery and flashed the original rapture 5.1.1 rom and it booted completely but after a few minutes it also crashed.
After that I was in a bootloop. In a weird way I'd have to take out the battery wait a few minutes then the power button would work (on battery). It'd try to boot vibrate, show the samsung note 4 letters and then shutdown.
Weird part is if I plug the wall charger in it just vibrates and tries to boot indefinitely. If I long hold the power button nothing happens. If I pull the usb cable out it cuts power even though I have a fully charged battery.
I've flashed twrp reovery via odin first, no luck. I've flashed the original cod6 firmware without luck. Then the original kernel and recovery. Nothing seems to work. Is my power button dead. My problems are similar to this also but it worked fine before I flashed xposed framework wanam.
http://forums.androidcentral.com/sa...battery-then-turns-off-after-two-seconds.html
The reason I think it might not be the power switch is if I take out the battery wait 15 and plug it back in the phone does not auto restart itself. I have to hold the power button to start it. After Odin flash of COD6 firmware I only get to recovery img message at the top and then it turns off.
Very similar to this problem
http://forums.androidcentral.com/sa...k-recovery-booting-screen-how-can-i-past.html
flash stock recovery, twrp, cwm recovery and still can't get to it. Only thing I haven't flashed it the modem.
Thanks for any replies
Sounds like a hardware r
Problem if odin is not flashing correctly and it has done correctly in the past. I had similar but could boot into download mode and flash nut it failed flashing . Had to reflash root, then reflash a stock rom which boot looped, then root, then flash recovery, then flashed a custom rom cmw2.1 which worked. Then to male sure I reflashed origianl 5.0 rom which then worked. Then started again rooting recovery and flash cm12.1 and all is fine. As long as u have download mode there should be a way to fix it try my method as I thought I had a paper weight for about 3 hours while I figured out the above.
Thanks
Steve

Thanks I will try, I've tried everything odin cod6, cog2, bootloader, baseband, rom, kernel, flash reports good now but still bootloop, even tried Kies3, it completely said everything is good rebooted and just booted at the top left saying recovery... booting then shuts off.
Really weird part is as soon plug power to micro usb port it starts booting without me pressing any buttons?
First thing I do if it goes wrong is reflash original stock rom to create a clean sheet. I always find the simplest solution is usually the best, f
Aching modems, kernels, well u know what windows is like with registry errors cross link .dll files. Like with windows keep backups and reload and start afresh sometimes going too deep to fix something can make it worse :s
Yea it shouldn't boot just from inserting power cable it should goto charge screen.. If charge screen is corrupt then that could explain why It boots to go to charge screen but can't so hence the behavior. Makes sense to me .
Thanks
Steve
