It has not yet been leaked.
It looks awesome, I can't wait... and it has been leaked, it's been leaked for week or so.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=567821
there's already a dump leaked from the motorola sholes phone that's running eclair (2.0) but it hasn't been ported. (or should I say hasn't been released because drizzy already ported it) Drizzy mentioned that it's just plain android 2.0 with no overlayer such as touchflo, or blur
dam u beat me 2 it lol
Yeah Maxisma did the dump of it on this thread. They're working on a port and development. I can't wait.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=567821
i am pretty excited, 2.0 looks fly. really hope cyanogen gets on the case.
these screenshots are from the motorola droid, as u can see in the model info. Drizzy tweeted this last night sayin if someone can get him the dump that he'd port it. Now I see what he was talkin bout with droid... google's finally tagging along with motorola and htc with the social integration but of course it's NOTHING compared to blur or even hero. it looks real weak with only facebook?? wow. but it's a start. this looks somewhat plain but knowing this is from a moto phone that's probably not even the stock 2.0.
It's sorta weird having 1.6 released and then 2.0 pretty quickly afterwards. Maybe Google never plans on releasing an official 2.0 for the Dream/Sapphire and 1.6 was it's last update?

Most likely, cuz the g1 had issues about whether 1.6 would even be on it... so with this update they're making sure that people will be ready for buying more new phones I guess
Cooooooooooool! This is a huge step
I'm very impressed at how big a jump 1.6 and 2.0 is, do wants that maps and Car Home, heres hoping Sholes goes GSM with T-mobile 3g (one can dream)
Looks sweet!
if you all are impresssed with the screenshots check out the boot animation on this thing it pretty nice:
http://phandroid.com/2009/10/15/motorola-droid-boot-video/
Hope is that Cyanogen can move this one along. I for one really like the Facebook integration.
Also, randomly on my wish list is a Reply button always on the Gmail app, or chance to customize which 3 buttons are at the bottom of the Gmail app when viewing a message.
I'm hoping that Google streamlined the code from 1.6-2.0 so overall there won't be any major space/performance issues.

This explains the lack of updates form many devs in regards to 1.6, they all probably figured it a waste of time with 2.0 right around the bend.
Very excited to see what happens in the coming weeks.

Probably because, in reality, 1.6 is 1.5 with some minor bugfixes and universal search.

Google was saying themselves that they weren't sure at first whether they would release a 1.6 OTA update for the G1... but then their developers got it smaller to G1 size. not that it matters for us cuz we can get it whether they release it or not thanks to these awesome devs
Word on Droid X getting Gingerbread?
Anyone hear anything recently about gingerbread on the droid x...its been rumored for a while now any idea if and when we are supposed to get the update??
I just went around today looking for just that news, and found a few sites over just the past two days.
First, they say VZW has gotten moto's GB build, and that seems to be confirmed over the various sites. Soooo super exciting!
Not so exciting part? The very next day, many of these sites say it was denied, as VZW is wont to do it seems, and we are looking at another 4 weeks or so.
Let's hope for April! I have been waiting to root, but it seems every time I am about to do it, moto comes with the official next version, so I continue waiting!
Ive heard its as far away as 6 weeks but who knows

Sounds like P3Droid got his hands on the final build of GB for the X, D2, and D2G tonight. Also sounds like maybe this weekend/week rollout rumor was correct!
he got his hands on 3.4.2 blur....not gingerbread i am running on my phone right now and if thats all were getting prepare to be disappointed..dont get me wrong there are improvements but not enough to really wow you..everything just runs faster, a couple apps have been edited, and you can have a work, weekend, and home profile kinda like the droid pro..nothing major oh and longer battery life but nothing really excites u that much

It hasn't been released yet, even in the TBH app. Be patient.
(Can't post outside links yet, so just see p3droid's latest tweet for the link described below.)
The above link was tweeted by P3droid as the prerelease thread until it's gone public.

If you want DroidX gingerbread hot out of the oven, get the TBH app. The release will be exclusive to paying supporters for a few days, at least.
do i have to update the tbh appp to get it?
P3droid's latest tweet said there will be a GB release today

Have they been able to root it yet?
Sounds exciting
lol i just bricked my DX thinking about it..time to get my battery charge at VZW..I hope the release is tomorrow, perfect way to end a busy Monday ..
Just curious..in the pictures I see a Froyo kernel, isn't gingerbread suppose to have a more updated kernel? like 2.6.35 or something??
u have to remember this isnt the actual gingerbread its a lkeaed version im sure motorola's final version will have an updated kernal and I really hope they decide to drop the bootlaoder!
lol oh ok... I hope so too..usually these leaks are a sign, never the less it already has a new kernel, but based on 2.2 if I'm correct..
No new bootloader. That would only come from VZW in an official update.zip file.
No root yet for consumer hardware either...we are hoping that getting this out may help find a solution.
i really really want p3droid to release this thing onto TBH!
im here trying to recover my DX via ghetto charging..lol,,dont know if its working..phone still off..anyone kno where i could get some instructions for this?

I would love to see that on my Atrix. Look at how fast it made that Droid!.

Yeah motoblur up until that sucks. This actually looks decent and seems quick.
I still have a Droid X my kids use for watching videos and playing games and I had to do a bunch of stuff to get gingerbread on it. Once done, Gingerbread is a well polished machine by comparison to previous versions. It adds the LITTLE THINGS that iPhone users tend to enjoy. I liked it and give it a big thumbs up.
my motoblur work like that...but......and with live wallpaper??? still fast or like a cheat?

Wow... Can't wait for this. Blurified gingerbread seems nice. A lot better than the ugly stock theme from 2.1/2.2.
Made that DX scream.
:O i want it!
i made that Droid X fast on a single core processor imagine on our dual core!
i got to say one thing tho. the dock was kind of motoblurs trade mark. its 3 little green white and blue icons, now gone...
OH WELL LET ME HAVE THAT 2.3 MOTOBLUR!
lol

I didnt post what you quoted so I cant speak for him but I will elaborate, slightly. I have gingerbread CM7 on the Captivate and there are several things I like about it.
First and formost, and this is petty, the screen does the "crt monitor" screen on/off effect animation thingy. Its superficial, but awesome. There are several other interface changes that are an improvement imo.
Secondly, native wifi internet calling via SIP. It still takes some setting up and know how but you only have to read to learn.
Of course there are "speed" improvement like always.
Theres a Download (manager) app.
Finally, security. You probably read about that already.
Can the new moto blur for android 2.2 be ported over from the droid x2 to the atrix. I hear the new blur on the x2 was more stable and much faster. There was also a system dump release for the droid x2.

uuh.... isn't the Droid X2 also a Gingerbread phone... which could account for the extra smoothness of Blur?

You should look up the specs before you make assumptions...
http://www.motorola.com/Consumers/U...bile-Phones/ci.DROID-X2-by-MOTOROLA-US-EN.alt
OPERATING SYSTEM
Android 2.2 (FroYo)
I'm just going by what i heard.... which i think was what someone said in another thread on these forums. Why didn't i take the time to look up the specs before asking my QUESTION? Because the Droid X2 is a Verizon phone. I don't use Verizon. Hence have hardly any interest in the phone.

Yeah, but it's a Motorola Phone... shouldn't matter what carrier it's on... I had the original Droid X when it came out cus ATT sucked with their choice of Android phones... fan of technology not fan of companies...
Sometimes I can be blunt with my responses.. don't take it the wrong way... was just making a point...
Well yea.... AT&T's choice of Android phones did suck until recently. That's why i went from an iPhone 3GS to an iPhone 4 until the Atrix came out. Though while i liked Android... didn't really feel like switching carriers for it.... so i didn't really bother with the Droid/Droid X/ Droid 2, etc...
Yep, what sort of bongo company releases a second high end phone with an outdated system, oh wait it can only be moto!
Motorolafirst Android 4.0 updates have yet to roll out, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get an official look at what the Ice Cream Sandwich build for the Motorola RAZR will look like. Motorola Japan has put up an Android 4.0 page on its site, giving consumers a preview of Motorola’s Android 4.0 customization and the new Webtop 3.0 UI.
We’ve seen several leaks of Moto’s ICS build in the past, and it doesn’t look like much has changed. Last time we checked, the Verizon DROID RAZR and RAZR MAXX were scheduled to receive their Android 4.0 update before the end of Q2. That gives Motorola roughly five more weeks to deliver the update. Once the RAZR is updated to Android 4.0, updates for the BIONIC, ATRIX and DROID 4 should trickle out in quick succession.
Take a look at the 15 videos below
Source : AndroidAndMe
That looks really clean, almost vanilla ICS. If its as good as those videos make it look, and we get webtop 3, I think I'll have a reason to leave CM9... at least until Jellybean comes out.

I was thinking the same. I like the new UI and the lock screen I think I will leave cm9 when it's released.

That does look pretty good and the UI feels like stock ics.
So its seems to be true that Moto ditched Blur fpr good now...i like that almoat Vanilla ICS feel.

The backlight dimmer control alone would keep me on CM.
Think anyone will be awesome enough to do a stock debloat, deodex, unlock, root etc version? After my time on nottachtrix im pretty impressed. Especially with battery life.

I would agree. The whole webtop idea has gone in completely the wrong direction in my opinion. Most people seemed to want something closer to a full Linux environment, while Moto has just given us a useless tablet view with 3.0.
With so little additions to the vanilla look, I still don't understand why it takes them so much longer to update their phone compared to Samsung and HTC...
This webtop IMO sucks.. why can`t we just get a decent port of Precise Penguin onto the phone?

Just **** to cover their ''do all evil possible'' on Android.
What's the point of webtop again? I never understood how it's useful if you're just hooking it up to a laptop which already has something like windows installed on it.

The only thing webtop is doing is delaying the release of the ICS even more. Other than that, it's useless.
