Because the stock supplied one is too small for my music and I want to get a bigger SD card. Does the GT540 work with a SDHC card?

Thanks very much
Also make sure you get a higher class SDHC for improved read and write speeds.
Class 4 minimum.
I've got a 8gb Class 2, and I think Class 2 is enough, I don't there's a noticable difference to a Class 4 card

Just wondering if anyone knew what brands work better than others. I recently put a Patriot 8GB class 4 in my N1 and it causes massive stability problems under read/write access to the SD card. Usually results in a freeze then reboot. Can anyone reccomend a more suitable brand?? thanks!
I don't think it is as important on the nexus as it was on say a G1 ot MT3G. Unless you are still running a2sd. Obviously the higher the card's class, the faster your transfer will be. I would still stick to the higer class cards. Transcend and Sandisk both make really good class 6 cards.

The 4GB that came with the nexus was a Sandisk Class 2. the class 4 patriot doesnt really seem to make a difference in speed, so I just should have stuck with the original brand
I currently have a 2Gb class 2 micro sd card.
What is the best class and size for speed and battery consumption?
I was thinking about something like this class 10 card: http://www.mymemory.co.uk/SDHC/Transcend/Transcend-8GB-SD-Card-(SDHC)---Class-10-
Anyone know if there are any fast low power cards that will work effectively?
Class 6 is enough. Just buy a Sandisk or some other reputable brand

isnt it possible to put the android rom on the mobile memory directly to improve speed'n stuff ?
The card you are looking at is an SD. You need a microSD.

Hi,
I have class 4 SD card m running Pda's win7.8 rom. the problem I m facing is its lagging and slow then I did a benchmark test using free benchmark app everything is perfect except the write speed which is just 2.1 something, I know it may be a problem of SD card though wanted to know is there any tweak to speed it up through registry or app like andoirds have?
thankyou
no... buy better card...

thankyou..
someone write this list but also many others cards is fine
Kingston 4GB Class 4
Kingston 8GB Class 4
Kingston 32GB Class 4
Microcenter 16GB Class 2
SanDisk 8 GB Class 2
SanDisk 16 GB Class 2
SanDisk 16 GB Class 6
SanDisk 32 GB Class 2
i have SanDisk 32 GB Class 2 and speed is around 8 mb/s
Slower card makes
you wait longer,
gets your cpu hotter,
your battery drain faster,
lags the phone,
slow responses of your phone,
Go buy yourself a class10 SD card!
Believe me, if i knew the diffrence, i would buy it 3 years ago...
Thank-you dxdy and stealth21
will buy new SD and report back
I am planning to buy Sandisk Ultra 16 GB (Class 10) SD card.
Can I use it to run CM7 from it?
Will this be better choice over Class 4 as Class 6 is not available?

Ordinarily the SanDisk class 4 is the SD of choice. That is because it has superior small file read/write speeds to higher class SDs. The one you are asking about is relatively new and I don't know if many have tried to see how well it works. Look at this thread to see why most recommend the class 4:

So Sandisk cl 4 is enough for running cm 7 from it.(I asked the question because I wanted to be clear wether the UI would be snappy with class 4).
Thank you for saving me some
I honestly can't tell any difference in running from emmc or a Sandisk Class 4... in terms of UI responsiveness..

Sandisk doing better than Samsung in SD, for higher performance, i use Sandisk UHS-I 8GB SD.
I used both NativeSD and DataonExt. My Scandisk Ultra 16G work fine.
Sandisk 10 class with UHS - hd2 incompatible
I tested 2 microsd cards(I bought in one place at once) with 2 different hd2.
first card worked with bouh hd2, but only 1-2 days => after freeze.
second card freezed at boot always, on both phones.
MD5 checksum was identical for both cards.
Both cards work very quickly with other devices without glitches.
Now i use 4.2.2 with transcend 10 class without UHS. HD2 is fast now, more than ever... A1 SD Bench: 18.9mb/s read, 10.5mb/s write.

I would strongly suggest checking out this thread.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1947560
My SanDisk 32gb class 6 card reads about 10mbs higher than yours. My suspicion is that it's your buffer size that needs to be adjusted, but that thread is one of the best resources for optimizing you're card.

Do you test speed by "SD Tools" ? In this programm my transcend show 33mb/s, but it's cached speed, i saw same speed on 2 class card.
I agree what sandisk very fast. But cards with UHS not worked with my both hd2(512mb EU and RU versions )
SDTools seems to be the XDA standard from most when testing you're SD card. I find it very accurate and reliable.
