Gday all im a bit lost in the android forums so im just going to do a noob thing and ask for some assistance, thanks.
I just installed the "[30 DEC][DFT]LEO "Stock Desire" NAND Android ROM" rom over top of my last rom from WINMO, which was the Energy jan 6 rom.
I also installed the latest Radio "Radio_Leo_2.15.50.14" and HSPL3 along with "MAGLDR112" everything went sweet upon install, so i have no real questions regarding that but im wondering how i can boot back into WINMO if its possible?
If i reboot the phone it just auto loads into Android.
Also i would like to know what the best Android rom is for reliability and secondly how would i update the roms as new version are released?
I think thats about it for now, the rom in currently using feels smooth and great the apps work fine but it feels a little locked down compared to the WINMO but it hasnt crashed on me in the past day which WINMO would have by now, lol.
To flash back winmo, simply go into bootloader/tri color screen. This is done by holding vol down, then powering up.
I'm not going to answer which is the "best" android rom, as that has been asked many times, where there are many answers for, so, search it up.
Updating differs. If it uses daf.exe/install.exe, it's that same as how you flashed android for the first time, however sometimes you can't retain your settings. Clockwork mod flashing however, is unbeknown to me, haven't tried it yet, sorry.
Thanks for that, so what would i need to do to backup my settings and info on the Android just incase i reinstall it just say?
Also if i back to the bootloader would that mean ill have to reinstall a winmo rom?
Then if so would it only boot into WINMO and not android?
Secondly how would i be able to reboot into android again?
I guess im asking is there a way to dual boot and whats the best way about doing it?

r u being jackass?u have to flash stock wm rom first.ok then u can flash any custom rom.
ok use titenium backup to backup ur android settings abd appp..
ok and after winmo if u want dual boot u have to install sd android build to ur sd card
Why would i want to be a jackass?
Yeah i come on here to troll these forums to post noob questions for ****s and giggles, are you such a person who angers over someone who clearly doesnt know what he is doing and yet you think im being a jackass (god i hate that word, lol never used down here though).
I hope i clearly posted im the OP on how and what i installed but now im lost, i have android working fine but i dont know how to back any data up just incase i do an update or even flash back to stock rom and maybe come back to android later and hope to reuse the backed up data from the android rom.
It took me about a year to get used to WINMO and learning how to install a custom rom on it but now i thought i give android a go and i managed to follow the steps without any issues (yes there were a few more steps i needed to do than i did need to do for a custom rom for WINMO) but now that i have it running i just want to know what to do to get WINMO back on and preferably getting WINMO and android working side by side.
I know how to flash custom roms in WINMO but im just wondering if there was a way for me to be able to boot back into winmo while i have android installed, all i want is to be pointed into the right direction or shown a link to a walkthrough or just given a point form reply as to the process on what and what not ill be able to keep and the best way in doing so.
So from your reply i gather ill need to install android to my SDcard and not the phone memory in order to run WINMO and Android together am i correct?
If so then because i use the ENERGY ROMS i can boot to android from within the ENERGY ROM, am i correct? i think NRG did something with android in his roms.
I am really sorry if i have upset anyone (above) but i am really lost with this, yes i pretty much understood custom roms in WINMO but with this i just did it spontaneously VERY VERY late last night and i wasnt thinking straight i just gave it a shot, so i put myself in the deep end and now im very confused with getting it back to normal as such thats all.
Worst case would i just be able to reformat the SD and then boot to 4 colour screen and just do my custom WINMO install as per usual or would i have to install the stock rom back then install the custom rom?
First of all, ignore the "jackass" above. That was just plain rude and he made himself look like a total idiot.
Secondly, if you want to backup your current Android setup, get Titanium Backup from the market. There's a batch job (click menu, batch jobs) that backs up all your apps & data and system settings. It backs it up to your SD card though, so be aware of that if you're thinking of formatting it for any reason.
Next, get the WM6.5 ROM that you want to flash (doesn't have to be a stock one). Enter the bootloader (tri-colour screen) and flash your WM ROM as normal.
Finally, when you flash a ROM onto your phone, that becomes the only OS on there. You can't switch between Android NAND and WM without flashing. You can, however, run Android from your SD card. There's a forum dedicated to that here...
HD2 Android SD Development
There's lots of info in there on how to do it, but it's basically unzip a file, copy the contents to your SD card, run 2 apps. You'll probably want to go down the route of a bootloader (not really) that runs in Windows. It lets you select Windows or Android when you reboot. They too can be found in that same forum.
That's the only way you can switch between Windows and Android on a regular basis, without flashing a new ROM.
Hope this helps
Thank you very much it has cleared allot up for me, now i know that because i flashed android on the phone its the only OS i can use, i didnt know that TBH.
So yes thanks again and ill do it the SD way and try my luck with that.
One more small thing, how do i go with updating the current android rom im using (if it were to be updated), does it work in a similar process as WINMO custom roms and their updates?
Again i much appreciate the reply, it has helped already.

Generally, you flash an updated ROM the same way you flash the original ROM. There are backup options like Titanium Backup or ClockWork Mod (if the ROM supports it), so you can get everything back up and running again.
My friend was trying install android on his hd2 and he clicked on haret first and he pulled the battery out of his phone and now he cant get it to turn on is there any fix for it?
check for bent battery pin
Can u access bootloader ?
If yes than u can reflash the ROM back.
How can i flash roms from the bootloader?
phone in bootloader - connect usb cable - when serial changes to usb, run your flash.
well we just had it booted by pushing the soft reset button and it booted up to winmobile and he shut it off and now he cant get it to go into the bootloader or turn on
Edit: it turned on again and also this is a unlocked running on At&t
well is he trying to run both winmo and android or making it a strictly android phone?
i dont know much about WM since im an android user but he running android off the sdcard for some reason the phone will turn on but when it shuts off it wont turn on he messed up and didnt run CLRCAD first and he ran the Herat first and it made the phone not want to boot up all the time
1st of all your friend need to decide what he wants, either windows or android.
what's the poit to start qindows and than boot into android?
he neet to flash the sys properly and not start from sd card.once the system is in flash u have stable sys,win or android.
so if he decide to go with android just go to Android NAND section.

Do you think the world has to be either fully android or fully win mobile? I think not. I use both and want both. And NAND is NOT fully stable either.

Phone will turn or or it won't turn on? Which is it? Are you saying it won't boot to winmo or it won't boot to android? If you remove the sd card does the phone boot to winmo? With the phone completely off what happens when you push the button to turn on the phone? You need to better explain your issue and what is actually happening. Cramming vague info into one super long sentence does not help you.
The reason were doing it this way is because hes not very smart at messing with this kind of stuff thats how he got his phone to not turn back on for some reason. Like when it turned off he couldnt get it to turn back on we both thought it was bricked but i started looking around posted on here and we push the soft reset button on the back of the phone and now it turns on but sometimes it wont its weird
Am I the only one who don't know what the hell is going on ?
I had this when trying to run SD card builds. Every rom every winmo rom, every radio, always the same,,, 99% of the time it screwed the winmo install and had to hard reset.
tried a few times for several hours to fault find, never solved it. All hail nand!
I still don't have a clue. If you are not smart enough to install an sd build (copy and paste) I sure as hell don't know how someone is going to go through all that for NAND builds. And the whole problem just might be that the call end/power button is defective.
Whatever this way is then good luck.
just install a stock rom going into bootloader choose accordingly depending on the hd2 version euro512 or t mobile 1024 via active sync or sd card method
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=653614(for t mobile 1024)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=609477(for 512 leo)
when u finish installing either stick to windows mobile or go for nand accordingly as stated in the link or this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=981811
be aware of what hd2 version u have and install accordingly the hspl.
hope this helps.
Unable to load American Android 2.3 on HTC HD2.
Downloaded the American Android 2.3 for TMOUS->Extracted Android folder to blank SD card /sdcard/Android->Opened up file manager on HTC HD2 /sdcard/Android and ran clrcad.exe got the untrusted popup clicked okay->Ran haret.exe got popup again clicked okay then saw a few white command lines (maybe 5) then the green HTC logo appears and sits there for ever. I let it sit for 30 min and no change had to pull the battery and restart windows. Phone is up to date only difference might be is it has been unlocked through T-Mobile. Does anyone know how to avoid this?
Ergh
I even tried HSPL3 and that didn't help... I just want the American Android 2.3 Gingerbread to load on my HTC HD2.. WTF!
Im having the same problem as well. I did the fat32 primary partition, on a clean sd card, ill wait for 30 minutes before i give up. some one please help, i got the desire hd rom running but would like to see what the gingerbread 2.3.3 is like.
Did you flash a new radio rom?
SO, you are going from WIn 6.5 to Android just by haret ? You cannot
If I was you I would start all over flashing HSPL 3, then flash Radio 2.15, then install Magldr 1.3, then copy the zip file to sd card and install. It's as easy as drinking a glass of water.
Be sure you chose SPL 2.08.HSPL and NOT SPL 2.80 when you flash HSPL 3

Ok first off what valv507 is mistakenly thinking you are trying to run Andriod from NAND. When you flashed MAGLDR you wiped your ROM from your HD2. This is why you can not get past MAGLDR it needs a ROM to boot.
You will have to reinstall your Windows Mobile ROM (hope you dide not loose too much data ) make sure it is a 3.14 ROM as they are the best for running Android from SD. Also make sure you have the 2.15.50.14 radio or atleast the 2.14.50.02 radio, the 2.15.50.14 radio is the best though. Also reformat your SD card again but use the Panisonic software to format it as most people say it is better than the Windows software. You can download it here. Make sure you do a full wipe and format using Fat 32. Then place all of your files and stuff from your back up back on your SD card including your Adroid build. then try to boot the Android again.
Put your HD2 into bootloader to reflash your Win Mo ROM. Hold down the volume down button while powering on your HD2 to get to bootloader and make sure you see USB in the white bar of bootloader before you flash the ROM.

What if I just want to run Android from NAND? At this point I just want to flash Gingerbread 2.3 on there but want the best version of that with the fewest bugs. Do you have any links to such a ROM? How would I go about flashing it? Thank you for the help in advance.
If you do a YouTube search you cab find a "how to install " video for installing NAND Android GB 2.3.2 on the HD2, it also has links to ROMs, Radios and MAGLDR 1.13. I installed it in about 15 mins after d/ling the specified files and I have only had a HD2 for 3 days. Very good video. I would link you to it but I am at work right now and I have the page saved to face on my home PC

If you want to go NAND Android just click on thr guide linked in my signature. I have links to two of the best guides on how to install NAND Android on your HD2 at the top of my guide. My guide is not a guide on how to install NAND Android but a guide to teach you what the things you need to install and run Android from NANN and WP7 are, what they do, and how to install them.
Also I use a non HTC Sense Gingerbread ROM and I really like it click the link for Hyperdroid in my signature if you want to check it out.

What exactly are you asking here? Do youi want to know how to enter bootloader?
If so you just hold your volume down button down while powering on your HD2, this brings up the multicolor bootloader screen. From bootloader you can connect your HD2 to your computer wait for Serial to change to USB and then flash what ever you are wanting to flash radio, Windows Mobile ROM, splash screen, MAGLDR, and cLK. Click on my guide in my signature to get even more knowledge.
it is possilbe to have magldr installed running whatever NAND os you want.. and still boot ACA from sdcard.
the first post of the ACA thread has all the details you need to accomplish this.

to run it from nand you go to 10 services, than boot settings ,than select android sd ,than go to 10 again than select boot settings ad sd dir than select the android folder make sure there is not another folder named android, than go to ad sd nand and it will load. it tooked 15 minutes but he did say it would take long.
I took the same steps as the OP did and I'm experiencing the same problem. I am not planning to go through NAND and would like to stick with the SD build but it will not load. Any suggestions?
I'm using the latest American android build. Here is what I did:
1. Copy ENTIRE android folder to sd. If you want a faster boot time you need to copy over a new data image since one is not included in this build. It will create one on first boot, but this takes longer.
2. Once you've done this run clrcad then haret and allow it to boot. Mine took about 15 min total boot time to first lock screen without a data img. And about 7 to 10 min with.
3. Once you see the first screen DO NOT touch it. Let it settle for about 10 min. After that it should shut it self down.
4. Turn phone back on and boot android again. Letting it settle again for a few minutes. After 5 or 10 min of letting it settle pick it up and enjoy your sexy gingerbread.
Also, on a side not magldr is used for booting from wp7 to android. Haret is what is used for booting android from wm6.5
Hope this helped.

Hello all. I just got a HTC HD2 from a friend. It has Windows running on it and then he put android 2.2. Well had gave it to me today and said that when he wiped the info on it today for some reason it wiped the bootloader and now instead of asking which OS I want to run when I start the phone it goes straight to Window. From there I have to manually go to the SDCard and launch it.
How do I fix this issue?
I want to put the Android OS on the Phone rather than the SDCard, is there a simple way to do this at the same time?
And I want to put a new rom anyways on the phone at some point. I rather have Gingerbread running on it, would there be an option to fix this all at once?
I understand the phone to a degree and how it works but rather new to how to do all this at once or in the right order, and what to look for.
ANY HELP WOULD BE AMAZING!!! I need to get this phone up and running by the end of the day. Thanks again.

Or should I just do the "Flashing Your First HD2 NAND Android Rom"? I am assuming that this will redo everything my friend did and also put it on my NAND? And it will be the latest version?
I need more feedback guys, I don't want to brick the phone, in what order should I proceed?

I bought an HTC HD2 a few days ago, (not a new one) And it was installed with UltimateDroid, I don't really like this version, and Sense doesn't work on it, so I was wondering if I can delete it, and how.
And if I delete it, Will my phone automatically run Windows mobile?
I'm new to this and this is my first time with android and htc, So I don't know anything about it.
Hope someone can help..
You have to flash a new rom using AD Recovery Tool
Easiest thing for you to do would be to start from scratch or follow this guide. You shouldn't need to do step 1 and you will already have the prerequisites. This is for Android, not WinMo.
For WinMo, download a ROM and flash it from bootloader. See the Windows Mobile dev stickies for detailed instructions (you will be able to ignore the HSPL part.)

Dual boot is possible, WinMo on NAND, Android from SD, you can even have Ubuntu Linux on SD at the same time for triple boot.
To wipe data if you plan on going back to Windows Mobile on NAND, just flash a Windows Mobile ROM at the tri-color bootloader screen (boot the device up while holding the vol - key)
If you have Android on NAND, and want to keep Android but just want to wipe data, there's an option for that in CWM Recovery.
If you have WinMo on NAND, and just want to do a data wipe/factory reset, power on while holding both volume keys and follow the on-screen prompt
If you want to format your NAND memory, there is a tool called task 29, but it's not necessary.
If you're asking whether you can run both Windows Mobile and Android from NAND, no. It's one or the other

Sorry for the late reply, I want Android with sense! I have no experience with flashing roms etc. Never done anything like it before.
OK really first do you have magLDR or cLK ... when you turn on phone does it immediately go to boot screen or do you see some running script followed by 1,2,3,4,5,6 ... go go go!
if you have go go go the simply go to the Dev forums find a rom with (magLDR) in the title and follow instructions. they almost have a link to the best recovery to use with their rom.
if you boot straight up like a native android, or you can charge your phone when its turned off you have cLK ... to the dev forums and look for (cLK) in title and again follow instructions and get to it.

It says the 1,2,3,4,5,6.. go go go! thing, but I can also choose to go to boot screen, which gives me all kinds of numbers with flash rom and stuff.
But thanks, I'll have a look!
