[Q] removing NAND - Can't go back to WiMo - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hi All,
I've seached and can't find anyone with the same problem as me. Please help.
Telstra HD2 T9193 with HSPL2.08
I was running a a nice clean wimo (OZROM) rom then decided I would give Android a Go.
I installed NAND and installed MDJ's CyanogenMod 7 v. 2.6 It all worked fantastic, but I found the battery drain a too heavy and would like to go back to WiMO 6.5.
Now according to the n00bs guide I should be able to enter the bootloader and run and custom .ruu from there (USB connected) and all will be fine.
When I try this, the screen sits a 0% until timeout.
Same happens when I try a task 29
finally if I try to flash a 6.5 ROM from the SD card, I just get the message "Loading" and nothing happens.
Any ideas? Should I try flashing back to an official ROM and then HSPL all over again? Or am I missing something?
Thanks for your help
Puff

FIXED!!!! FIXED!!!!
Strange. I had to do HSPL 2.08 AGAIN even 'tho that is what was on it. Anyway if you have this problem. HSPL again then task 29 then put your wimo ROM back on.
Might be worth adding this to mskips n00b thread.
I hope this helps others.
Cheers
Puff

wtf...going back to windows 6.5 from NAND ANDROID....omg!!
That's like owning a $50,000 BMW, then deciding to rip out the seats, rip out the air con, rip out the engine and replace it with a lawn mower engine...wtf?
each to their own i suppose. ;-)
i think i'd prob kill myself if i had to go back to windows mobile 6.5 now!!!!
lol

I'm amazed your finding battery drain worse on MDJ's CyanogenMod 7 v. 2.6 than WINMO, im quite the opposite actually.

Did you try recallibrating your battery for longer battery life as shown here?

[Q] How long should a rom install take?

Hi all. I'm a noobi trying to do this for a friend. (I have a g2 rooted and running Cyanogen, and also my old g1(RIP)) So I thought i'd do him a favor getting rid of winmo 6.5...
How long should this process take? I installed HardSPL in minutes, as well as the Leo radio, but installing this ROM (HD2ONE) is taking literally over 3 hours...?
I am getting a series of entries...
[11597.687809] microp_set_bkl (9)
[11600.297806] microp_set_bkl (9)
[11640.409605] ACR=2446 FL=1256 RAAC=38

[11941.329591] ACR=2396 FL=1256 RAAC=36
which have been moving from RAAC 75 or thereabouts...
I am afraind I made a mistake somewhere...
Is the process just running slow on this phone?
In case you're wondering... I installed radio 2.15.50.14
and DarkForces Team HardSPL3 by bepe and Cotulla...
Thanks for any feedback
Dave
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you have a problem. Or that's what I think. :X
I am wondering if something simple happened..
I just plugged in a usb charger, and the progress of the RAAC=[number] started going up?!
I think I read about a user trying to do a rom upgrade who ran out of space...
and then the messages (not the same as the ones i've been getting) indicated to someone out there that the battery was simply discharging.
if this was it... then
What is the best way to revert back for now..?
From what I'm reading you tried to flash an Android rom onto the phone to replace WM6.5, right...
If you are flashing to NAND - phone memory, then you need MAGLDR to flash otherwise it will probably be a brick...
Mind you I only glanced at this as I was running out the door to work.
Here is the post I was referring to earlier...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-817544.html
Are u sure that is it still the install process and not the first startup?
Did u use the Magldr or just booted the Android from within Win Mo?
If im not totaly wrong this shows the charge and discharge of the batterie.
So it seams only that this Rom isnt working for u. If u started it from within Winmo just shut down the phone and boot to Winmo so u could try another Android.
OK. I pulled the battery, and windows booted. Where do I get info on MAGLDR? Got a thread for me? I am trying to set this up as a boot to android only device...
Dave
Here u can find all Information to the great Magldr:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893618
And Roms for NAND flashing can be found in the Android Rom Forum.
But read carfully before just flash something to your phone
If u have problems with something u will find in this threads more than one helpfull person. So dont be shy to ask.

[Q] HELP unstable radio / network

Hi folks, Basically I want to be able to use both WinMo and Android (SD) but can't find a stable solution.
I have upgraded my WinMo to 3.14.xxxx and so the Radio is also updated too. But when In Android I get a lot of freezes etc when doing network stuff (sometimes in Weather, mostly when downloading apps in Market).
I have tried various Radio's and Rom Versions, but it still isn't very un-stable.
Currently my Radio is 2.15.50.14 - which should be fine with Android.
My last clear down last night I did the following.
1) dropped my Win OS back to 1.72... (so I could load HSPL for Task 29)
2) loaded HSPL2
3) ran Task 29
4) loaded 3.14..... (but obviously HSPL is still on)
5) removed HSPL back to SPL delivered
6) loaded 3.14... again so I could get SPL 3.03...
Then I tried Android and still it frooze :-(
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance
Tony

Are you saying your Android is more stable with WP7 as the base?
Although I say WinMobile is more stable than android, its not totally stable.
For example I just finished a call and then the phone rebooted.
any other suggestions?
is my phone defective?

Are there no suggestions ;-(
Unless you need a dual boot, then go for a Android nand build, slow to boot, but there are now some fast stable nand builds. I recomment the version in my sig, but version 1.4 will be rekleased soon try that. Its a full nand install, simple instructions, and ofcours if you don't like it just task 29 and choose something else

First flash will take a while, like 5 minutes, but after that it takes a minute or less for my phone to boot. Its actually quite fast.

Can't install Magdlr?

I've tried to install magdlr 1.10 1.11 1.12 and 1.13, but none of them will install on to mu HD2. I can get so far as to the screen where it SHOULD be downloading, but it won't go past 0% can anyone tell me what I'n doing wrong?
What Windows version are you running?
Have you tried this thread.....http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893948

Tried that originally; wasn't the problem.
Sorry, not DAF.exe.
It's ROMUpdateUtility.exe.
Try that.
I'm very new to this, though not the flashing of ROMS.
This may help someone as green as me...
After a few hours of staring at a black screen with some very tiny text at the top I decided to update my radio. I had a stock ROM on the HD2 so the radio version was about 2.08, I think.
Having flashed Radio 2.15.50.14 I more or less instanly had a loading screen with a nice animated Andriod, and a few minutes later was booted into Andriod.
So, make sure your Radio is fairly up to date!
yep, thats instruction 2 in pretty much all the 'how to' threads, right after '1 apply HSPL'. But finding it out the hard way will make you remember it, hehe.
Hah! I was dead tired when I posted last night and this is in the wrong thread :-(
I'll now try and put it where it belongs...

help needed problem while flashing the wp7 rom

hi guys i hvae flashed wp7 rom on hd2 tmo i have done every thing that is needed to run the wp7 but when ever i boot it stucks on htc logo boot screen please help
does any one has answer for it help guys i m waiting
Did you really follow everything step by step?
With the problem you describe, people usually forgot to flash the correct HSPL or Radio ROM.
It must be 2.08.HSPL and Radio ROM 2.15.50.xx, before installing MAGLDR 1.13.
Sometimes, incompatible SD cards make trouble, too.

TMOUS?
If you've got the "other" (US 1024) HD2 you might have properly screwed your phone up
If you've got the European (512) non-TMOUS version then you've done something wrong on one of the steps. No more than pointers here though. You will have to search for yourself in the Development Pages.
1.HSPL
2.Correct Radio
3.MagLdr
4.ROM
In any case this Forum will help solve your issues.

Stickies
Read the stickies in development forum. I think you need seperate ROMs for TMOUS. Maybe also different HSPL, and MagLdr. I don't know what you flashed or what you should have flashed, so you need to read everything the people in the know have written.
Stuck on HTC screen as well!
I have tried it all!
Task 29, reinstall HSPL, reinstalled stock Winmo 6.5, reinstall MAGDLR 1.13, Radio 2.15, etc...
Stock 6.5 rom boots run fine.
Win 7 ROM install fine but then hangs on HTC screen forever! Been looking at it for 30 mins now!
This is highly annoying as everything was working fine last week!
Weirrrrrdddd.
Anybody got tips on this?
Peace.
This is on a EU HD2.

What version of HSPL did you install?
And about WP7, did you installed from the bootloader or MAGDLR USB Flash?
Hey @xsi!
Got 2.08.HSPL
Flashed WP7 through MAGDLR. Everything is going smooth, partitions ok but reboot stuck on HTC logo for ever!
Tried to reinstall Android through Clk no problems, Android boots fine and all, flashed WP7 through MAGDLR after but same thing happens!
Maybe a problem with Clk NAND partitions?
Cheers!

Hi, problem, i have tryed now 3 different android nandr roms, typhoon, miui, and diff versions of them. everything installs like it should acording manual, but when it loads, then it takes like 1min to do something in the phone, ant it freezes...
so any ideas what this could be ? i have t8585 leo ir some kind of this model, in EU.
it sucks that shows like its no chance to have android in my hd2..
Check one of the guides, you have probably missed something like radio or loader/rom combination

Have you got the right partition size? Also, what do you mean by 'freezes'?
first i have tryed the typhoons rom, this was told to have radio Radio Leo 2.15.50.14.
and i have it.
freezes ? it means it stops, only thing you can do is take out battery. and shows like same what kind of rom u use it boots it freezes in about 2min of looking at the phone, also ugly thing with this magldr, some times it loads, some times it not "go go go" and nothing happens... so any sugestions what i'm doing wrong ? i mean i was go with instruction manual step by step with thyphoons cm7 rom. clean install with this task29, DFT_LEO_MAGLDR113_DAF, and Recovery_150M_system_5M_cache[v3.0.2.5] . every thing installs like manuals says.. but when you boot your android, it dont work.. htc hd2 leo t8585 any thing i can do more ?
What about hspl? And which typhoon cm7 version did you try? You can also use hd2 toolkit to start again but you will have everything in one GUI.

Sounds more like hardware to me, especially once I read the line about magldr not gogogoing.
Does it get hot?
i'm doing everything about thyphoons pdf manual says.
1. HSPL 2.08.HSPL installed
and i have it.
but shows for me this DFT_LEO_MAGLDR113_DAF is not working properly..
go go go go and then stops...
or Recovery_150M_system_5M_cache[v3.0.2.5] android this one... feels like imposible to have android.. takes like 5hrs now im with my phone... i mean i had no isues with wm6.5
TyphooN_CM7_v3.7.0-MAGLDR
and 3.7.2

no its not.
this magldr is working until the recovery Recovery_150M_system_5M_cache[v3.0.2.5]
is installed, i can make this usb flasher it works every time.
after i install this clock recovery something. feels like this something is instable...
ok, i make me more clear.
in the magldr i click ad recovery after instaled that, it says go go go ant stop.. before it was running... no its not runing, should'n task29 clear everything to zero in the rom ?
hm,
i took out my sd card.
and now im browsing almost 10min with wifi, can this memory card be so deffective to freeze , and what kind of atachment it has to android os ?
ok i found maybe the reason is im using to clean my rom
Radio 2.08.50.05 + task29 and it updates radio to wrong version ...
try EasyAndroid. It has everything to cleanly install a ROM. use Task29 to wipe the rom. it'll help you install HSPL3, the correct Radio, and MAGLDR. Then start from there.
Without SD card it is working, had couple times freeze while browsing, I am very impressed with speed of Droid, feels like everything 2times faster compared to Wm 6.5
Where I can discuss about browser issues I have a problem in a site I need to use, it has advanced textbox, and its not poping up keyboard, have tried many browsers, in wm6.5 ucweb browser was the onlyone working and giving the keyboard when I click the text box.
UPDATE.
Found a solution for browser textbox issue. Long pressing the "windows" key on phone, manualy pops up the keyboard, and i can type in default android browser.
Today i'm flashing stock rom, and giving my phone to warranty. Heat is the freezing problem. I was testing outside, it was lasting much longer. but in the room temp, it was freezing while browsing, or playing games, feeling it warm at the bottom, then i need to wait about 30min, to boot the phone and it works again.. Hopefully warranty will fix it
