Ok I haven't seen a complete area for rooting the sprint version with 2.2 froyo. I'm curious if it can be done?

XDA doesn't have much of an intercept community. Id advise visiting the sdx forums.

ESN... unless you know someone well inside verizon, they wont allow you to activate the phone on their network (kind of the same thing why you cannot activate a vzw phone over sprint)

My property, bought and paid for by me. I demand full use of the merchandise I purchase from a steak knife to a daily driver vehicle. Why should my android device be any different. Give android users the right to have root access and therefore better development capabilities now!
Need to stickie this thread

Signed and commented and gave a donation to keep ipetitions up and going. Seemed to help when Samsung stopped updating the behold 2. About 3 weeks after I signed they released the official update to 1. 6 when they said they were done @ 1. 5. Hope this gets where it needs to go and gets done what is intended. Thanks for starting it.

Is there anyway to unlock this phone to still use on sprint? Thank you

The Inspire? AT&T, right? If that's what you're asking then there is a zero percent chance. Nada.

Do you mean that you bought a phone with a bad esn and they won't let you use it?
Sent from my PG06100 using XDA Premium App
Yes. I'm not asking for myself, I'm asking for a friend. He paid off his acct but they still wont turn it on. So it has bad esn. What can he do? Anything we can flash?

The only way to do it and stay on Sprint is illegal and not allowed to be talked about on this forum
Can u private message me then

The only way for the phone to remain on Sprint is for your buddy to be persistant with Sprint, and get them to release the ESN. If the account is paid for, the phone should no longer have a hold on it. Otherwise, it will only work with cricket/metro pcs, and possibly Boost, if you find the right CS associate.
I'm using evo shift on the China Telecom

Hello. I would really like to figure out how I can use this Evo Shift on boost mobile. I recently flashed my HTC Droid Incredible to Cricket so I have some knowledge. I would flash this to Cricket but the service coverage is horrible. Thanks for any help.

There are plenty of guys with Evo 4Gs on Boost. The only thing you really need to do is to have the CS add your ESN to Boost. There is no cloning involved. You may need to call a few times, and kind of play ignorant as to what type of phone you have (say a keyboard phone). But, based on what I read in the Evo forum, the rep can just add the ESN, and it's not a big deal. I'd read up more on adding a phone to boost under the Evo forum, and PM the people, to see what they had to do.
I know this was answered but I just read in the Note forums they managed to get the Att note to work on tmo 3g network bands. Maybe the same process can be looked into for the HD2? Just new insight!
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA
perhaps linking to the thread you refer to would help clarify? i would guess that it will only be possible in areas where t mo are rolling out 1900mhz, which the note supports, but the hd2 doesnt.
Cant c and p atm. Its in the Notes at&t dev section at the very top. Sorry not much help with links :-\

Is it possible to flash the Evo to a prepaid service? If so, can you point me in the direction of correct post?

Evo to Cricket is all over the internet.
Cricket is relatively easy some of their stores will even do the whole process for you.
Evo to Boost is here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=689303
Boost can be about as difficult as Cricket, but sometimes closer to Virgin, it just depends on if you can get them to activate it.
You can sometimes buy pre-activated Evo 4g and Evo 3d on Boost from Craigslist.
Evo to Virgin Mobile is here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=742287
Note that Virgin is by far the most difficult/expensive/risky to do and the most limited in terms of available roms if you need mms to work (CM7 and CM9 only).
Oh wow thanks for putting that together.
