My property, bought and paid for by me. I demand full use of the merchandise I purchase from a steak knife to a daily driver vehicle. Why should my android device be any different. Give android users the right to have root access and therefore better development capabilities now!
Need to stickie this thread

Signed and commented and gave a donation to keep ipetitions up and going. Seemed to help when Samsung stopped updating the behold 2. About 3 weeks after I signed they released the official update to 1. 6 when they said they were done @ 1. 5. Hope this gets where it needs to go and gets done what is intended. Thanks for starting it.

Is there anyway to unlock this phone to still use on sprint? Thank you
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA Premium App
The Inspire? AT&T, right? If that's what you're asking then there is a zero percent chance. Nada.

Do you mean that you bought a phone with a bad esn and they won't let you use it?
Sent from my PG06100 using XDA Premium App
Yes. I'm not asking for myself, I'm asking for a friend. He paid off his acct but they still wont turn it on. So it has bad esn. What can he do? Anything we can flash?

The only way to do it and stay on Sprint is illegal and not allowed to be talked about on this forum
Can u private message me then
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA Premium App
The only way for the phone to remain on Sprint is for your buddy to be persistant with Sprint, and get them to release the ESN. If the account is paid for, the phone should no longer have a hold on it. Otherwise, it will only work with cricket/metro pcs, and possibly Boost, if you find the right CS associate.
I'm using evo shift on the China Telecom

Hello. I would really like to figure out how I can use this Evo Shift on boost mobile. I recently flashed my HTC Droid Incredible to Cricket so I have some knowledge. I would flash this to Cricket but the service coverage is horrible. Thanks for any help.

There are plenty of guys with Evo 4Gs on Boost. The only thing you really need to do is to have the CS add your ESN to Boost. There is no cloning involved. You may need to call a few times, and kind of play ignorant as to what type of phone you have (say a keyboard phone). But, based on what I read in the Evo forum, the rep can just add the ESN, and it's not a big deal. I'd read up more on adding a phone to boost under the Evo forum, and PM the people, to see what they had to do.
Just creating a post in general to showcase my steps in an effort to get back to an unlockable boot loader from the .141 crap moto placed on my phone upon sending it in for repair.
Lucky for me, I was still under warranty so I sent it and and I am tracking it now... For the comment section I told them that I did not appreciate them upgraded me to a really bad version (.141) that made my phone really slow and unstable, and of course caused my once unlocked bootloader to no longer be unlocked.
Actually posting this because I'm frustrated and I hope that it will work so that way if anyone else is under contract or warranty can try and *hopefully* get the same results.
I will update as soon as anything happens.

I don't know if this is the right place for this or if it's even allowed because the marketplace shut down. I'm in the market for a used phone (T-Mobile USA compatible) to replace my Galaxy Nexus. It seems my only options are eBay, Craigslist and Swappa. Just wondering if anyone can recommend any other websites.
Hmmm maybe this isn't the place for requesting or selling phones. But perhaps a thread dedicated to deal sites would be a good idea. I too have been looking for a cheap ($20) phone to use with Google voice as a home phone. It would be nice if I knew what sites to check for used or discount phones.
Plus more people checking other sites means more people informing us of deals.
If a moderator comes to close this thread, please consider making a sticky that can list deal websites

Once your phone is paid off they will unlock it if you're using EIP...if you purchased full price and have had your account over 40 days they will unlock it...don't see the need for a petition lol
Do these things really help?

They change their policy in April 2013. They are giving people that purchased at full price a headache to unlock their phones...

Nope. But it makes people feel better and that seems to be what matters most...
MG
As long as you bought the phone outright you can unlock it. I just sim unlocked my at&t varient.
Online sim unlocking services...
I don't get it. I unlocked my SIM by paying some guy (I forgot his sellers is name) on EBay $3.50
Why is there a need for a petition?

At the moment, in the USA, sim unlocking by anyone except the carrier is technically illegal. The exemption was removed. I think they are working on taking care of that though. On that same note T-Mobile should let you sim unlock if you ask. Remember you can always ask for a supervisor.

There already was a petition on the whitehouse site to remove that bit and they responded to it.

I am eagerly anticipating the release of sprints lg g2. I am wondering what devs are coming to develop for the sprint lg g2. Would like to get a idea of the family that I will be with. I am sure that the device will gain popularity as time goes by, but wondering if you are a dev or a theme creator or person who does kernels etc and coming over. Would love to check out some of your work on other devices. Just haven't heard anyone ask and really am interested in this device provided the devs are on board with it, I am locking in to a agreement for 2 years so want to weigh my options carefully .

I am curious about this too.
Anyone heard of any devs?
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
I'm sure there will be many developers once the phone actually comes out and they know what they are working with.
