HELP SD Android won´t boot - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Flashed some day´s ago WP7 but I reverted to WINMO again... and when I try to put an Android Built on it won´t boot...
I get a cmd lines, kernel something and it get the HTC screen and it get stuck in it... Tryied lot´s of diferent sd builds but the result is the same.
I already formated my sd, tried in other WINMO rom´s and other sd and the result is the same!
I have HSPL 1.66
I have the last radio
I have the same as always and previously the the Android worked fine...
Strange!!!
HELP
Please

+1 on this...yeah, I'm running into the same issue after running WP7 and formatting. I've been searching it out, but haven't come up with anything yet. Everything else seems to work fine, but if I try to run android (SD build), I get the cmd line info showing haret is running, but that's as far as it goes...

I thought you had to have HSPL 2.08 as a minimum for Android to run? Maybe I'm wrong...

Tryed with HSPL 2.08 and the result is the same...

You do need HSPL 2.08 for Magldr, not Android (unless you need to flash a radio).
@OP What is "the last radio"? Can you give us the version please?

I take it you did this through your computer? Try formatting it with WinMo - don't know how, never used WinMo but it should be possible. This has worked magic for people where all else failed, it had something to do with a partitioning file.

As I said before, don´t think it´s a SD problem because I tryed with another SD card and the problem is the same... It´s sometinhg that WP7 change on the phone, that blocked the Android... But it´s strange because task29 sould format all the memory, but something remanes there...
Anyone?

testing MAGLDR v1.13
Wow, looks serious, i'm sorry i can't help though, but maybe you should post this on the magldr and wp7 thread. Also, did this happen to you on Android too?

i can't be sure what the reason for this is,but you could always install the official nbh to remove magldr and hspl. then, try again from scratch. that's what i would do. also, the only spl magldr would work for me is 2.08. but then again, you have a tmous hd2..... from what i've seen the hd2 roms don't use the whole 1024 nand, but just half of it(like normal leos) anyway - i don't know if it has anything to do with your problem, but i suggest you start over from scratch, just to be sure....
Thank you guy for all the suggestions but I give up and I install WM6.5 and Android back. I tried all the possibilities and still same thing.
I am still thinking is something which WP7 don't like on this phone. Thank you for all your support.

thats better, but still not perfect. you say, you changed your radios and roms already, but now it doesnt work anymore?
Try another USB-port.
And I hope you know, that to change radios, you dont need to enter the USB-Flasher-mode of magldr. to change the radiorom, you still need to enter the bootloader-mode by pressing the volume-down-button and power while phone is off.
Its as simple as that:
when executing a DAF.exe: use usb-flashermode of magldr.
when executing ROMUpdateUtility.exe: use bootloader.
and what do you mean by winrar-file?
you need to extract the radio first with winrar before you use it.
its win rar thats not working .

Hi guys, i dont know what happened but since i have put the android NAND on my phone it stops responding. in MAGLR i kept getting FATAL1E error. So fine i decided i will come back to windows 6.5.. i have installed 3.66 officail one and same things keep happening. It will sometimes boot sometimes it wont. It will boot but it wil hard reset instantly. Exacly the same as it was on android. I think it might be broken physicly. I dunno RAM, ROM, CPU ? Any way of checking it ? I dont want to say goodbye to my Leo

Either a hardware issue or something in NAND causing it.
Here's what I'd do.
1) Flash HSPL if you went back to stock SPL
2) Flash Task29
3) reflash MAGLDR or Stock ROM.
The key here was task29 which will completely erase your NAND so there is nothing left over to mess you up. If it still gives you issues after this I would think hardware.

Thanks for quick replay. I remmember when i was first playing about with android i thinks something messed up the HSPL. The current one i got is SPL-2.08.HSPL 8G XE. Dont know if its the one i should have. ALso when i flash winmo i did it over the cable not straight from the SD card. So im not sure if it has changed SPL. I did use Task29

Yeah but you may not be able to flash task29 without HSPL installed first since task29 is not an official ROM, so you may have to flash HSPL first then task29 then magldr.
hmm this is very strange. Suprisingly after loading the newest ROM and SPL 3.. something with it from the SD card all the problems dissapear. But When i start playing with Hard SPL and MAGLRD it just keeps freezing and kind of overheating. Still keep getting E1 FATAL ERROR. Dunno what its for but my guess is that parts of my memory are broken and it causes data to corrupt. Anyone had situation like that ? Guess i will be stuck on Winmo

yes i have
just if anyone is interested i have solved the problem. For some reason i think the HSPL did not want to work propley. So i have installed HSPL 4 on my 3.03 SPL and then installed clK. After that i have managed to install Clockwork and then NAND clK Typhoon one. Now everything boots up and works like a charm. No issues with overheating and freezing. Thanks to all involved
Well done VipereK027, and thanks for updating us with your solution.

Need Help. PLEASE!!!!!!

I can no longer get android to run on my HD2. Here are the details to my problem. Please I really need help, will make it well worth the while of anyone that can sort this problem out for me.
First off, I had been running android on my device for about a month. Then it started just going off and freezing at the android boot logo. Nothing I did would work unless I reinstall the rom.
Then that just stopped working and even after reinstalling a rom (nand) it would never get past the android boot logo after the go go go screen. It would just stay there then restart and the restart loop continues.
I have tried
- task 29
- flashing an official stock rom
- trying different radios even though the one in my sig worked with android just fine
- reflashing HSPL 2.08, MAGLDR and recovery
- formatting my SD cards (over and over again)
- trying different roms....etc
Nothing works. And I have lost count of how many times I have gone through all this.
Please take note that I did have android running on my EU HD2 with the HSPL, radio and rom in my sig on this very phone so I at least know what I am doing.
I just dont get this issue, cause windows mobile runs just fine on my device every single time. My cards read fine too. And even when trying to run an SD rom build, after haret starts up it cuts to the HTC logo and just hangs there too. And I am assuming that if it was my battery or my battery pins it would at least affect the phone generally and not only when trying to boot android.
Please, I really need help as this phone is practically useless to me now.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried running a CLK build or just MAGLDR or SD builds?
As far as i know (sorry if this is nonsense ) the HD2 runs natively on ppp not on rmnet, magldr (and sd?) pushes something in the radio so that rmnet can be used, maybe something in that direction went wrong with your phone?

Well I have only been trying MAGLDR and SD roms but never CLK. Guess I can give that a shot. But assuming something weird is going on with my radio, shouldn't it have fixed itself considering the amount of radios I have used and the amount of task 29s I have done?
Thanks for the suggestion though, will give that a go today.

Well before i get flamed by those who know better, i would ask you to look for threads covering this topic, i.e. the difference between ppp and rmnet and which one is used with which one etc.
I have read in another forum that the hd2 runs natively with ppp, but magldr pushes something "in" the radio rom while booting, so the radio looks like a desire, so the android builds can run on rmnet...
Or something like that, what i have gathered from this is, that there is a difference and since it sounded like you were running out of options, i thought i´d propose installing a clk build

Hi,
Sometimes boot loops occur when the battery pins are out of shape.
Make sure all your battery pins are aligned and see if that helps.

Ok, i have a total of 3 SD cards. One 16GB, one 4GB and the last one 2GB. I have used both gParted and partition wizard. Did full 30 mins (approx) wipes on the cards and had them formatted to fat32. For the 16GB card I try that with the ext3/4 partions. Tried using both 4kB and 32KB cluster sizes.
And again, I had actually got android running on my phone before. And even tried different roms at that time so I have some idea what I am doing. I don't have any issues reading my cards either from a card reader or through the phone.

Yeah read about that, I have tried straightening my pins and all that but nothing changes. And I would think that if the pins are the issue then I would at least hav some issues running windows mobile 6.5 too. I have never had such issues running WM ever. Android on the other hand just refuses to run.

Didn´t mean to let it sound like you don´t know what you´re doing, just trying to narrow it down and the sd cards can be the culprit for so many bugs, so it was worth a shot

Especially the NAND partition used in flash.cfg would be interesting, maybe there´s something wrong with that, that would be consistent with the failure to boot, wouldn´t it?
Other than that, i have to admit, slowly but surely this leaves my area "of expertise"

I am installing HyperDroidGBX-v12[GRI54-2.3.3][a2sd+][TytR8.3] and using the required 150mb partition size. I had got this very rom and RAFDROID rom (though with a 400mb partition) to work on my phone previously.
I also got the a couple of SD based roms to work on my device before nand roms became available now even those dont work too.
Just tried CLK for the first time and flashed the CLK version of the aforementioned rom. Been on the white HTC screen for about 10mins now.

Trust me, no offense taken what so ever .
I am aware that SD card errors could be the issue, but all three SD cards? even stranger since I have never used 2 of those 3 for any android install.
What really puzzles me though is that regardless of whatever issues i seem to be having... windows mobile runs just fine every single time. My only guess now may be that teher may be something wrong on the hardware side with how my SD card and phone syncs so something always goes wrong during the install. If that is the case the only possible solution would be if it was some how possible to install a rom directly from my PC without using an Sd card at all.

That would mean making a DAF.exe file and install it the old fashioned way.
Sadly,beyond my level of expertise.

Sorry but i am at a loss for any further possible advice for you. I would propose the build i am using for you to install.
It installs with the according daf.exe and after that you can install the zip file via cwm. I never flashed another android build myself, what with all this nand partitioning (i have heard of it, but never had to set it up myself), so i don´t really know how the nand partitioning is done without daf.exe and the according flash.cfg file.

Hi,
Just before you bin it,how have you been formatting the sd card?
Have a look at this:
"You should also properly format your sdcard with Panasonic SDFormatter (Full+Overwrite+size adjust). Then in recovery>advanced>sd partition (1GB+0MB swap) If you have a EU HD2 and need the extra data storage/rom requires it. "
Worth a shot.
Dont give up!
Might be a long shot, But have you tried turning off your antivirus software during the installation? Ive seen a few of your posts about and i hope you get it to work again. Bet your sick of the sight of task29 lol

yeah I have tried that too. Still leaves me hanging at the android logo right after the go go go screen. Truth is that I have come to the conclusion that nothing i am doing will actually work. Cause all these things mentioned now I have already done and didn't even need to do half of them at one point when i was actually running android on my phone.
The fact that I cant even run the SD card builds of android just goes to show that something must be very wrong with my phone now. It could be battery related or something but that doesn't make sense either cause WinMO 6.5 roms work fine every singel time.
I just dont get it really.

Might be a long shot, But have you tried turning off your antivirus software during the installation? Ive seen a few of your posts about and i hope you get it to work again. Bet your sick of the sight of task29 lol

Lol.... you have no idea lol
Its sad no doubt, but I am actually happy for the amount of help offered by a lot of ppl here in the xda community.
So at least I am taking it all in good spirits. Oh, I have probably tried that at one point too....
The only thing I can think of now is to flash my HSPL back to spl 1.66 and revert back to factory setting, then try and reflsah the 2.08 HSPL. Though I dont know what difference taht will make considering how many times i have reflsahed the very same 2.08 HSPL so at least i know I have a clean fresh one on my phone now lol.

[Q] need help:Move from Gingerbread 2.3.5 SD to MIUI

Hi,
I have Gingerbread 2.3.5 (Nexus) as the only Operation System on my HD2. It crashes when I use some application e.g. Scan my SD card for medias, using a music player. Now I want to switch to a better ROM like MIUI (that's what I've heard). How can I do that?
Please consider that:
- I'm beginner
- I have only Android (No Windows)
- I have HSLP v 3.* (A version of MIUI which I downloaded and tried to install, only support HSPL v 2.* or bellow)
I will appreciate any kinds of help.
Thanks,
Mas

If I'm not mistaken, this is the bootloader and other info which I have:
LEO100 HX-BC SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-1.5.0.1
SPL 3.03
RADIO-2.15.50.14
And bytheway, it seems that I made a mistake in my subject. In the bootloader menu it says "NAND Android"

Either I'm new, or that phone's details look weird.
Where did you get it from? And if you're a beginner, how did you manage to get Android on it?

Well! I asked (and paid) someone to install it for me
I'm thinking about re-installing a Windows and then install an android on my SD card if I don't have any other options.
You've been given a fake I think. The HD2 doesn't have HBOOT or S-ON/OFF in the bootloader.

What do you mean by fake? It is working (the phone and OS) and in the software info it is written Android 2.3.5

Doesn't mean that it's an HD2.

haha. Well I got it as a brand new phone some times ago by myself and was using Windows phone but recently asked from someone to install Andorid on it so it is not a fake.
I wonder to know if there is a way to return my windows phone back and then install an Android on its SD card.

Could you upload pictures of the screens where u see that stuff?
And to return to winmo 6.5,
1. downlad the rom from htc.com
2. boot into the bootloader ( to do this, turn off the phone, turn it on while holding the volume down and power key until u boot into the bootloader )
3. Connect your phone to the pc using the usb
4. The 'serial' word should change to 'usb', at this point, just run the rom.
All this is assuming you have a HD2.

Thanks for your reply and assumption!
I have a question though, do I need to do task29 first then do your 1-4 steps?
I won't face any problem due to the version of my SPL etc?

Hi, I would use task29, as it wipes the internal memory clean. Do note that some people have bad blocks ( a bit of corrupted memory ) after using task29. But i have used it alot and never faced this issue, If u havnt done it before, no harm it using it.

tnx.
I will try task29 and lets see what will happen.
As you can see in the title, I have a NAND Gingerbread 2.3.5 (Nexus) and I'm not very happy with it so I want to recover my winmo 6.5 and then install another rom of Androdi on my SD. Am I in the right path?
- task29
- put the stock rom on my SD
- reboot and install the winmo 6.5
regards,
Masood
its basically task29, then u boot into the bootloader, ( because the internal memory is wiped, nothing else u can boot into ), then u connect the phone to the pc using the usb, then just run the rom u downloaded, its an executable. If it reads the phone ( which it will ) it will automatically install winmo 6.5
And just to inform you, u have a really really old rom. After winmo 6.5, i suggest u install one of the latest gingerbread roms. I use Typhoon's rom, its really fast and smooth and bugfree. PERFECT for everyday use

How can I move to Typhoon Rom then? Do I need to remove everything?
As you might remember, I have a Nexus 2.3.5 NAND on my HD2.

Alright. U have android 2.3.5. Thats really old. You will have to answer some questions,
1) Do you have clockworkmod recovery( CWR ) installed?
2) Did u flash the rom yourself? Are you familiar with the whole flashing process?
I'm guessing you already have MAGLDR bootloader installed. And you dont need to remove everything. You will be adding a few things, thats all.
Btw, you will have to make backups of everything you need. Eg, stuff on your sd card, pics and all. And your SD card WILL BE WIPED CLEAN.
I JUST READ YOUR OLD POST. lol sorry
If you have MAGLDR installed, Which probably is, you dont need task29. Its quite simple from there actually

Problems with HD2 (reception, crashing...)

I have hd2 rooted magldr 1.13 on it, and I'm usually installing NAND roms(becouse I have slow 4GB class 4 card) and non of them are good, I don't know what am I doing wrong or all of roms are unstable and a lot of thing are not working(I read what is working, and what is not in thread of ROM that I am installing). Almost every time I have problem with signal streight and mobile network. I install last version of radio I tried previous version of it two, and still same. I am currently searching for some stable rom with Sense and version 2.3.5 or later version, so If you can suggest me some that would be great. I did search for them but as I said they were all unstable, camera was awful picture was falling apart, that thing with signal and mobile network. Only thing that I didn't try was returning him to windows mobile OS to see if that things happend there two.
anyone ? I mean 100 looks, and no one knows...

that's because mtty drivers are not installed/set up correctly on your computer. but why going for mtty?
just enter bootloader and flash the ruu from pc and see if your problem persists

I am in the process of installing energy rom now. Can you tell me do I have to do task29 if I'm coming from another ROM every time I want to install other rom or just do a DFT from that rom that I'm installing ?
you can task29 using hd2 toolkit.
you can also use it to partition your phone as needed

I know that. But do I have to do task29 every time I install different rom or just DFT is enough ?

it is RECOMMENDED but not NECESSARY. i did it 1-2 times till now (celebrating a year of flashing roms 4 times/week)
by DFT do you mean repartitionning? if so, yes. it's enough
