**** sprint. Seriously, is anyone that cares about this anymore not already running a 2.1 ROM?

The problem with the 2.1 ROMs we have now is, even though they are spectacular, they're not 100 percent. There are some things that are broke.

Some people just don't get that even thought most of us are running a 2.1 rom - there are still issues.
My wife still has Audio issues with hers.
Not to mention we don't have legit .29 Kernel source...I have a feeling Toast may have something or just a really bastardized .27 kernel source.

I have a hard time believing they would update on a friday. Seems like it would make for a hell of a weekend for support staff...
Maybe Sprint is buying the beer, who knows.
Seems like if Gingerbread is suppose to be official before the end of the year, something should have leaked by now. An early test build, some screenshots, maybe some video? All we have seen are a couple of shopped screenshots that show 3.0 as the build
Someone out there must know or have seen something Throw us a bone here!
It hasn't been leaked because you touch yourself.
Because people don't like breaking NDAs and losing their jobs?
Google will release it when they release it.
+1 to the poster above.
And judging by Froyo experience, I guess Nexus users will see "semi-official" test builds way before the official release, once these builds make it to beta stage.

Ah, that's probably my fault then.
I'll stop for an hour or two and see if Gingerbread appears...

Well that's what I'm saying. When Google showed Froyo at Google IO, it didn't OTA until almost 2 months after that. I was assuming that we would see a Gingerbread OTA before the end of the year. If timetables are similar that won't happen.
It just seems like we got more leaks and now its dried up lol

I don't think that anybody's even said that the next release will be version 3. It could be 2.3 or 2.5....
The only thing we've actually seen is some chicken little claiming that it would take a modern supercomputer to run it -- and THAT has been refuted.
... and time has PROVEN that EVERY chicken little making claims about the future of android is always wrong 100% of the time.
This year? lol, we won't see 3.0 until next year. IF we're lucky, Q1.

You do know that G comes before H, right?
a google campus recruiter was at my university today. he was playing with a nexus one so i told him that i have one also. he said his was different so I asked him why and peeked at his screen and he suddenly pulls down the notification bar and says "oh it has at&t". this seemed like a silly reason so i asked what build he was running and he told me he couldn't say. I asked if it was gingerbread and he said yes. i asked him if he could tell me about new features and he said no.
i got some google chapstick and a google pen though.
I have been hoping leaks would start soon considering Gingerbread is supposed to be unveiled in mid October. I expect to see devices in the latter part of Nov.
Just like when 1.0 was unveiled and 2.0 was unveiled. They were followed by a device about a month after.

the date is 2/1/11, so i think it could be very recent, however, you dont really know...
in the mean time i think we should complain to samsung on their twitter n fb pages along with sprints.

Yeah that is just Dk28 :/

it is old but thanks for trying its appreciated
2.2 is coming soon hopefully
Very nice article for those looking to update to dk28 =)
It might not be I was told by sprint today it was released for beta testing for a select few
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
i guess ill give it a try and see if its any different, lol and ur welcome i try everyday to see if there is any updates, but im hoping this is the actual beta, well technically it would be a beta of a beta since we already have a dk28, but nonetheless i will give it a run for its money and see if its the same old crap or what.
actually when i tried to download the file, its around 90mb, so i think it could really be a beta update, cuz all the other dk28 roms are around 140 or so, even the leak was around that much. Im prolly gonna have to go back to RFS though
wow, i went back and found that the date of this page is indeed 1 February 2011!
yes...thats why i posted it cuz the date was 2/1/11 like i stated in my original post, now for the question of undoing ext4 and going back to rfs...wish this wasn't a pain in the ass
nvm got my hopes up for nothing...!!! i wanna strangle the ceo of samsung and sprint one in each hand!

Its not the beta. its good news but not beta good news. Its just saying that the people who are in the beta got the OTA push for testing, but in the meantime...hit up the 2.2.1...
So it would be double the good news for people who didnt know about the DK28..but its kinda slap in the face for people who have been waiting since the beginning and are already on DK28...
We should all honestly foget about froyo...I called it in the beggining of decemberthat we wouldn't see froyo till feb and even I don't be that anymore...its never coming period
got the dk28 with ext4 already...im just wanting the source code thats all
and i think we can get froyo if we make a unified effort to complain to samsung and sprint on their online pages

I agree with you but no one seems to believe that! It worked for T-mobile, but here it just seems like no one thinks it will make a difference.
What if the date is non-american?
2/1/11 would be jan. Second lol but nah we not getting it tll 12/21/12

sorry i meant to write leaked version..not leaded version..lol

The release is supposed to be today. If it's SRF 1.2 I need to bring a data cord with me to father's day, haha!
There isn't anything significant right now.
The latest post was on a theme and before that was 12 hours ago from someone saying they just loaded up the 1.1.1

Yeah, I went in using my phone. Totally forgot the other ip address would bypass the block.
lol, I've got my phone charger set up on my computer, so I'll always be ready for something like that!
How long would it realistically take to download a rom in 4g mode and how likely would it be that you would get a bad download?

So does anyone know what happened to the Xoom Zone ROM? The thread was closed "at the OP's request"...
I was kind of bummed out when I saw that and that no new thread was started for a new version...
I too would like to know what happened to Xoom Zone. I am currently using the latest release before the thread was closed down. I really liked what they were doing with their ROM. I'm sure it will be back up with something new in due time. I mean, it's too good to drop from the face of the earth right? Unless there was an event in real life that caused the project as a whole to come to a complete halt. Aside from that wild guess, not sure why it closed so suddenly. I was very shocked when I saw this, and I would like to learn more info about it.

I kind of wondered if zone123 got tired of answering the same questions over and over again. Or maybe the Tiamat guys didn't approve of what he was doing. (I would find that highly unlikely though).
I hope he comes back! I just went back to zoom zone tonight because it just feels faster than the new 3.2 tiamat ROM.
I had just given him my first donation ever to an android developer, too!

I wouldn't worry too much especially since he had donations coming in. I think you are right. A lot of questions get repeated so many times it becomes overkill, thus the thread was going nowhere rather quickly.
I saw that the 3.2 SDK was released so Tiamat will do their thing, with Xoom Zone not far behind. For the one's who use this ROM, have faith in it.
Tiamat is my favorite, but Xoom Zone is a great ROM, it's worth a test run. The blue themed everything looks neat. Runs like a pro as well.
