[Q] having some issues - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

im currently new to XDA and HD2.
im having problems downloading the android 2.2 nand, i have the magldr 1.11 downloaded but the android nand download like is to rapidshare.
when i go to download the file it gives me a error message.
i got the link from techburrows video tutorial..
any help would be appreciated.
sorry if i posted this in the wrong place.

i think i found the download somewhere else.
i have a t-mobile usa hd2 with a 3.14 rom.
i know i have to install hardspl to flash the android rom.
im just not sure what i have to do to get hardspl on to my device.

In order to flash HSPL you need to downgrade to 2.08 spl first then you can flash the Rom of your choice. Here's a link as to how to do it for W.M. the steps are the same except that you'd use the android rom of your choice and it's loading instructions
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=653614

i downloaded hspl but when i connect my phone and hit install it says...
RAPI.dll isnt installed, reinstalling might fix this problem. idk what that means.

is that activesync?

so i got everything to work.
downloaded hspl.
downloaded magldr.
downloaded android nand.
booted up magldr, put it in usb flasher mode, ran the dft android application but got this error.
Error happen
Read below for more information
Error Description: USB init failed
Info: .\RSPL\RSPL.cpp (723)
even tho my phone was connected. any help?

now magldr isnt working, at first the wait usb...usb showed up when i connected it.
but now its not doing it.
so now what?

I have been trying to load NAND on my tester HD2 since it was posted and never have gotten it to load once I'm running the DFT program. Doesn't matter which MAGDLR version I have used it never connects but in bootloader mode it shows im connected. It's crazy because the DFT WP7 loaded perfectly. I've about given up because Android works perfect from the SD for me so I'm just working on keeping the dual boot but am gonna use WP7 and run Android from the SD so I get the best of both worlds.

So I was able to get everything loaded up properly. Im just having problems with my internet connection.
Any help?

So I got everything working. I'm loving it. Thanks for the help.

It looks like you have to start all over from the beginning, try a youtube tutorial there are many out there and many of the more experienced techs on here actually post those videos. Good luck and make sure you follow it step by step. Also check out a thread by a moderator by the name of MSkip he posted on here directions on how to install a rom on your phone.. it's located in the HD2 section.
I think you've probably got everything right except for the actual ROM flash. There aren't too many Android NAND roms that you can flash the usual way (i.e the DAF like loaders you used for HSPL and magldr), but you can try flashing CWM and then a good NAND Android rom. Check out the Android NAND development forum for a suitable rom to flash, you'll most likely find the relevant instructions there. Or you can start over with YouTube tutorials to guide you (that's what I did). Best of luck.

Need help on how to flash custom rom on htc hd2 tmobile us

Hello guys,
Happy to be part a members, nice threads in here but here is the thing, i live in belgium and bouhght a htc hd2 tmous with a original WM6.5 tmobile, unlock network, works fine. Now sinds one week i installed android on it, installed hspl 2.08, radio updated to 2.15.50.14, i managed to install android nand rom i think 2.2 but when i download ROM MANAGER from android market i have got an error message about the permissions, so i found gingerbread 2.3.2 and download a custom rom from xda like 'LeeDrOiD HD' copied on my sd card a managed to flash rom with ROM MANAGER and then when i try to install another rom from my SD card i am stuck on boot menu. The only way for me to flash a custom rom when i download a rom with the DAF.exe or CustomRUU.exe otherwise i tried the CWM and did install from a zip buth then again stuck on the boot menu o MAGLDR 1.13
So my question is, is there a thread in here to explaining different ways or tutorial to flash custom rom and which one for HTC HD2 TMOUS, am i missing something on the procedure? Well could you guide me through the procedure, i an tired to leave open 37 sites to try to get a solution
In advance i will thank you all
Hello and welcome to XDA gap04,
Let me help you out some, ROM Manager only works if you are using cLK for your Android bootloader. But you said you are using MAGLDR 1.13 so this more than likely explains your problems using it. Go to the stickie thread "Rom Manager Now Supports HD2" to learn more about this.
Also check out the stickie thread on XDA recognized developer ksubedi's HD2 NAND Toolkit. This is a all in one flashing tool for the HD2. You can flash anything Windows Mobile related, flash splash screens, HSPL, MAGLDR, cLK, run Task 29, flash Clockwork Mod Recovery after flashing MAGLDR or cLK. You name it, if it is a NAND flash able file for the HD2 you can flash it with this tool.
You can also check out the guide linked in my sig and the other link saying "New to XDA?" to learn how to get the most from XDA.
Hi T-Macgnolia,
Many thanks to you, i'll go and check on your reply
Really appriciated on your quick answer

[Q] new HD2 owner with issues! Please help :)

I have a HD2 but the down button is not working.
It has magldr 1.3 installed and the phone is running CM7. The mod version is MDJ's CyanogenMod 7 (v2.6) A2SD+
I really want to install a more up to date rom,a miui rom would be my chosen way.
Ive tried going through the process for one such rom.
I get to the point of running DAF and I get the following error:-
An error has occurred
Read below for more information
Error Description: Config load failed.
Info: .\RSPL\RSPL.cpp (725)
Error Description: CONFIG: file not exist
Info: .\RSPL\RSPL.cpp (359)
After this I tried selecting the AD recovery option I get this message in MAGLDR saying "No boot sources"
Ive no idea if cLK is even installed on the phone.
Any help with repairing the down button would be great. Ive seen new housings on ebay and one thread I read suggested this would replace the volume rocker. can anyone confirm this or a way of repairing it would be great.
Im not new to Android but I usually use clockwork mod on my other devices.
This HD2 Android experience is totally new!
I know that using clockwork mod I dont need a down button because I can go straight into recovery from rom manager. I have rom manager on the phone and have installed clockwork mod but what ever I do the phone just goes into MAGLDR.
Ive spent the best part of today trying to sort this out but all ive ended up with is a huge headache.
Any help would be really appreciated!
Welcome to the world of HD2
go to these steps:
- Run Task29 (will delete you phone storage complete (all data will be erase!)).
- Make sure you've got the right radio rom - but i think so
- install MAGLDR or CLK - i would prefer magldr for beginners
- flash Clockwork Mod Recovery
- flash your rom
if you need help with these steps, look in the forum after the HD2 Toolkit or even take a look with my tool (see signature) - its not up2date - but the steps and the tools which im using are )
i hope i can help ya a bit
edit:
oh your down button dont work - bad.. no down button no clockworkmod :/
Hi aagain, I'm glad you started a new thread.
I'd get a magldr user to confirm this before you try it but I think the 'no boot sources' error means cwm isn't present or corrupt. I know magldr users can flash cement via DAF but don't know if you have to do it from trial colour screen, if so your SOL. Try looking into flashing recovery via adb fastboot, I'm sorry I don't have time to research more for you, have a driving lesson in 10 min's

Thanks for your reply.
I tried doing a task 29 wipe but the problem is I need a down button to get the phone in that mode.
Hmm ive never used adb fastboot but is it possible to do everything I need to do with this to get it working this way?
Update:-
I found a past post saying about AD recovery No sources found error and a fix was given where you used to HD2 tookit to do a MAGLDR Repartition.
I tried this and I can now access clockwork mod via MAGLDR.
Ok ive now been able to install the miui rom I wanted.
Many thanks for your help guys

ERROR: ERROR: Cannot read ramdisk image

Hello guys,
Does anyone know what does this message mean:"ERROR: ERROR: Cannot read ramdisk image"?
It appeared on my HD2 while I was installing an Android ROM on it and now I cannot run any other OS on it but Windows Mobile. I tried Google but had no luck. Only one person as far as I understood experienced this problem but I have no reply from him and I am not even sure if he managed to solve the problem anyway.
So, if anyone knows something about it I would be happy to hear. Any help would be useful. Thanks in advance!
Best regards

Did u flashed radio ?
I reflashed radio, did task29, flashed hspl, flashed Magldr, flashed stock WM ROM from my PC, then again from sd card and no result. WM ROM works ok but that's it. No Android or WP7 can be flashed. In order to be more specific, here is what I do:
1. HSPL 2.08
2. task29 with Radio 2.15
3. Magldr
4. CWM
And when I try to enter AD Recovery from the Magldr menu I receive the message I mentioned in my first post and there is nothing more to be done but using the phone with WM which in my opinion makes out of my HD2 a piece of crap.

Let mi simple u Task29 and Radio Rom
Task 29 - When u do task 29 to phone u delete everything even radio rom. So the thing u need to do is do this for magldr :
-Task29
-Radio Rom
-Magldr
-CWM
-Wipe
-Flash Rom
-Calibrate battery (some roms do it itself)
If it will make u easier i can make tutorial but im pretty much sure there is milions of them .
Try that way and report if it worked . Its 30min process.
EDIT: HD2 powered by WM is crippled yea. Android is far superiour even withou cam. But let me tell u one thing first thing why i tooked HD2 is Windows by stock and customization possible. Didnt carred about low battery etc. Windows is till now unbeatable bussines platform. iOs is near but its not it. Android hard to get bussines capable like windows 7. What I mean windows is bussines ready,iPhone is kinda ready and on android u have to customize like hell to get everything (at least what I as system admin need)
Task29 does not delete your radio. I was sure of it because I had flashed my phone a lot of times in the past, but anyway, I tried your method and the result was the same. When I install Magldr and then CWM, the phone does not let me enter the CWM menu so I cannot continue with the flashing of the Android ROM itself. It is just not possible without CWM. I also tried cLK method but when I press and hold the home key, the phone restarts and I get to a dead end once again. Thanks for your help anyway.
As far as WM is concerned, there is absolutely no chance for me to use this phone with this OS. if I cannot find a way to manage the problem I will just sell the phone and buy a native Android one which will make things much easier for me.
Best regards
Which rom are u trying to install?
Sent from my HTC HD2 using Tapatalk
It is all the same which one because when you are not able to enter the CWM menu you cannot install anything, but for instance, let's say this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1264828
I had problems booting that rom too. Try this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1326217 almost perfect. Mwakious has some bugs i w8 for him to fix it
You don't follow what I say. I cannot enter CWM menu so I cannot even start flashing any ROM, it doesn't matter which one it is.
Merry Christmass by the way!
Which windows mobile u have/had ? Can u run android from sd ? Can u tell me exact procedure u tried to install nand android? If u want to try ffaster u can pm me to send u skype or gtalk.
Hi
I have the same issue, in bootloader on ad recovery.. i get cannot read ramdisk image, I will not uninstall ANDROID, because I will no longer support android, if I can not install any other roms
Any other advice, but to not lose my actual ROM!!!!
PS: I had installed ROM Manager latest, and installed clockwork from rom manager, Till then the recovery worked....
Had the same problem yesterday. I used the HD2 Toolkit to repartition, by the way it installs Recovery 5.
Then everything worked fine.

Could you please explain me step by step how exactly you managed to solve the problem. I installed HD2 Toolkit 4.2.0.1 and try to use Update recovery function but the console that opens after I start the process freezes and I cannot continue. There is an explanation in it saying that probably the USB connectin is not good. However I use the USB flasher in Magldr menu for this connection between the phone and the PC and I don't know another way to connect both devices for the installation process. Is there something that I am missing?
By the way The message that I receive now when I try to open CWM changed from "...cannot read ramdisk image" to "...cannot read kernel image". Does it make any difference?
Thanks in advance!
@By the way The message that I receive now when I try to open CWM changed from "...cannot read ramdisk image" to "...cannot read kernel image". Does it make any difference?
For this question I do not know any answer, but for USB Connection I know because I had the same problem:
Put your phone in debugging mode.. and connect it to PC..
Use usbdeview to delete any android drivers from that list..
Then in device manager find any new hardware, and right click, and update: Browse my driver manually> Let me pick my driver> find the driver from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090783 find "Download Drivers By T-Macgnolia", and after that you need to find Android Driver installed in device manager, after that hd2 toolkit will work.
Solution
You have to copy the files in the. Zip attachment inside the SD.
Make the whole process as usual, but instead choose the option you choose AD Recovery Boot option AD DS.
This way you can access the recovery menu and load the rom.
regards
Thx a lot!!!
This worked for me- just perfect!!!
Mikel
Worked for me as well, thanks very much, I was about to see how far the phone could fly.
Thanks
Hi, and many thanks.
I fixed my error like a charm.
Had the same problem
Thank you, this realy helped me out!

Hd2 wp7 error code c101002e

Hello guys!
I'm using HTC HD2 for a couple of month and i'm supprising how it can do. I can install Android or Wp7 easily without any issue.
However, one fine day when my HD2 is running Android 2.3 exellently, I decided to make it run Wp7, the rom is from this thread http://http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1510444. I installed it, everything done, HD2 started to boot and :crying: It's got a black screen with a wp7 device need to be conneted to pc. I tried that and Zune said error c101002e.
I did some google search and saw that some wp7 devices have also faced with this problem, and there is a solution from MS but they can't be applyed for HD2.
So would you guys please tell me if there is any solution to solve this problem on HD2.
Thanks in advance.
dont know what you do but this is correct installation procedure for WP7... Zune not needed in this steps... Zune is only for sync multimedia content
flash Task29 or flash WM6.5
flash HSPL 2.08 (if not already flashed)
flash hardware radio 2.15 or 2.12
flash magldr
in magldr:
- 10. Services, 4. UseLast24NAND
- 10. Services, 5. ClearSD MDR
- 5. USB Flasher
and run DWI.exe for flashing ROM...
or read my Tutorial from signature
Yes,thanks man.
That all exactly what i‘ve done and i‘ve successed sometime before, because i often switched between adroid and wp7. This is the first time i‘ve faced up with this problem so, on the first boot i receive that error.
