Cingular 8125 on AT&T

Can someone point me in the right direction I've doen numerous searchs and talked to tech support (useless) . I have a 8125 that I picked up, although I am a AT&T sim card user (our company hasn't upgraded yet) so I unlocked the phone and it works great. although I can not access mmode or anything email or Internet related unless using wifi.
Can someone point me in the right direction for some instructions on how to get this thing set up to work with the legacy AT&T wireless system?
You need to manually enter the AT&T GPRS and MMS settings.
Call up AT&T and ask for the necessary information. They'll give it to you.
PM me you're email address I have the cab file that I can send to you.

Well they don't exist anymore and the guys at Cingular could only get me so far. that's why I'm looking around for it.
Mark, you have a PM, thanks in advance
Cab file didnt work Mark. Only change it made was resetting my today backround to the default. all the settings are still the same.
is there a list of settings or a walk through for setting it up manually somewhere?
It should have worked.
Here is what I have:
MMS Configuration
Retrieve Messages Immediately
Save Sent Messages
Servers
AT-T MMSC
10.250.250.100
9201
http://mymsc.mymmode.com
My Work Network
100k
Wap 1.2
My ISP
AT-T Internet
Cellular Line (GPRS)
Proxy - Proxy Name
Work Network
AT-T WAP
Proxy - Proxy Name
Proxy
This network connects to the internet
This network uses a proxy server
WAP 10.250.250.250 9201
Secure WAP 10.250.250.250 9203
Hope this makes sense.
Another option is to go to the Cingular web page and choose Support, Phone/Device Support.
Select the following:
Network: former AT&T Wireless"
Manufacturer: Siemens
Model: SX66
Use the information in Device Setup to configure the browser/internet and MMS settings. It won't match exactly because the SX66 is a 2003 device, but you should be able to figure it out.

T-mobile proxy settings

My Kaiser sets the T-Mobile internet connection to use an HTTP proxy of 149.254.201.132:8080
What does this actually do?

t-mobile proxy settings wont change

I'm trying to change the t-mobile proxy settings in the connections settings because it keeps crashing the opera browser when i visit https secured websites, messenger and so on.
I unchecked the box next to "This network uses a proxy server to connect to the internet". But i noticed it doesnt change it and when i go back to the proxy settings, i find its still checked. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a bug or is there some kinda lock preventing it from being changed? and how do i change it?
ideas? tips? pls?
you on t-mobile usa? bc i have those settings
Tmo USA has been switching its EDGE networks over to a new server. You can now point the modem to epc.tmobile.com (not the old wap.voicestream.com) and no longer need to use any proxy.
However WinMo is a bit flaky in how it configures multiple connections, especially with how it resets the proxy settings. From Start > Settings > Connections Tab > Connections > Advanced > Select Networks, you should set both Internet and Private Network to your Tmobile connection. After you do that, you will be able to change the proxy settings.
WinMo will still switch over to WiFi if it's available (or if you manually disconnect EDGE), but this will get you connected to Tmo's new proxy-less epc.tmobile.com server and should enable https as well as other non-port-80 services.
Of course you will need to soft-reset to activate the new settings.
wait so if i used that epc. server as opposed to the wap., would i see any difference in connection speed? just curious
nevermind... i think it works the same. but atleast i don't have to deal with all the proxy crap

i'm on t-mobile uk.. still having no luck. I'm looking to change the proxy settings because it keeps crashing Opera and ie when visiting secure sites.. messenger doesnt connect either.
Oh, well I can't help with specific Tmo UK settings. But setting both connections to your Tmo connection should still allow you to modify the proxy settings.
But as for the US' epc.tmobile.com server, the speed should be marginally faster (not a lot, it's still EDGE of course); still it will depend on your location/coverage. The biggest improvement is that all sorts of non-port-80 services (https, ssh, chat, remote desktop, etc) now work. Bottom line, it's certainly not worse than the old wap server.

Cant access secure sites on Touch with Vodafone GPRS India

Hi,
I am unable to access the secure sites (using https) using my Vodafone GPRS in India. Have anyone else faced this? I am unable to synchronize with both Microsoft Exchange using Active Sync as well as configure Gmail because both uses SSL connection.
Thanks in advance,
D
I have used Vodafone Mobile Connect (APN:www) with no worries. Have you checked the date on your device?
Pardon but could you confirm what date are you asking for?
I also tried to configure the APN to www (without changing any other settings) But as soon as I select the APN, the GPRS is geting disconnected and I am unable to browse. Would you mind sharing the full APN settings

T-Mobile Z1s VPN connection issues?

I don't know how many users here are on t-mobile with the Z1s and using the VPNs from your phone, but this is a necessity for me. After finally getting around to it I found out real quick that it didn't work, and recently found a post on their support forum confirming this as well as a workaround for it.
http://support.t-mobile.com/thread/60804
The above is specific to T-Mobile, but not to the Z1s, so I wanted to go ahead and add my experience, which is specific to the Z1s:
For some reason I was unable to edit the APN settings. I called T-Mobile support and they told me they can't help with VPN issues because it is the IT department of my companies problem (that would be me... and yes i know the vpn works). They told me if i wanted to access the APN settings i needed to unlock the phone? But I'm impatient so here is what I did for the Z1s specifically I just created a new APN with the same settings, and basically all you need to do is chang the protocol from IPv6 only to IPv4/IPv6 :good:
And now VPN works!
P.S. If this should be in a more general sub-forum please let me know/feel free to move it. :good:
I use private internet access VPN and their apps works fine for me. Did not need to modify anything. Just entered username/pw and connect. Have not tried the phone using a corporate work VPN though.

The problem seems to be if your endpoint is using IPv4, since the TMO network seems to be on IPv6 (though it may depend on the area). Also, this is using IKEv1 IPSEC VPNs through built-in android VPN settings. I also tried NCP's VPN client (3rd party app).
I think tmo should set their default profile to IPv4/IPv6.
I noticed sometimes I don't have data connection even though at full bars.
After I create a new profile with IPv4/IPv6, I don't have this problem any more.
