Alright cool illl check with sprint to tomorrow
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
If you want I believe you can go to your sprint account online and blacklist the number.
Is that black listing free?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Its free you can do online in your account setting permissions or you can call sprint to block it
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Or install Mr. Number Call Block on your phone. I use it to send incoming 800/888/866/865 numbers and their built-in "suspected spam" list straight to voicemail. You can, of course, add your own numbers to block or exclude, and you can choose whether to send blocked calls straight to voicemail or simply block.
http://www.appbrain.com/app/mr-number-call-block/com.mrnumber.blocker
You can also add the number as a contact and then force the calls to go straight to VM. Click on the contact>edit>Send calls directly to voicemail.

Sorry somebody called and I posted the thread before I was done. I was saying I have a coworker who claims his friend at the Sprint store put a code into his phone that makes the server think its a store demo and gives him free Sprint Hotspot. I think he is full of **** and want to call him out but was just curiois if anybody has heard of such crap..

He's full of it, however there are free wireless tethering apps in the market.

Doesn't sprint just track the display models by their device id (the number under the battery, can't remember what its called). To me that seems how they would "write" that off, so if device is stolen they can track its use or shut it down. This is just me guessing please correct me if I am wrong.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA Premium App
Sprint doesn't even have tethering enabled on displays.
Do not become intimate with this coworker.

That I know I meant the data/voice part. Sry I could have worded question differently.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA Premium App
As far as voice/data, Sprint does keep track of the ESN #s of their display phones, if they see anything crazy (people dialing long distance and then leaving calls running, prank calling etc.) they will terminate the call.

Nice that verizon has txt msgs on the tab, but not nice they don't tell you they charge 25ยข per! The rep didn't even know they charged extra for it! That is just down right wrong not to tell the customer!

Yes, I've paid for a couple of spams too, I looked for a way to turn messageing off, but haven't been able to get it below 10 messages per conversation.
I called customer service and asked them to block my sms number and I just use google voice. Works great and it's free.

I had the same problem with tmobile. I am supposed to get unlimited text and 5gig data, but they were charging me 25 cents per text.
When i called the acted like they didnt know anything and took two months to fix.

Verizon to Verizon is only free with the non-$5 text packages.
I just installed "Sync SMS" and its pretty cool. It sends texts from your phone to your tablet via Dropbox. You can send from tablet through your phone number as well. Cost 3 bucks, but certainly good enough for me at the moment.

What is worse is you cannot call and have it disabled. You have to pay $5 a month for some family addon that lets you limit your kids text messages or something

If you have prepaid and don't keep a balance it will be effectively disabled. I haven't tried when i have money in the account but it told me "Not enough in your prepaid account" when i tried once.

Just call customer care, and ask for the retentions department. Tell them you are pissed that you have no way of monitoring if you are going to go over your minutes. I got the family addon added free for life.
This might be a little off-topic (apologies), but I plan on switching from sprint to TMO prepaid with the nexus 4. I don't care about my sprint #, but I have a google voice number I'd like to use. Just wanted to check and see if this is possible. tia
Of course its possible! Google voice app for android. Port you real number to Google for $20 unless you really don't care.

Before porting your number and getting in contract with keep in mind that google voice is currently free till end of 2012. Google always push it a year ahead but dont promise that it will remain free for ever.
Secondly and importantly; no emergency calling ie no 911

You mean the gmail calling or groove IP on your phone is free until end of 2012, right? I heard nothing about the rest of the GV service not being free any more. IE texts and phone/voicemail forwarding.
I have asked this question several times however hopefully the pics helps. I get that prompt whenever u try to send or receive a call. If I try to answer the call I get a message that I missed that same call and the person on the other end only gets a busy tone

If you're on sprint network
Connect to WiFi and dial ##72786#
I'm not on Sprint, I'm looking to use the phone internationally. I think somehow the phone thinks that it's roaming.

Yes I did, if you look at the picture you'll see that the phone is has all the bars. And as I said when people call me the calls come in its just that whenever I try to answer I get a prompt saying that I need to activate, then it proceeds to run an app call ZACT which really doesnt do anything either....
?
Does anyone have an idea how to get this thing working???
Do you have insurance just go to a sprint store they will swap you into a refurb it may take a few days to get it being that its Friday and they only ship on business days
Thanks Dincdoes but I dont live in the states... that aside its not so much that the phone is broken as i said it keeps trying to get me to activate this ZACT thing which as far as i know is no longer offered not that it matters i just want to get rid of it
