[Q]Remapping Hardware Keys? - HD2 Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting an

So we all know about the hardware key issue, but I haven't found any threads about working on fixing it. Is anyone making any progress on it or is it just not possible, or what?

Thought I'd bump this topic up, would like an update -- if there is any...

Unit not responding to reset button

I don't know if this is a known issue or not, but it is surely concerning. I am attempting to upgrade my ROM to one of the WM6 ROMs and while trying to identify the version of my bootloader, I realized that my unit is not responding to the reset button. I am not able to perform a soft, hard or even bring up the Bootloader screen (PWR+CAM+Reset buttons).
Am I overlooking something really stupid here? Has anyone else come across this issue before?
Thanks,
tocarv

Maybe a hardware problem with the reset hole button?
Not exactly the reply I was hoping for... I really do appreciate your reply. I was starting to think that my question was so rediculous that nobody would even be willing to answer.
It seems I'll be studying the instructions to disassemble the P3600 a little more carefully this weekend!

Single button keyboard fix? Help!

So the issue is as i'm sure you already know...anytime you would like to use the two keys at the same time in a game or whatever one key alway overwrites the other. Has anyone found a work around for this yet? I've already bound half the commands to the soft keys and the other half to the keyboard but what a pain! If anyone has a fix i would love it if you could share it with me.
Thanks.
I spent some time looking into the same issue quite awhile ago. There wasn't a fix then and I haven't heard of anything in the mean time. If you do find anything please post it.

Hardware problem (buttons), please help.

over the past few weeks some of the buttons (namely left soft key, up and left) have stopped working, i've tried numerous roms just incase but it's definatley a hardware issue, now, i've dismanted the phone using the diamantos guide to see if anything jumps out at me, gave the phone a damn good cleaning whilst i had the chance, put it back together....but nothing, everything seems to be in order, all components in their rightful place but i still cant work it out, does anyone know if this is a common problem or if theres a fix as i've been unsuccessful in my searches.
actually, i just found the solution and it worked a treat, thanks anyway people.
btw, if anyone would like to know what i did then i'll be more than happy to share the solution.
hello,

I'm beginning to experience the same symptoms. I would be most grateful if you could publish the solution, or at least the link for an eventually already published solution.
Thank you very much in advance.

G1 Physical Keyboard - Inputs random keys

I have a G1, running Cyanogenmod (latest build). Whenever i use the physical keyboard it sometimes will randomly input strings of characters. The most common is "/ ~z{"
I first thought this was a software issue, i began by uninstalling all my apps.. Issue was still present.
I then did a factory reset back to Cyanogenmod, issue is still there.
I then booted into the console in the recovery and guess what?! The issue is still there even in console..
Anyone else have this issue? Is it hardware related or software? Its very annoying, I have a new G1 coming from tmobile as warranty but i'd like to know what causes this issue.
Hardware. If you are comfortable you could disassemble it and clean it.
The most common button to go, reading xda, would be the space 'bar'.

Thanks, i wanted to confirm this. The unit is under warranty from tmobile still so im getting a free exchange anyways.
What is the easiest way to get my current rom app's, and settings over to my new G1?
Backup for root users probably.

[Q] Volume Disable Lock

I recently just bought the HTC Evo Shift and so far am very pleased with it, except for one thing.. when i ever slide it im always pushing up/down on my volume rocker and its annoying.. i was wondering if there is a way i can disable this or if someone out there can make me a flashable zip file to disable it lol.. thanks guys!!!
Been discussed already. Check previous threads. I believe the final answer was to just learn to stop pushing them all the time.
^ Shift Faced
haha sadly enough I think that is right. I did notice after I got a case it happened to me less often since there was a small ledge aroung the rocker.
I think someone may have suggested something from the market that could do it? not sure.
Edit: here it is, it didn't take me long to find it... and it was almost the exact same Thread Name as yours.
